31st December 2021 - New Year Celebration (Buds-II)
The New Year signifies that the time has arrived to bid farewell to the by-gone year and to welcome the New Year. It is the perfect occasion to appreciate all the good things that the past year has given you and all the good things that are yet to come...
Soaking in the spirit of New Year, a Happy New Year Card Making Activity was organised for the students of Buds on 30 December 2021. The students enthusiastically participated in the activity and exhibited their talent by making beautiful cards conveying the greetings and wishes for the new year. The objective of the activity was to inculcate creative expression among the students. They made beautiful cards using different materials like stone stickers, stars, mirrors, glitter sheets etc.
When New Year's Eve comes around, it is fun to inspire kids to set up their own resolutions. New Year resolutions are promises which one makes to oneself for their own betterment. Keeping the spirit of New Year alive, A Speaking Activity - My New Year Resolution was organised for the students of class Blooms. The students were encouraged to make and share their resolution amongst their peer group. The objective of this activity was to make the students confident and better orators so that they can express and share their thoughts.
A New Year is a blossom in our life, and it is worth celebrating the day. It is a special day for everyone as it is time for welcoming another year, enjoying with family and friends, having fun, and taking resolutions for the upcoming year. To welcome the year 2022 in a special way, a New Year Card Making Activity was organised for the students of classes I and II on 29 December 2021. Students displayed their artistic and creative side by preparing some beautiful cards using different art and craft techniques and decorative materials like stars, stickers etc.

24th December 2021 - Christmas Celebrations (Buds-II)
“The magic of Christmas never ends and its greatest of gifts are family and friends”
Christmas is the most famous festival celebrated across the world on 25th December every year. This festival is celebrated to mark the birth of 'Jesus Christ'. On this day, the Christmas tree is decorated with ornaments, gifts etc. which makes it look enchanting. People dress up in Santa Claus costume and distribute gifts to children. Different activities were conducted for the students of classes Buds-II to celebrate this festival.
Activity - Making a Christmas tree, snowman and Christmas tree was conducted for the students of Buds. The teacher spoke about Christmas which was followed by showing them the story of Santa. The activities gave young students a platform to display their artistic skills. They made beautiful frames, snowman and Christmas tree using different craft materials like thermocol balls, origami sheets, glitter sheet, cotton, glitter, ribbons, stone stickers, sequins, ice cream sticks etc. It was wonderful to see the students doing their work actively and independently. The activities were enjoyed by all the students. The students brought the verve of Christmas alive by participating in all the activities with a lot vigour and enthusiasm.
Christmas Card Making Activity was organised for the students of Blooms. Children participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. It was a wonderful sight to witness the creations of children who with their nimble fingers weave magic on paper. The activity aimed at promoting creativity and self- expression amongst children.
Welcoming Santa: Colouring and Decorating - Christmas Tree activity was organised for the students of Class-I to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. Students exhibited their creativity by colouring and decorating the Christmas tree art sheet. Students participated with great fervor. The boundless joy of decorating the Christmas tree was amply visible on the faces of the children.
Christmas Card Making Activity was organized for the students of Class-II to commemorate this festival. Students made some beautiful Christmas cards using different art and craft techniques and portrayed their artistic and creative side with great joy and enthusiasm.

23rd December 2021 - Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Activity- Craft Caravan (Blooms)
“India is a country in which every great religion finds a home”
India is a nation which defines the term ‘Unity in Diversity’. The term ‘Unity in Diversity’ refers to the togetherness inspite of presence of immense different beliefs. Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat is an important annual plan to promote National Integrity by imparting cultural sensitivity.
The state of Sikkim was Delhi’s paired up partner’s state for this particular programme. Keeping this in mind, students of Blooms made a necklace using different materials like colourful pastel sheets, ribbon, decorative mirrors worn by the people of Sikkim. The objective of this activity was to develop a sense of belongingness and a strong bond between the two partner states.

22nd December 2021 - English Moral Story Telling Competition (Buds-Blooms) Theme: Tell-A-Tale
“A good story can imbibe the right values in the most impressionable age”…
Stories always give wings to our imagination and take us to places beyond the boundaries of physical world. Story telling builds confidence and enhances speaking skills. Keeping this in mind, a storytelling competition was conducted for the students of classes Buds and Blooms on the theme ‘Tell-A-Tale’. Children narrated different stories like ‘The fox and the crow’, ‘The ant and the grasshopper’ etc. Some of them were dressed up as characters and presented their story with facial expressions and voice modulation. Each and every story was narrated with a moral. The oratory and presentation skills of tiny tots were outstanding.

