22nd December 2014 – E-Christmas Card Making Competition
“Christmas is the day that holds all time together”
Christmas is a festival that honors the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a festival of celebration and is celebrated with immense joy and happiness all around the world. Children like Christmas as it is a time when you give and receive Christmas greetings and gifts, get to sing carols and decorate the Christmas tree. To get in the festive mood and to celebrate the spirit of Christmas, an E- Christmas card making competition was organized for the students of class II. Based on their individual performance in the preliminary round, students were selected for the final round which was held on 22nd December 2014. Beautiful cards were prepared by the students using MS Paint which depicted the spirit of Christmas. It was a tough job for the teachers to choose the winner as all the students had performed extremely well.

(17th & 23rd) December 2014 – Christmas Card and Gift Box Decoration
Christmas is one of those festivals that just seem to be filled with cheer and wonder.
Children like Christmas, as it is a time when you give and receive Christmas greetings and gifts.
To get into the festive mood of Christmas, the school organized Christmas card making and Gift box decoration competitions for the Buds and Blooms on 17th December 2014 & 23rd December 2014. Children of Blooms decorated the boxes using beautiful stickers and ribbons and wrote Christmas wishes on them. The creative hands of buds made sparkling Christmas cards by sketching Christmas tree, Santa, Stars, Bells etc. and decorated them well. The competitions were great success with maximum participation of the kids.

17th December 2014 – Logos and Punch lines Final – Class I
Quiz is a very interesting brainstorming activity which provide children with additional knowledge and a wider view of their surroundings. The Quiz : Logos and Punchlines, was very appropriate for this motive as it dealt with the consumer market of the economy and our young minds were very sharp to assimilate all the knowledge from the quiz.
After the prelims of the quiz, three students were selected for the final round from each section of class I. In the final round, the students were divided into 6 teams, having 3 members each. The quiz ppt comprised of 6 rounds, pertaining to different variety of questions for the students. It had rounds like guess the logo, name the brand, complete the punch lines, state true or false etc. It was a tough competition for all the students and all the students were equally good to give spot answers to the questions. It was a very interesting quiz to watch, as the enthusiasm of the children was very high. Questions were even asked to the students, sitting as audience. The quiz ended by all the teams securing equal points, hence a tie breaker round was held, through which the winners of the quiz were decided.

26th November 2014 – Logos and Punchlines – Final Round
A logo is a special symbol that a company or an organization uses that makes it distinct from others. Nowadays, companies while advertising their products also add punch lines which are climatic phrases or sentences that produces a desired effect on the buyers of that product. Logos and punch lines are a means of drawing attention to the product being sold by a particular company. For e.g. the famous punch line of Lays is “Pal banaye magical” and that Cadbury dairy milk is “Kuch meetha ho jaaye”. These logos and punch lines make each product distinct from the other. To acquaint the children with the different logos and punch lines of the different products available in the market a quiz was organized on logos and punch lines. The objective was to improve their general knowledge and to tell about the different brands available under one category. The final round was held on 26th November 2014. Twelve students were selected based on their individual performance in the preliminary round held on 24th November 2014. The children were divided in to 6 teams of 2 members each. There were seven rounds in all to test the general awareness of children. The children were asked to identify logos and punch lines of different brands/companies, like “Drive your way”, “Eat fresh”, “Drive through” etc. they were also shown logos of different cars, snacks, soaps etc and they had to identify the brand/company. They were also asked to identify the celebrity endorsing different brands. The participants as well as the spectators enjoyed the competition and it was a good learning experience for all.

24th November 2014 – Create a Jingle
Advertisement is the most popular way of selling the products and reaching masses these days. Children love to watch the advertisement, as they are very colourful, melodious and eye catching.
To enhance the enactment skills, level of confidence & sense of awareness amongst the children. ‘Create a Jingle Competition’ was organized on 24th November 2014 for the students.
The children came dressed up in beautiful attires with appropriate props and presented various products and sung self created jingles on products Mosquito repellent, bulk, maggi, jam, honey, moisturizing lotion, milk etc. This competition gave opportunity to children to showcase their talent on the stage. The event was a great success with maximum participation of the children from all the sections of Buds & Blooms.

