Timeless Travels
One of the most treasured memories of school life are the picnics, educational trips and adventure camps attended with friends. To ensure that our students can add more to this treasure, every year the school organizes visits for all. Smiling faces, twinkling eyes and giggling laughter – are our memories from each such trip. And yes together we learn sharing and caring, team spirit and time management and come back enriched and empowered.
19th December 2014 – Trip to Pratapgarh Farms
To break the monotony of the routine work, students of classes VI – VIII were taken for the Annual Trip to Pratapgarh Farms on 19th December 2014. Relishing the sumptuous food in the realms of rustic surroundings and enjoying the charms of serene environment were the major attractions. It was full of excitement, thrill and rejuvenation. Students enjoyed Camel Ride, Pottery Making and Drawing Water from the Well. It was an apt destination which gave the students an opportunity to experience the rural life in person and see beauty of nature closely. The trip proved to be a memorable one as the students came across the unique delicacies and suaveness of Indian Culture in the multifarious activities on which they tried their hands.
05th December 2014 – World of Wonder
Student of classes IX – XII went for the annual picnic to ‘World of Wonder’ on 5th December 2014. It was a fun filled trip which will remain etched in the minds of the students forever. The day started on an enthusiastic note with students playing antakshari and dumb charades in the bus en route to the destination. After arriving at the park, they enjoyed a plethora of rides as well as boating. They also danced their hearts out after the rides. By the time of lunch, they were tired and relished the sumptuous meal with fervor. The eventful day came to an end at around 03:00 p.m. and the students bid adieu with a heavy heart, carrying beautiful memories in their hearts forever.
(1st – 2nd) December 2014 – Annual Picnic – (I – II)
An annual picnic was organized by SGS for class-I on Ist December 2014 and for class-II on 2nd December 2014 to Aeroplanet. SGS headed a step ahead to widen the horizon of learning by organizing this picnic. Aeroplanet which is situated in Sector 8, Dwarka aims at imparting air travel safety, etiquette and sports recreation training to schools, colleges, groups and MNC’s in a safe, enclosed and environment friendly area. There are two big jet airplanes ie. Airbus A 300 and CRJ 200 positioned in Aeroplanet which provide a real time airplane experience. The students were told about the different aspects of air travel safety like how to use the safety belt, life jacket, oxygen mask and a mock drill was also done to prepare them for times of crisis. They were also shown the cockpit and told how a pilot controls the plane and what all has to be taken care of while flying the plane. There were other activities also organized for children like magic show, fun games and there was even a dance floor where the children grooved to the music and danced on peppy numbers. The picnic was a good learning experience for the children. The children had various fun moments in the airplane and on the dance floor.
(25th & 28th) November 2014 – Visit to Aeroplanet
Picnics are best when outdoors… Guess we can rethink while giving that statement out the next time. Aeroplanet is one such place that has proved this wrong. On 25th & 28th November 2014, students of BUDS & BLOOMS respectively were out on the wheels to the AEROPLANET, Dwarka for their annual picnic. A place where an Airbus A-300 is stationed to give the complete understanding of an aircraft, a 50 seater CRJ-200 was in the campus to give boarding the aircraft, air turbulence, aircraft take-off and landing experience. Full view of the plane from the side gallery, cockpit view from inside and outside was also available for every learner there. The visit not only displayed and familiarized the students to air travel, but also taught the children aviation etiquettes and manners. Trampoline and bouncy games were the additional attraction. Rope crossing was another activity that was thoroughly enjoyed by all as they were asking for more. No picnic could be complete without some dance and music, which the students enjoyed to the core at the dance floor.
5th November 2014 – Visit to Gurudwara – Class II
On the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the students of class II went for a visit to the Gurudwara in Sector - 11, Dwarka on 5th November 2014. Guru Nanak Jayanti is one of the auspicious festivals in Sikhism observed to remember and commemorate the birth and philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first sikh guru and the founder of Sikhism. The visit was organized to make the students understand the importance of this festival. Students serenely listened to the ‘paath’ going on in the gurudwara and after taking the blessings the students were served with ‘Kada’ and ‘Frooti’ as Prasad by the gurudwara helpers. The children at the end of the visit had bright smiling faces and had a good learning experience at the gurudwara.
3rd November 2014 – Gurudwara Visit – Class I

On the occasion of ‘Gurunanak’s birthday’, more famously called the ‘Gurupurab’, the school had organized a visit for the students of class I, to a Gurudwara, located in Dwarka, Sector – 11. Very strongly giving our children the message of secularity and spirituality at the same time. The visit took place in the morning hours, as soon as the students reached school. They were instructed to cover their heads with scarf’s, as a mode of respect towards the holy place. The students then boarded the buses and visited the Gurudwara along with their teachers. It was a serene atmosphere that enchanted the young ones as well. They sat their in prayer, known as ‘paath’, with closed eyes and joined palms. The students were also guided about the method, rules and importance of the prayers held there. They ended the ‘paath’ with bowed heads and kneeled legs infront of the ‘Gurugranth Saahib’ and then took round of the holy scripture. It was an enlightening visit, which students enjoyed thoroughly. The visit was concluded by distribution of the ‘Kada Prasad’ and frooti, to the students. Overall, the visit had so much learning for the children and a memorable experience as well.