18th December 2021 - Christmas Day Activity (Classes III-V)
“Christmas isn't a season. It's a feeling.”
Christmas is celebrated on December 25th every year and it is a cultural festival of the Christian community. It marks the birth of Jesus to Mother Mary. It is said that Jesus was born in a stable and was a good shepherd. The life of Jesus was one of hardships and sacrifices, and Christmas aims to acknowledge that fact. It brings joy and happiness to people wherein they get together and cook delicious food. Christmas tree is the main attraction of this festival. People decorate the Christmas trees with bells, lights, glitters and stars. The children look forward to this festival for the entire year. After all, this festival gets them gifts from Santa Claus. The excitement and joy of receiving presents and decorating the Christmas tree is unexplainable.
To fortify children’s love for the Christmas season, the following online intra class competitions were organised for all the students of classes 3rd-5th.
Class 3 - Gift Wrapping Class 4 - Christmas Tree Decoration Class 5 - Making Creative Bags
The students participated in the competition with great zeal and enthusiasm and they showcased their creativity and artistic skills by wrapping gifts with unique styles, decorating the Christmas tree with a plethora of beautiful things and making various types of bags. From wrapping of gifts, decorating the Christmas tree to making bags with various materials, the event was full of energy, passion and enthusiasm. The competitions brought recreation, entertainment and fun all together.

09th December 2021 - Intra Class Story Telling Competition with a Twisted End (Classes I-II)
Story Telling is the most powerful way to put ideas in the world today...
Children love listening to stories and doing storytelling with them helps in instilling virtues they can carry with them as they grow old. Stories inculcate valuable lessons in children and helps them learn about kindness, wisdom, honesty, compassion and more. Children have heard many stories with happy endings but what if they wanted it to end it differently? Keeping this spirit of festivities alive, an ‘Intra Class Story Telling Competition with a Twisted End’ on the theme ‘Tell-a-Tale’ was organized for the students of class II on 08 December 2021 and for class I on 09 December 2021 respectively.
Students presented their favourite stories by giving it a creative and imaginative twisted end and participated with great zeal and enthusiasm displaying their artistic skills and creativity.
They were judged on different parameters like selection of story, voice clarity, modulation, expression of feeling, props and costumes and overall impression of the character portrayed.

25th November 2021 - Competition: Rang-O- Shapes (Buds-Blooms) Theme: Being Creative
“The purest and most thoughtful minds are those which love colour the most”.
Rangoli is a fabulous hand drawing art, originated in the Indian subcontinent, in which patterns are created on the floor using materials such as colours, diyas, flower petals, glitters etc. It is a way to express imagination. The purpose of rangoli is decoration, and it is thought to bring good luck as well. To promote the traditional art form of making rangoli amongst our children, an Intra class competition- Rang-O-Shapes was organized for the students of Buds on 24th November and for Blooms on 25th November 2021.
Children put in a lot of efforts and came up with amazing ideas. They used mirrors, diyas, laces, glitters and other decorative material to beautify their rangolis. This Rangoli making competition motivated the students to perform and outshine in their creative skills. Children participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.

The real spirit of the India is reflected in the celebration of its festivals across the nation throughout the year making the country more lively and diverse. Indian festivals have deep religious connection as people of India worship various gods and goddesses. Keeping this spirit of festivities alive, an ‘Intra Class Art Beat - Drawing Competition’ on the theme ‘Being CreARTive’ was organized for the students of classes I and II on 25 November 2021.
Students created some beautiful scenes of their favourite festival and participated with great zeal and enthusiasm displaying their artistic skills and creativity.
They were judged on different parameters like clarity with respect to the theme, creativity, neatness, and visual impact.