13th November 2014 – Children’s Day

Children’s Day is celebrated in dedication to the birth anniversary of Indian’s first prime minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The day is a celebration of childhood and innocence of children. Jawaharlal Nehru was really fond of kids and children lovingly called him Chacha Nehru. According to Nehru, children should be watchfully looked after as they are the strength of the nation and a picture of India’s future. To celebrate this day, an assembly was organized for class II-B. The children beautifully portrayed the life of Jawaharlal Nehru and his love for children. There were also beautiful dance performances by the students. The academic supervisor of the school, Mrs. Sumana Dutta praised the students for presenting such a beautiful and colourful assembly on children’s day and wished all the students a very ‘Happy Children’s Day’. During the assembly, certificates were given to the winners of the story telling competition for Buds and also certificates were given to the winners of the Tux Typing competition held in Class II which were as follows:

11th November 2014 – Famous Personalities – Class I

A quiz is an interesting medium through which we can enrich our students about general knowledge, as to strengthen their minds with new learning about the world around them. This time the theme based quiz on ‘Famous Personalities’ gave the children the opportunity to grasp new learning about famous personalities renowned all over the world. Hence, the preliminary round of the same was concluded by the final quiz on 11th November 2014, in the school premises.
The quiz had six teams, from Team A – to – Team F. All with 3 students in each. The quiz had multiple rounds, related with recognition of ‘famous historians’, ‘famous actors’, ‘famous musicians’, ‘famous politicians’ etc. All the participants had their thinking caps on, and gave a good competition to each other. So much so, that the results had to be finalized after various tie breaking rounds, among them. During the quiz, the students in the audience were also given an opportunity to answer few questions and win candies. It was a very interesting quiz, as the students astonished us with their wits and promptness. The quiz was concluded by the result declaration, in the presence of the head of the school, Mrs. Novita Chopra and her guiding words.

30th October 2014 – Famous Destination Quiz – Class II

Destination is a place where a person travels or is sent to. There are several famous destinations in the world which all of us wish to visit once in our lifetime. To acquaint our little ones with the famous destinations around the world a quiz was organized for the students of class II. Providing each child with an opportunity to be a part of this quiz, the preliminary round of the quiz was completed in the classrooms. The selected students were then divided into 6 teams comprising of three members each for the final round of the quiz which was held on 30th October 2014.
The quiz helped the students to know about the famous destinations around the world and what the different countries of the world are famous for. It also helped the students to become well acquainted with the geographical facts of the world and know more about the countries of the world. The quiz comprised of five rounds which were as follows:
Round 1: The teams had to identify the monument in the picture shown to them.
Round 2: Teams were shown a picture of the monument and they had to name the country in which it was situated.
Round 3: The true or false round wherein the teams were given a statement and they had to state whether it was true or false.
Round 4: In the fourth round a country was given to each team and they had to name three thing for which the country is famous.
Round 5: The spell bee round wherein the teams were given a monument and they had to spell it out correctly.
The audience too participated enthusiastically during the quiz and prizes were given to the students who gave the correct answer. All the teams gave tough competition to each other and in the end the results were as follows:

30th October 2014 – Story Telling Competition
It is true that children love stories; they like to hear about heroes, giants, fairies and dragons.
Stories develop imagination, creativity and good listening skills in children. Keeping this in mind SGS organized a “Story Telling Competition” for the students of Buds on 30th October 2014. The children narrated various stories using colourful props and were also well dressed in their favourite characters like wood cutter, lion, piano choir, Ginger bread etc. The stories were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. The children participated in the competition with full zeal and enthusiasm.

