23rd December 2015 - 10th Swabhiman Sports Festival (Skating) 2015-16
Skating is a great way to participate in a fitness activity which benefits both the mind and body.
Sachdeva Global School students participated in 10th Swabhiman Inter School Skating Championship 2015 held at DDA Sports Complex, Sector-14, Rohini, New Delhi. Almost 500 Skaters participated. The Students of Sachdeva Global School performed extremely well and won 8 Gold, 8 Silver and 5 Bronze medals.

22nd December 2015 � Gourmet Guru Competition
Eating is a necessity, cooking is an Art. The Young chef group of our school participated in �Gourmet Guru Competition� held on 22nd December 2015. It was a Fireless Cooking Competition where the students from classes III to V participated and prepared various healthy and nutritious food items that too without baking/cooking under the guidance of their teachers. The future chefs amazed and impressed everyone by their innovative recipes and professional presentations. Watching 8 teams, involving about 24 students, working and cooking together was an amazing experience. The theme of the competition was �Christmas� so the salty, sweet and the crispy dishes with the Christmas puddings, mock tails and smoothies were inspired from the festive theme. The Head of the School took a round and interacted with the participants. Students enjoyed the fireless cooking and were excited to share the recipes of the food items. The zeal and excitement of the students and teachers made the event a grand success.
21st December 2015 � Christmas Card Making Competition - UKG
Christmas is a festival which is filled with cheer and wonder.
Children like Christmas festival, as it is a time when one gives and receives Christmas greetings and gifts.
To get into the festive mood of Christmas, the school organized Christmas Card making competition for the students of Blooms on 21st December 2015.
The creative hands of Blooms made sparkling Christmas cards by sketching Christmas tree, Santa Stars, and Bells etc. and decorated them well. The competition was a great success with maximum participation of the kids.

Origami, the word refers to the art of folding paper into decorative shapes and figures. It is an art that provides meaning to every bit of paper. With the help of it, even a waste paper can be moulded and given a beautiful shape. Nowadays, people use colourful Origami sheets to make different shapes and figures. To make children try their hands on this beautiful art, an Origami competition was organized in our school on 16.11.2015 for class I. Before the competition, a practice session was also conducted in each of the sections in order to make students aware about this art and also practice some shapes and figures using the Origami Sheets. On the day of the competition, the students enthusiastically participated and created beautiful shapes using the Origami Sheets provided to them. Each and every bit of paper was given a beautiful shape by the children. It was a wonderful experience for both the students and the teachers.

26th October 2015 � English Story Telling Competition
Stories develop good listening skills, creativity and imagination in children.
It is true that children love stories they love to hear about fairies, giants, dragons and heroes.
Keeping this in mind, SGS organized a �Story Telling Competition� for the students of Blooms on 26th October 2015. The children narrated various stories using colourful props and were also well dressed in their favourite characters like lion, crow, giraffe etc. The stories were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. The competition was tough, making it difficult to declare the winners. The children participated in the competition with full zeal and enthusiasm. The event was a great success with maximum participation of the children from all the sections of Blooms.

15th October 2015 � Calligraphy Competition � Class I
�Writing is like walking in a deserted street. Out of the dust in the street, you make a mud pie.�
Calligraphy- the word defines the art of writing, the art of writing in a decorative manner. Writing is the art of expressing ourselves better. To write is to learn. For the students, writing is considered to be the most essential means of saying and expressing what they feel and writing in a creative and a decorative manner is an essential part of this process. In order to explore the art of writing that the students possess, a Calligraphy Competition was organized in our school for class I on 15.10.15. The students were full of enthusiasm and all set to show their creative handwriting on the sheets given to them. The competition went on for an hour. The students were judged on the basis of the formation of the words according to the script followed in the class.

