Timeless Travels
One of the most treasured memories of school life are the picnics, educational trips and adventure camps attended with friends. To ensure that our students can add more to this treasure, every year the school organizes visits for all. Smiling faces, twinkling eyes and giggling laughter – are our memories from each such trip. And yes together we learn sharing and caring, team spirit and time management and come back enriched and empowered.
10th November 2016 – Gurudwara Visit
“Satguru nanak pargateya miti dhund jag chanan hova”
Guru Nanak birthday also known as Gurupurab, celebrates the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Nanak DevJi. On this auspicious occasion, the students of classes I & II went for a visit to the Gurudwara in Sector-11, Dwarka on 10.11.2016. The students took the blessings of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and enchanted the mool mantra. Thereafter, they were served with karahprashad by the gurudwara volunteer. The visit was organized to make the students understand the importance of festivals in general and in particular. The children had bright smiling faces and a good learning experience at the gurudwara.
7th October 2016 – Visit to Dwarka Court
A court is a government institution with the authority to settle legal disputes between parties and carry out justice in civil, criminal and administrative matters. The system of courts interprets and applies the law. Therefore, the students of class VIII of Sachdeva Global School were taken to the District court of Dwarka to provide them with some basic understanding of court functioning. This gave them an opportunity to witness the court proceedings and to interact with Legal Department Judges. Students went to the MCD court, Mahila court, Family court and various other courts to gain first hand experience of the court hearings and procedures.
Students also got to know about the ‘Mediation Cell’ and appreciated it, as a time saving and better instrument to solve out disputes. A question-answer session was also organised in the conference hall of the court in which Mr.Gupta, Legal Secretary Dwarka Court and a senior judge, solved various queries of the students. Students participated in an enthusiastic manner. By the end of the session, students were provided with the information about POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) 2012. It was a brainstorming session where students learnt a lot of things.
5th November 2016 – Annual Picnic – Eco Adventure Camp
Adventure camp is a day camp that offers a welcoming, lively, safe, positive and diverse environment where children gain confidence and build self-esteem in addition to creating new standard of physical fitness.
A fun filled adventure camp was organized at Eco Adventure Camp Najafgarh. Students of Buds – I participated in around 10-12 activities as per their age group. The camp exposed campers to a variety of challenging and exciting activities like swinging bridge, Hip pity Hop race, laser beam, commando crawl, Hamster wheel and other energizing games. These activities helped to strengthen teamwork and personal accomplishments. The amount of energy and enthusiasm exhibited by students was enthralling. Overall it was a joyful and enriching experience.
20th September 2016 – Visit to Nehru Planetarium
With its aim to promote astronomy education, an educational excursion was organized by SGS for class I on 20.9.16 and for class II on 29.9.16 to The Nehru Planetarium which is situated on the grounds of Teen Murti Bhavan. The main attraction of the day was The Sky Theatre show on the theme ‘The New Solar System’. The sky theatre has a dome shaped roof which looks like space. The children were introduced to the constellations and planets through the theatre show in a very interesting manner. Visuals such as computer animations and video clippings were shown with special effects. The students saw how the Universe was created with the Big Bang. Apart from planets and constellations, various celestial bodies like Black Holes, space showers, meteorites, shooting stars etc were also shown. Detailed explanation of the family of planets was given. The planets looked real and the students felt as if they are actually in space. This all gave a real life experience of space to the kids. The children were very surprised to see the planetarium and enjoyed the show very much. It was an enriching, exciting and a good learning experience for the children.
19th July 2016 - Eternal Gandhi Museum
A visit to Eternal Gandhi Museum was organized on 19th July 2016 for class III.
The Eternal Gandhi Multimedia Museum is a digital multimedia museum established in 2005. It is located at Gandhi Smriti, formerly Birla House, the site where Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was assassinated.