29th October 2014 – Annual Athletic Meet (Buds – V)
Sachdeva Global School believes in balanced growth of every pupil. Living upto this belief, Sports Day 2014 was inaugurated by the inspiring words from the Head of the school Ms. Novita Chopra. Sports Captain Shubham Singh ran with the ceremonial torch held high in respect of the sport and motivated all the competitors. This show saw some breathtaking sporting acts and mesmerising aerobic moves. With the races ranging from relay race, 100 mtrs. race, hoola hoop race, balloon race to name a few, the participants ran for the love of the sport and performed their best. The close of the ceremony was sealed with the much awaited Prize distribution held in the school grounds with the medal spree and joyous faces all around.
27th October 2014 – Hello Activity
With the aim of broadening the horizon and inculcating global outlook in our students. Our school organized ‘Hello Activity’ with a goal of familiarizing our children with different countries customs and languages there by creating international citizens.
Our tiny tots of UKG came dressed up in colourful and beautiful attires representing different countries such as Spain, France, Japan, Portugal, Germany, Italy, Saudi, Arabia and greeted in their respective languages. The children also put up lovely dance performances depicting countries they were representing. They also used appropriate props to make it more meaningful.
Parents of different classes were invited to judge the event on the basis of costumes, props, confidence and content. Large number of participation and the hard work of the parents behind each child were highly commendable.

29th September 2014 – Talent Hunt Competition - I

Talent is the gift by God that is instilled in every person, and to nurture and polish it, is our gift back to God. To help our little artists in this task, a talent hunt was organized for them in the school premises. It was an intra class competition among the students of class I. Students were encouraged to participate in different categories namely – singing, dancing and instrumental, to showcase their hidden talents with great poise and confidence. It was a beautiful sight to see such young children, moving to the beats of the songs, some surprising us with their melodious voices and few others astonishing us with the magic their little fingers could do, on the musical instruments. They were judged on various aspects of their performances like costumes, expression, rhythm, clarity etc. It was a delightful event to see such young talents compete with one another with great enthusiasm. Concluding the competition, our judges Mrs. Poonam and Mrs. Shiny, announced the following results for the talent hunt:

29th September 2014 – Talent Hunt Competition - II
Talent is a special natural ability or aptitude that every individual possess. Young children have an ocean of hidden talent amongst them. To give the students a chance to showcase their talent, a talent hunt competition was organized for the students of class II. The theme of the competition was to give the students a chance to showcase their innate talents and perform with full confidence and enthusiasm. Taking forward the preliminary round of the competition, the final round was organized on 29.9.14.The students dressed in colorful dresses were full of confidence prior to their performances. The competition included three categories- Vocal Music, Dance and Instrumental Music. The competition started with students singing in tunes of Indian music. Some students also displayed their talents by dancing and playing different musical instruments. The audience which comprised of all class II students were spellbound by the performances of their friends and enjoyed thoroughly. The judges of the competition were Ms. Poonam, Ms. Bharti Kapoor and Mr. Mohit. They had a tough time in making the decision as all the students were extremely good in their performances.

27th August 2014 – Freedom Struggle, Role Model
India has suffered grave injustice and impression under the rule of the Britishers. The 4th Mughal Emperor Jahangir allowed the Britishers to enter India, after the period of Mughals, India went into the hands of the Britishers. The Britishers ruled India for about 300 years. We struggled a lot for our freedom and our freedom fighters fought bravely for the freedom of our country. At last in 1947, India finally got free from the clutches of British rule.
The final round of the JAM competition – Freedom Struggle (My Role Model) for class II was organized on 27th August 2014. The theme of the competition was to make the students understand the importance of the freedom struggle for India’s independence and how our freedom fighters have inspired them to fight for our country’s independence. The competition also can improve the speaking skills and stage confidence of the students. The judges for the competition were Ms. Reena and Ms. Anjana, who had a tough decision to make as all the students were looking extremely good in their costumes. The students were judged upon their content, costume, confidence and their overall performance.

As well all know that India got independent in the month of August after a long strife against Britishers. To memorize and pay gratitude to the great leaders, an Inter Class Hindi Rhyme Recitation competition was organized in the school premises on the topic – अतुलनीय भारत in kindergarten classes.
The performance of tiny tots was extremely astonishing on the stage. The rhymes recited by the children of Buds – Blooms ignited the feeling of Patriotism among the audience. Children presented the rhymes on the topics like मेरा भारत, प्यारा झंडा, मेरा भारत मेरी शान...

