19th December 2019 – Calligraphy Competition - Blooms
“Our handwriting style depicts our personality traits“.
Good handwriting makes an impression on the reader. To bring focus on beautiful handwriting , a calligraphy competition was organised for the students of BLOOMS on 19 December, 2019 to improve the presentation skills and to inculcate the habit of good handwriting among students.
The students wrote a given sentence with concerted focus on formation, size, space and general neatness. In recent years, computers have changed the way we communicate, with most neglecting their handwriting skills in favour of keyboard proficiency. As a result , fewer people are practicing calligraphy, revealing a “ handwriting crisis “ among today's adolescents. Such competition turns out to be very meaningful for the students since calligraphy not only improve writing skills, but also teach students about their unique structure and the beauty of the national language.
The sole aim was to motivate them to improve their handwriting and learn the beautiful art of writing well. All the students participated with great zeal and exuberance.

17th December 2019 – Our Furry Friends - Let's Be Compassionate
‘Showing compassion is one of the best ways to make the world a better place’.
There are many kinds of animals in our world. Some of them live in our houses, some of them in jungles. When we play with them we sense a feeling of warmth and love. But also in contrast with this notion, there have been many cases of animal abuse in today's time. Learning to be kind towards animals at an early age can benefit children as it helps them become more compassionate individuals.
To put light upon the harmful acts and to extend empathy and compassion for animals an assembly was presented by the students of class II-D on the topic ‘OUR FURRY FRIENDS- LETS BE COMPASSIONATE’ On 17th Dec 2019.
The assembly started with students speaking about how one must understand to be kind towards animals as they play an important part in our lives. Further, the students dressed up as animals presented a short role-play depicting how these beautiful creatures cannot voice their pain and how we can play our part by protecting them. A beautiful poem was recited dedicated to ‘Animals’ followed by ‘Nukkad Natak’ which raised the concern about the suffering felt by the animals. Thus, the message was conveyed to all that we should be compassionate towards animals as they also have ‘Eyes to see, heart to feel, and families to take care for, just like you and me’. Later the students showed their camaraderie and wished Happy Birthday to fellow friends.