3rd November 2014 – Adventure Camp
The school organized an Adventure camp in the school premises for the students of classes Buds and Blooms on 3rd November 2014. The camp was conducted by ‘Great Rocksport Pvt. Ltd’ (‘Member of Adventure Tour Operators Association of India and First Indian Company to win Education Excellence Award’) Students experienced all the adventure activities such as ‘Zip Line’, ‘Burma Bridge’, ‘Hop Scotch’, ‘Commando Crawl’, ‘Tug of War’, ‘Hamster Wheel’, ‘Laser Beam’, ‘Double Rope Bridge’ etc. The all day long activities results into developing various skills, team spirit, leadership qualities, discipline and Physical fitness. Many teachers also participated along with the students which further motivated the students. This camp was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.
(30th - 31st) October 2014 – Visit to Gurudwara
‘Guru Purab’ also known as Guru Nanak Jayanti is one of the auspicious religious festival celebrated in India to commemorate and remember the birth and philosophy of Guru Nanak, first Sikh Guru. We at Sachdeva Global School believe in secularism and celebrate festival of all religions. In this regard students of class Buds and Blooms were taken to Gurudwara on (30th - 31st) October 2014 where they were told the importance of ‘Guru Purab’. They were also made aware of some of their teachings. Children were also provided with ‘Kada’ and a ‘Frooti’ as Prasad. The children had great fun and learning by the visit.
21st October 2014 – Visit to An Orphanage
“We can’t help everyone bur everyone can help someone” inspired by these lines, Sachdeva Global School organized a visit to an orphanage ‘Don Bosco Ashalyam’, Palam Gaon on Tuesday, 21 October 2014. Students of Class VII represented the school and donated towards the noble cause by giving clothes, toys, stationeries, sweets and other eatables which had been collected from staff, students and parents. The children at the orphanage welcomed our students by singing a carol followed by singing of songs and playing of musical instruments. Students of SGS presented a Ganesh Stuti dance, which was applauded by everyone. The children of the Ashalyam of ages 6 to 17 interacted with our school students in an interactive session. Thereafter they played volleyball together. It was a humbling and joyful experience for everyone.
29th September 2014 – Visit to SBI Bank
In an endeavor to provide hands on experience, students of class XIIB visited the main branch of STATE BANK OF INDIA at Parliament Street on 29th September 2014 along with their teachers. The visit provided them an opportunity to observe and understand banking activities.
Students were welcomed through the E lobby OF SBI that included the machines which are used for depositing & withdrawal of money .Students were shown the entire process of depositing and withdrawal of cash at various counters, locker availability, depositing of cheque and priority banking facility etc. Students were made familiar with various documents used in bank like Pay-in-slip, Cheque book and Pass book. SBI gave an opportunity to students to open their own savings accounts as well. .
At the end, queries of students were addressed well by the employees of SBI. The visit was well grasped by students and such an exposure will certainly enriched the students with general procedures about banking procedures.
25th September 2014 - Visit to Gandhi Museum
With the view to break the monotony of the regular schedule, students of class V were taken on an educational trip to the Gandhi museum on 25th September. The fun and frolic ultimately met its motive in the trip which offered a room for infotainment. They got an opportunity to be one with the life and works of an eminent believer of truth and non-violence-Mahatma Gandhi. The glimpses of the digitalization of the museum left the children flabbergasted and impressed their psyche to the utmost level. It was an enjoyable experience which created a joyous spree among them.
24th September 2014 - Movie Watching
A Movie Show was organized by SGS in collaboration with Hindustan Times at Liberty Cinema, Karol bagh on 24.9.14.It was a refreshing break for the students from the daily study days. The children saw the movie ‘Entertainment’. It was a very entertaining and funny movie. The humorous jokes tickled everyone’s funny bones. It was a wonderful experience for the children as well as the teachers. The movie was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.
23rd September 2014 - A Jaunt Through Our Roots
An educational trip to the National Museum of History, Janpath was organized for the students of class IV on 23 September 2014, in collaboration with TIMES NIE.