18th November 2021 - Promoting Healthy Food and Healthy Eating Practices (Buds-II)
‘It is health that is the real wealth and not pieces of gold or silver.’-Mahatma Gandhi
Food is essential for our body for several reasons. It provides us with the energy needed for working, playing and doing day-to-day activities. It helps us to grow, makes our bones and muscles strong, repairs damaged body cells, and boosts our immunity against external harmful elements. Food also gives us a kind of satisfaction that is integral to our mental wellbeing.
To promote healthy eating practices, various activities were organized for students of classes Buds-II from 15th- 18th November 2021.
Fruit Chaat Making Activity- To emphasize the importance of eating fruits and vegetables, a Fruit Chaat making activity was organized for the students of Buds. The purpose of this activity was to strengthen identification of healthy food items. The activity also focused on enhancement of the child’s vocabulary with words like washing, peeling, cutting, picking, deseeding, sprinkling, mixing, etc.
Collage Making (Healthy Food vs. Junk Food)- The importance of healthy eating was inspired through an activity where the students of Blooms were asked to differentiate healthy food from junk food through a collage making activity. The teachers discussed the importance of eating healthy food and adopting a healthier lifestyle.
Healthy Food Rainbow – To emphasize on the importance of eating healthy and making students aware about why eating healthy is important, a healthy food rainbow making activity was organized for the students of classes I and II. The purpose of this activity was to make students aware that just like the seven colours of the rainbow, we also have fruits and vegetables of different colours that help us to stay healthy and fit. Students prepared some beautiful food rainbows that helped them to understand why including different coloured healthy food items in our diet is important.

18th November 2021 - Activity: - Cultural Junction (Buds)
‘A nation’s culture resides in the heart and soul of the people.’
Culture is an umbrella term which encompasses the social behaviour and norms found in human societies, as well as the knowledge, beliefs, arts, laws, customs, capabilities, and habits of the individuals in these groups.
To make the students aware of their culture, 'Cultural Junction' activity was organised for the students of Buds from 15th- 18th November. In this activity, the students dressed up in their native attire and greeted their friends and teacher in their native language. The teachers briefed the students about different religions, culture and states. The song My name is Madhavi, I am from Allepy……. was also shown to them. The students looked beautiful in their cultural attires and each one of them greeted their friends and teacher in their native language enthusiastically.

18th November 2021 - Activity - Making A Bookmark (Buds)
A good book mark can be invaluable, saving your precious time thumbing through the pages to find your place. Therefore, a ‘Bookmark Activity’ was organised for the students of class Buds. The students worked enthusiastically and experimented with different shades of colours to flaunt their artistic imagination. They created and decorated the bookmarks using innovative ideas to make them look interesting and capture the reader’s imagination. All the students enjoyed the activity and learnt the use of bookmark. The teacher also explained the importance of reading in development of language skills.

13th November 2021 - Healthy Recipes Competition (Classes III-V)

Is it possible to cook without fire? “Yes.” said the students of Junior wing, Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka.
Our school conducted an Intraclass Healthy Recipes Competition on 13th November, 2021. The competition was conducted to create awareness about the nutritional value of food cooked without fire.
Children participated in the competition with full ardour and eagerness as they excitedly made and doled out some yummy yet nutritious dishes. The students prepared healthy and delectable delicacies like Cucumber Sandwich, Chana Chaat, Greek Salad, Fruit Salad etc. They served their dishes in the most artistic and attractive ways which were nothing less than a visual treat. The dishes were judged on the basis of presentation, cleanliness and nutritional content.

Diwali- the festival of lights is like the harbinger of joy and prosperity. The holy occasion of Diwali fills the atmosphere with the spirit of mirth and love. This festival of beauty brings bright sparkles of contentment, that stay with us through the days ahead. The festival marks the return of Lord Rama along with Sita and Lakshman from 14 years of exile. In order to welcome them, the citizens of Ayodhya lighted diyas and celebrated the festival with much enthusiasm. The ritual has been continued since then. People decorate their houses and light diyas and candles and worship goddess Lakshmi as she is believed to bring prosperity. People make rangoli and share Diwali wishes with each other. While everyone prepared to celebrate this auspicious festival, the students as well didn’t repress their zeal and enthusiasm.
Following all the exhilaration, the following online intra class competitions were organised for all the students of classes III-V.
Class 3 - Diya Decoration. Class 4 - Toran Making. Class 5 - Rangoli Making.
The students participated enthusiastically in the activity and marked the beginning of the festival full of nostalgia, hearts full of love, mouths full of sweets, and skies full of lights.