(15 � 16) October 2015 � Annual Athletic Meet 2015
�Gold medals aren�t really made of gold. They�re made of sweat, determination and hard-to-find alloy called guts.�
Annual Athletic Meet is a pure reflection of sheer skill, hard work, commitment and perseverance a sportsman dedicate to a sport. 15th and 16th October 2015 will be marked in the history of Sachdeva Global School as a landmark in the growth of our global institution. Our Vice chairman Mr. Anil Sachdeva addressed our young enthusiasts and pushed them even harder to perform with the even soaring fighting spirits. The day began on a very vibrant note with a calming performance by our Yoga enthusiasts, which was followed by a scintillating show put up by the students of Rope Skipping Federation of India. One of our three National champions Kartikay Rao also performed with the Rope Skipping team and left the enthralling crowd wanting for more. The show also saw a breath taking presentation by our speeding stars on wheels, showcasing tremendously flawless artistic skills with varied formations. The races for the classes-Buds to III took place on 15th October 2015, Thursday. Day-2 saw our sporting enthusiasts performing with zeal in races ranging from a comparative simpler Lemon and spoon race to as hard as the 200 mtrs. race with pushups and hurdles. Sport is an amazing way to unwind ourselves of the stresses of our ruffled lives, leading us to an enlightened version of our own selves. Writing off this year�s success stories with the much awaited Prize Distribution ceremony, stamped the hard work of all the contenders fighting on the field for earning those glistening medallions.
14th October 2015 � Extempore Classes VI - VIII
An Inter house Extempore Competition was organized on 14th October 2015 for classes VI � VIII.
Aim of the Event Extempore was to encourage the students to accumulate, organize and present their thoughts without premeditation or preparation. It is here that the spontaneity, knowledge and wittiness of the student were put to test.
The theme of the event was �women� dedicating the event to the International day of the girl child celebrated on 11th October worldwide.
It was a competition in which the participants were given a particular topic, on which they had to speak for two minutes with preparatory time of two minutes. The event saw participation from students across the stated classes.
The judging criterion for them was content, presentation/ communication skills, eye contact, body language and creativity to relate live examples with topic.
What remains noteworthy is that this competition was successful in maintaining the enthusiasm of students; the event closed with providing an open forum for the other students who shared their thoughts across and made the event a great learning experience for all.

29th September 2015 � Tux Typing Contest
A tux typing competition was organized for class II students on 29th September 2015. In this competition the typing skills of the students were tested using the tux typing software. After being given adequate practice, the preliminary round of the competition for each class was conducted in their respective computer lab periods. Students were selected from each class based on their individual performance in the preliminary round. The final round of the competition was held on 29th September 2015 and it was conducted as an intra class competition. The students enjoyed a lot and the ones who scored more than 10,000 points were declared as winners.

31st August 2015 � Incredible India � Class II
India is and will always be an enchanting land. India is a unique country with diversity. It is known for its diversity in region, religion, languages, food, clothes, festivals and everything which uniquely represents the country and its people. India is incredible because of its monuments, forests and the rich cultural heritage that it carries with it.
To make the young ones know more about their country and its rich cultural heritage a quiz was organized for the children of class II on Incredible India. Providing every child with the opportunity to be a part of this quiz, the preliminary round of the quiz was completed in the classrooms and 3 students were then selected from each class based on their individual performances.
The final round of the quiz was held on 31st August 2015. It was an intra class quiz comprising of 6 teams. The five rounds comprised of slides based on visual input. Identify the picture, state whether the given statement is true or false, fill in the blanks, correct the statements etc to identify the winner. All the teams gave a tough competition to each other and even a tie breaker round was organized as all the teams performed extremely well in the quiz.

28th August 2015 � Rhyme Recitation Competition �Mera Bharat Mahaan�
India got independence in the month of August after a long struggle against Britishers. To memorize and pay gratitude to the great leaders, an Inter Class Hindi Rhyme Recitation Competition was organized in the school premises for the students of Blooms on the topic � �Mera Bharat Mahaan� on 28th August 2015.
The performance of tiny tots was extremely astonishing on the stage. The rhymes recited by the children ignited the feeling of patriotism among the audience. This competition gave opportunity to children to showcase their talent on the stage. The children participated in the competition with full zeal and enthusiasm. 27th August 2015 � Fancy Dress Competition � National Leaders
Fancy Dress Competition on the theme �National Leaders� was conducted for class Buds on 27th August 2015. It was the most awaited event, as it always gives a pleasure to watch the toddlers dressed up in different characters, stuttering with their speechs.
The children came forward posing themselves to be the leaders of our country as Chacha Nehru, Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Rani Laxmi Bai, Indira Gandhi, Sarojini Naidu and many more. The competition brought an amiable ambience and the judges retorted with their applause. It was indeed a mesmerizing event which would be etched in our memory for a long time.

25th August 2015 � Incredible India Quiz Competition
Unity in Diversity-is one word that explains the whole of India. It�s a land of different cultures, heritages, languages, places and people. The young generation of our country is instilled with immense knowledge about India. In order to bring out this knowledge from within them, our school organized a quiz competition on �Incredible India� to further nurture the young talents. The notifications in the printed format were sent to the parents and a study PPT on incredible India was also uploaded on the school website to provide a glimpse about the questions that would be asked in the quiz. The Quiz had two rounds- 1st round- Prelims and the 2nd round- Final Quiz.
The prelims were conducted in the respective classes itself wherein the students were given a small paper with ten questions, each having two options. The questions were read out to the students and were asked to circle the correct option. Each question carried 1 mark. The students were judged on a scale of ten. From each class, three finalists were selected and five teams A, B, C, D and E were formed, each having three students for the final round of the quiz which was to be held on 25.08.2015. On the day of the final quiz, all the finalists were seated in a room where they were shown some slides on Incredible India and asked questions. Based upon the responses from the students, Team E, Team D and Team C won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