Not only did the trip provide the students a chance to explore the objects of the ancient civilization but also introduced them to a vast anthropology collection preserved there, highlighting the lifestyles of the folk and tribal people. The trip proved interactive and equally enjoyable as the young guide escorting the students, informed them about the excavated things of Mohen-jo-daro and Harappa Culture. They enthusiastically viewed the tools, earthen pots, ornaments and other important items of that era. The exhibits of the sculptures, art forms, coins and jewellery used in various periods aroused several queries in the students’ young minds and left them amazed as they gathered information about each one of them. The students were also taken for a tour through the display of the specimens of the very impressive and sophisticated arms and armours used by various kings and their warriors. The exhibit enjoyed the most by the students was that of the tribal lifestyle showcasing unique dresses, musical instruments and masks used by different tribes around the country.
The visit broadened the pupils’ knowledge as they learnt about their glorious past in a fun filled manner.
8th August 2014 – Visit to International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology
In an endeavour to bring the students of Biological Sciences of classes XI – XII in a direct face – to – face interaction with the big wigs of Biotechnology, a visit to the ICGEB campus was organized on Friday 8th August 2014.
The students visited the lab of Dr. Naveen Khanna, (Group Leader – Recombinant Gene Products) who is in charge of the development of diagnostics and drugs for Dengue fever. The students were given a presentation of the history and the present status of the R & D carried out in this field.
The students were also demonstrated the use of various scientific instruments and tools like the ultracentrifugation chambers and the inverted microscopes. It was a highly inspiring experience for the students, some of whom were motivated to take up research as a professional career.
May 2014 – Globalities Go Global
Sachdeva Global School organized an educational trip to United States of America for a group of students of Class VI to XII along with the Head of School Mrs. Novita Chopra. Students visited New York, Washington, Orlando and Boston. To see the classrooms and labs of World’s top most Universities MIT and Havard, was an experience in itself. Students spent three days at Kennedy Space Centre ‘NASA’, having lot of exposure on making and launching of space shuttles. Asking questions and having lunch with an astronaut was any child’s dream come true.
Apart from visiting Disney Land and Universal Studio in Orlando, students spent a very fruitful day in Montessori World School which is a partner school of SGS for ISA achievement. SGS students interacted with the students of Orlando school and also participated in number of activities on building communication skills. To be a part of their teaching-learning process was an enriching experience. Opportunity to see statue of Liberty, Empire state building, ground zero and White House was an absolute cherry on the cake. Globalities indeed went Global with all the exposure acquired during the trip.
07th May 2014 - Visit to Traffic Park
Everyday people die on the roads due to reckless driving, speeding etc. and we blame the government for failing to provide good roads. But as responsible citizens, we can make the roads safer for all by simply following some basic traffic rules. In order to educate the students about traffic rules, Sachdeva Global School organised a visit to Traffic Park where the inspector in charge showed the children around the park and discussed the importance of following traffic rules. He familiarized them with various road signs and also told them about the use of subways, footpaths, over bridges and zebra crossings. He encouraged the children to speak to their parents about avoiding the use of cell phones while driving. The awareness related to risks of under age driving was also explained to them. Students were quite inquisitive about things related to traffic rules and their queries were answered gracefully.
It was surely a fruitful trip which was also an enriching learning experience for the children.
7th May 2014 – Education Trip to Air Force Museum
Sachdeva Global School organized an educational trip to the prestigious Air Force Museum at Palam Air Force Station with the Times of India on 7 May 2014. The students were amazed to see the wide collection of aeroplanes and armoury of Indian Air Force. They were made aware of the history of Indian Air Force through paintings, uniforms and models of aircrafts and were thus able to appreciate its progressive growth. The trip successfully inculcated a sense of pride in the students towards the Defence Forces in general and the Air Force in particular. Many also felt motivated to dwell on Defence services as one of their coveted career options.
2nd May 2014 - A Visit to Goonj
To promote the idea of Green School and continue with its social initiatives, students of SGS of class VIII paid an enlightening visit to an NGO-Goonj on 2nd May 2014 wherein they were sensitized towards the striving lifestyle of the rural children. It aimed at materialising the concept of 3R’s (Reduce, Reuse & Recycle) to preserve the environment. Students were made to immerse into the deep ocean of creativity with the display of earnest efforts of the female employees of the organisation which included various programmes such as “cloth for work” & “not just a piece of cloth”. The visit assimilated a sense of responsibility in the students of SGS by donating materials including woollen clothes, toys, ration items etc they felt contended and rejuvenated.
20th February 2014 – Trip to World Book Fair
To motivate the students to indulge in extensive reading, SGS organized a trip for classes VI - VII to New Delhi World Book Fair at Pragati Maidan on Thursday, 20th February 2014.
The plethora of books on display created an element of fresh curiosity in the students who explored genres which they had hitherto not read. Meeting with authors and participating in puzzle competitions were the highlights of the day. The trip was not only informative and motivating but also extremely entertaining and left each student instilled with love for books.
