Our Green Pledge
At SGS we understand, appreciate and value our green gold (environment). It is important that this precious gift is nurtured, preserved and reserved for the next generation. To ensure our students become global green citizens they are sensitized through awareness programmes, participate in van-mahotsav celebrations and practice and preach the golden rule – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
6th October 2016 – Rally – Environment Conservation
Students of classes IV and V carried out, a ‘Rally’ on ‘Environment Conservation’ on 6th October 2016. They covered few markets of Dwarka and sensitized the people on the need to save the environment.
They used the slogans –
‘Do something drastic, cut the plastic!
Say no to plastic!
Water water everywhere, Save it if you care!
Save water, - every drop counts!
The children also presented a ‘Street Play’ to spread the awareness to Save Mother Nature. They distributed Grocery Bags which had slogans like save energy, save trees etc written on them to various shopkeepers and vendors.
The Rally was a success and the children and the teachers encouraged the gerneral public to understand their surroundings and become environment friendly.
4th August 2016 – GSP Assembly
The Science and Environment Club of Sachdeva Global School Dwarka organized the special assembly on ‘Green School Programme’ on Thursday 4th August 2016 with an aim to sensitize students to the environment and empower them to use natural resources in a responsible and an efficient manner.
The speech on the “need to adopt Green Schools Programme and the benefits fo auditing”, Alarming Environment facts and a beautiful poem recited by the Globalites were very informative and depicted the importance of “learning to live sustainably”. The skit based on Environment concepts and solutions was appreciated and was successful in spreading the message of CSE green schools programme to work towards change.
Audit teams were announced and the head of the school Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar awarded the badges to the students of respective teams. The assembly conlcluded with the song “Heal the world” by the school orchestra.
4th May 2016 – Let’s Create Out of Waste – Doll Making / Head Gear
In order to make children aware of uses of waste material and to give them a lesson on reducing waste, the school organized a competition named ‘LET’S CREATE OUT OF WASTE - DOLL MAKING/HEAD GEAR’ for the students of class II. Right from buttons, paper plates, wool, cold drink bottles, paper cups, ice cream sticks, feathers, thermocol balls and tissues, every waste material was used and the result was a room full of creative dolls and crowns made out of waste. Mind-blowing ideas beyond expectation were demonstrated by the students.
The activity displayed creativity and imagination of the little ones and developed the sense of love for the environment.

25th April 2016 – Being Picasso: Save Environment
Earth Day should encourage us to reflect on what we are doing to make our planet a more sustainable and livable place.
Continuing the celebration of Earth Day in school, a poster making competition named 'Being Picasso - Save Environment' was organized for the students of class I on 25th April 2016. It was the time to make the most of our creativity and to colour our thoughts out. Each student prepared a beautiful poster. The participants used their imagination and creativity and depicted their thoughts in the most appealing manner. The activity turned out to be highly enriching, enthralling and exciting for all the participants.

19th April 2016 – Be Responsible – Conserve and Preserve

22nd April is observed as the Earth Day throughout the world. Earth Day challenges us to take seriously our job as caretakers of our natural environment. And to spread awareness about the same the students of Class II-A presented an informative assembly on the topic 'Be Responsible - Conserve & Preserve'.
The students sang a lively song dedicated to the Mother Earth in which they pledged to be the defenders and friends of the Earth.
They also spoke about making our lifestyles and personal habits environmental friendly. It was emphasized that all of us should join our hands together to make a difference.
During the assembly medals were given to the winners of 34th Delhi State Open Roller Skating Championship.