30th July 2015 � Gourmet Guru Competition � Class I
�Gourmet Guru� or �Cooking Without Fire�, is a competition wherein the students are required to prepare dishes with food stuff like vegetables, fruits, snacks etc., without the use of fire within a stipulated period of time.
This competition was conducted for the students of class I on 30.7.2015. The notification following all the details about the conduct of the competition was sent to the parents in the printed format which were attached in the almanacs of each and every student of class-I to ensure maximum participation from them.
The competition carried on for about an hour. The students enthusiastically started preparing the dishes. Each one of them brought forward their own small creative talents in preparing the dishes. All the dishes prepared by them were judged on some pre-determined criteria like the, �method�, �taste, �creativity, and �the overall presentation�. A photo session was also carried out with the students while they were preparing the dishes. Later on the school primary incharge also visited each of the classes to boost up the morale of the students. She was quite amazed and happy to see such young talents.
The time went on and the competition reached to its end. Each of the dishes made by the students were closely examined by the teacher incharge of the respective section according to the predetermined criteria and finally 3 students from each of the classes, were selected and given the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

29th July 2015 � Gourmet Guru Competition � Class II
Cooking is not just about making food, it is also about learning healthy food choices, bringing in your own creativity and uniqueness to a dish. Cooking is a passion for some, and this passion for cooking can be found amongst children as well. To fulfill this passion, a cooking competition was organized for class II, wherein the children had cook dishes without fire. The competition provided the students a platform to showcase their talent and creativity. The children from all the sections of class II prepared a lot of healthy and tasty dishes which included dishes like salads, sandwiches, fruit cream, bhelpuri etc. The children had a good learning experience and enjoyed a lot during the competition. The teachers had a tough decision to make as all the children had done extremely well.

27th July 2015 � Clay Modelling Competition �Fruits & Vegetables�
A very exciting competition of clay modelling on the theme � Fruits &Vegetables was conducted in class Buds & Blooms. The tactile nature of the clay gave students the opportunity to hone their fine motor skills, observation skills and creativity, while having fun. The students were allowed to let their imagination flow as they made different fruits & vegetables using colourful dough.
It was fun to see the little hands at work as our young artists sculpted their imagination.
It was a treat to the eyes to witness the creativity of our children. The models of fruits & vegetables were showcased well and the best entries of each section were awarded. The pleasure of creating with their own hands gives a lot of confidence to our toddlers. Thus, it was great fun. Whoever may win, all our young hands were brilliant!!!

13th May 2015 � Semi Classical Singing Competition
Music is the universal language of mankind. It expresses questions, feeling and thought, without language, it is below and before speech and it is above and beyond all words.
To help students in developing interest in music, an inter house �Semi Classical Singing Competition� was held on 13th May 2015 for the students of classes VI � X.
Students participated with a lot of enthusiasm and were very excited. There was a close competition between the four houses.
Peace house won the first position closely followed by Harmony, then Glory and Pride.
It was a tough competition and everybody enjoyed it thoroughly.
30th April 2015 � Poster Making Competition: Theme Nature
To do our bit on saving nature, a poster making competition was organized for the students of class II using waste materials on 30 April 2015. Waste material is something that is thought to be of no use and all of us have a tendency to discard it. But the young minds of class II using their creativity and imagination made a good use of these waste materials. They created beautiful posters based on the theme nature using waste materials like cardboard boxes, broken CD�s, sponges, thermocol glasses, pista shells, pencil shavings etc. It was an intra-class competition which made the students realise how they can put waste material to use and it is not just something which needs to be discarded. The competition gave the students an opportunity to showcase their talent and from each class three or four best posters were selected, and the work of each and every student was appreciated.

29th April 2015 � Inter House Throw Ball Competition
An Inter House Throw Ball Competition was organized on 29th April 2015 in the school ground. It was an enthralling match with all the teams giving their best. The first match was held between Pride and Harmony house. It was a nail biting match with both the teams winning successive sets. Finally, the third set was won by Pride House by a huge margin of 10-3. The second match was between Glory and Peace house which was won by Peace house. The final match was between Pride and Peace. It was a clash of the titans as both the teams fought till the very last game point. Pride house won with a narrow margin in the end after much anticipation and nervous moments. In a nutshell, it was an active start to the day and the players as well as the audience felt rejuvenated after the finale.