The museum embellishes the life of Gandhi in sync with photographs, paintings, film footage, and video clips.A collection of over 40 exhibits shows the intersection of modern tactile computing and new green art with Gandhi's vision. It also encompasses new boundaries; in the inclusion of the world community in the production of art and technology and in the contribution of imagination and skills from all over the world.
The students enjoyed the visit and showed great enthusiasm as they learnt about Mahatma Gandhi’s life and his contribution to the freedom struggle. The museum presents the historical events of Gandhiji’s life as well as a spectrum of IT visions inspired by Gandhian thought; making the visit an enriching one.
22nd April 2016 – Trip to Indian Air Force Museum
On 22 April 2016 students of classes IV - V went on an educational trip to the Indian Air Force Museum located at Palam Air Force Station. The museum comprises of Roll of Honour, Wall of Fame, Models of Aircrafts and Pictures of Air Marshals. The students were made aware of Indian Aviation History and role of the Air Force in the various wars India has fought so far. The sight of various types of aeroplanes, rockets, bombs and missiles led to a deep understanding of the historical events of the past and the contribution of our country in the same. Overall it was a great educational trip, which witnessed a fair balance of enlightenment and entertainment.
20th February 2016 - Visit to Eco-Adventure Park
‘Adventure is not outside man, it is within’

Adventure is to enjoy life and to be adventurous is one of the essential things required to live a happy and a healthy life. Different kinds of adventure are associated with different kinds of people. Talking about the kids, they are the most adventurous people on this earth as they do not find the real meaning of being adventurous. For them adventure is to go to fun parks and enjoy.
Each group was accompanied by a volunteer. The kids were first provided a light breakfast and then taken to the rides. Children enjoyed the rides like ‘the Burma bridge’, ‘Zip Line’, ‘Rope climbing’. There were some animal rides too like the ‘Camel cart ride’, ‘Bullock cart ride’, a ride on the ‘Tractor’. All these rides gave children an opportunity to have a glimpse of the present village life and the means of transportation used there. The Eco Park was set in the midst of a village area and it was so made that it gave the entire look of village people, their work and their living style. There were some equipment’s installed like the ‘Charkha weaving’, ‘making of white thread from cotton balls’ which was very fascinating. Apart from all this, the children also enjoyed dancing on their favourite numbers.
(18 Nov – 20 Nov) 2015 – Adventure Camp (Buds – III)
The objective of an adventure camp is to offer an opportunity to the youth to grow, develop and practice principles of togetherness and self- reliance. Furthering the very goal of imparting education and helping the students to evolve into confident individuals who appreciate team work and togetherness, a day adventure camp was organized for the students from 18 November 2015 to 20 November 2015. The camp was organized in the school premises by ‘Great Rocksport Pvt. Ltd.’
The camp gave an opportunity to the students to sharpen their minds, learn while having fun and to help them in becoming psychologically and physically more strong and confident. The students were given a thrilling and unforgettable experience of different adventure activities like commando crawl, body zorb, hop scotch, rock wall climbing, commando net, woody wave, tug of war, laser beam, zip- line etc. The student had a fun filled experience and enthusiastically took part in all the activities organized for them.

16th February 2016 - Meeting with the Space Celebrity - SUNITA WILLIAMS
Students and teachers of Sachdeva Global School got a wonderful opportunity to meet the world renowned NASA astronaut, Ms. Sunita Williams at Indian Islamic Centre, New Delhi on Friday 16-2-16. The excitement to meet and share her experience of space with us was much awaited from the time we heard of her arrival.
She interacted and entertained us whole heartedly which influenced children to take more interest in space exploration.
Her inspiring words infused zeal and vigour in the students in a profound way.
Ms. Sunita Williams told us how she was prepared for over two years before the space trip, actually going into the space with her crew members, living there with no gravity, flying all over the spaceship, her sleeping pattern, food habits etc. in space. All this was shown to the students with the help of a live video.
It left them awe-struck and wondering over the nuances of space exploration by getting enticed by the phenomenal space journey. To the creation of nature they had just one word “Wow”.