Taking forward the preliminary round of the inter class JAM competition, its final round was held on 26th August 2014, in the school premises.
All the students of class I were the audience to the lovely competition. The extremely talented participants showed great vigour and expression in their speech. They portrayed their “freedom struggle role models” exceptionally. There were many Bhagat Singh, Rani Lakshami bai, Gandhiji, Mangal Pandey etc. but all with their own matchless performances. The participants were judged by the head of the school Mrs. Novita Chopra and Mrs. Anjana. Their props, costumes, content and expression were worth noticing, that attracted everybody towards their enactments. It was a delight to watch such young children giving great competition to each other, with their brimming talents.

(26 - 27) August 2014 - Hindi Rhyme Recitation
As well all know that India got independent in the month of August after a long strife against Britishers. To memorize and pay gratitude to the great leaders, an Inter Class Hindi Rhyme Recitation competition was organized in the school premises on the topic – अतुलनीय भारत in kindergarten classes.
The performance of tiny tots was extremely astonishing on the stage. The rhymes recited by the children of Buds – Blooms ignited the feeling of Patriotism among the audience. Children presented the rhymes on the topics like मेरा भारत, प्यारा झंडा, मेरा भारत मेरी शान...

30th July 2014 - Tell Me Why Quiz (Class I)
To analyze, enhance and entrench the paramount trails of a 21st Century individual, a quiz “TELL ME WHY” was organized for class I students on 30th July 2014. Providing every child with the opportunity to be a part of this quiz, the preliminary round of the quiz was completed in the classrooms, which aided the selection of three students per team. There were six teams in totality. Quiz revolved around rekindling the pragmatism through picture hints round, true/false, answer in one word, give reasons and spell bee.
Furthermore, the quiz did not only help the students to analyze the role of everyday events but also enhanced their interest in learning them. Such amazing facts were taught to the students through this quiz, that it served a great purpose in providing the children, learning in an active and interesting manner.

30th July 2014 – Inter House Athletic Meet
Sachdeva Global School organized its Inter House Athletic Meet on 30th July 2014. The different events that were conducted was Relay Race, 100 mtrs. Race, Hurdle Race, Long Jump and Shot Put. The events highlighted the passion and determination of our Physical Education teachers and the love of sports in our students.
After the close of the races, the talent of our young sports students was acknowledged in the prize distribution ceremony by Head of the School Mrs. Novita Chopra and Academic Supervisors, Mrs. Sumana Dutta.
The House that won the overall first position was Harmony, followed by Pride House in the second position, and Glory in the third position. The various races were conducted with much enthusiasm and team spirit. Thus the Inter House Athletic Meet ended on a high note upholding the spirit of sportsmanship and will power.
28th July 2014 - Tell Me Why Quiz (Class II)
The final round for the Tell me why quiz of class II was organized on 28th July 2014. The students who were selected from the preliminary round from different sections of class II were divided into five teams and each team consisted of three members each.
The theme of the quiz was to provide the students with the knowledge of different scientific facts build upon their prior knowledge and provide them with a better understanding of concepts already known to them. The quiz also helped the students in improving their listening, reasoning, identification skills and also their vocabulary. The quiz comprised of five rounds which were as follows:
Round 1: State whether the given statements are true or false. The teams were shown a statement on the screen and they had to tell whether it was true or false.
Round 2: Identify the picture. A picture was shown on the screen and the teams had to identify it.
Round 3: Fill ups: The teams were given a statement in which they had to fill the blank with the appropriate word.
Round 4: Reasoning. The teams were asked questions and they were supposed to give the correct answer for the same.
Round 5: Spell bee. The teams were asked a word and they had to spell the given word correctly.
The audience too participated enthusiastically during the quiz and prizes were given to the students who gave the correct answer. All the five teams participated so well that a tie breaker round was also organized wherein each team was to name the planets in the correct order and the spellings of different planets were also asked.

28th April 2014 – Declamation Competition – World Within
Standing on a stage and reciting lines is an opportunity in itself. It is a medium to express yourself and share your views with the audience.
In an endeavour towards inculcating the qualities of confidence and healthy competitiveness the students of Blooms had a Declamation Competition on the theme ‘World Within’. The children spoke on various current issues prevailing in the society such as child labour, Adult Literacy, Child marriage, save girl child etc. Relevant props were also used by children. The event was a great success with maximum participation of children from all classes of Blooms.
