27th December 2018 – Special Assembly- New Year & Chritsmas
The morning of December 27,2018 witnessed a lot of enthusiasm as the students of class I D presented their assembly session along with the students of class VI D.The day began reflecting upon all the magnificent accolades won by the Globalites in 2018 that added to the glory of the school.
The joy brought about by ‘Christmas and New Year’ was then celebrated as the tiny tots from class Ibegan the presentation with a wonderful Christmas carol and informed all about the significance of celebrating the day. A wonderful skit was then presented by class VI depicting how, in the beginning of each year, people resolve to leave all the vices behind and clear their conscience. The students enthusiastically represented different bad habits, mentioning how they corrupt us and why they should be dumped. The message was communicated to the audience in a humorous yet effective way instructing that they must follow their resolutions sincerely. The fun was enhanced as class I students danced and sang, welcoming the Santa who distributed sweets among all. The assembly came to an end as the Head of the School, Sumana Ma’am wished all to grow into better individuals and have a joyful and prosperous new year.

27th December 2018 – Veterans India Martyr's Fund
The Veterans Cell was raised in April, 2013 as a single window for the redressal of veterans’ issues and aspirations at Army HQ level. Since then, its role and charter has expanded considerably, to include matters beyond the usual pension and welfare related issues of the army personnel. SGS is proud to be a part of this initiative and has contributed generously towards this cause.

26th December 2018 – Calligraphy Competition
Calligraphy is a visual art related to writing. It is the design & execution of lettering with an instrument.
An Intra-class English calligraphy competition for classes BLOOMS was organized on 26th December, 18.
The basic aim was to provide a platform to bring out their latent creativity by writing beautifully as directed. Children participated with great enthusiasm & showed their skills in writing. It was a difficult task for the teachers to shortlist the winners.

26th December 2018 – E-Christmas Competition
Christmas is a festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Jesus Christ. It is celebrated all around the world with a lot of fun and joy. Christmas trees are decorated and carols are sung to celebrate the festival. To keep up with the spirit of the festival an E- Christmas scene making competition named ‘Being Picasso- E-Christmas Scene Using MS-Paint Tools’ was organized for classes I and II on 26 December 2018 for class I students and in respective Computer Lab periods for class II students, wherein the students had to make a scene depicting Christmas using MS paint. The children made beautiful scenes which were a treat for the eyes displaying the true spirit of Christmas. It was a tough decision for the judges to decide the winners as all the students had shown a lot of creativity.

21st December 2018 – Moral Story Telling Competition- Class : Buds
To enhance the confidence and speaking skills of the students, on Friday 21-12-2018, Moral Story Telling Competition was organized for the students of class-Buds. The students narrated different moral based stories in interesting ways. These young story tellers used a variety of props to make their stories more impactful. Each story concluded with moral highlighting different values of life. Enthusiasm and passion of the students were also witnessed by the teachers and judges.

18th December 2018 – Conserve Wildlife
“Wildlife is Mother Nature’s greatest treasure; to protect it, we must take every measure”
Wildlife plays a vital role in our ecosystem and without it the human race would not survive. Hence, it becomes really important for us to conserve the precious wildlife. Wildlife conservation is the practice of protecting wild plant and animal species and their habitats. The goal of wildlife conservation is to ensure that nature will be around for future generations to enjoy and also to recognize the importance of wildlife. To tell us more about it, the students of class I-C presented an informative assembly on the topic ‘Conserve Wildlife’ on 18 December 2018.
The students were divided into groups, each presenting a different set of animals. They conveyed their message strongly through a heart touching poem titled ‘Hum Rehte Van Mein’. The students stressed upon the fact that wildlife is as important as we are. Humanity can no longer stand by in silence while our wildlife is being used, abused and exploited. It is time we all stand together to be the voice of the speechless before it’s too late. The assembly concluded with giving birthday wishes to the students.

11th December 2018 – Special Assembly - Never Give Up
“Giving up is not an attitude, it’s a weakness.”
If there is no failure there is no great story. We should never give up in our life thinking about the consequences. We should keep faith and stay strong. Success does not happen in one day, we should keep trying to reach success in life. To motivate us more in our lives, the students of class I-B presented an inspirational assembly on the topic ‘Never Give Up’ on 11 December 2018.
The students presented a skit through which they conveyed a very beautiful message that we should never give up when we fail in our attempts. We should make up our mind to take failures in a positive way. They also recited a poem that motivated us to understand that giving up is failures’ way of approach that will not help us to lead a successful life. The assembly concluded with extending birthday wishes to the students.

06th December 2018 – Special Assembly - Winter Fun
“To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake, it is necessary to stand out in the cold.”
Winter is a season of snowflakes, hot chocolate shakes, warm woolens and yummy buns. Kids love to snuggle up in the quilts and bathe in the sun. It is the coldest season of the year. It is a season of healthy fruits and green leafy vegetables. Various kinds of seasonal flowers bloom in beautiful colors and enhance the beauty of nature. To welcome the winter season, the students of class I-A presented a beautiful assembly on the topic ‘Winter Fun’ on 4 December 2018.
The assembly started with kids telling us about the beauty of winter season. Thereafter they recited a poem followed by a dance performance. Everyone present there liked the assembly very much. The assembly concluded with extending birthday wishes to the students.

06th December 2018 – Special Assembly - Armed Forces Flag Day
“I regret I have only one life to give for my country.”
Class VI B presented a wonderful assembly on the topic ‘Armed Forces Flag Day’ on 6 December 2018. The assembly began with the news followed by the thought of the day. The significance of the Army Day was explained by the students. The students presented an inspiring mime act arousing patriotic feelings in all who witnessed it. Knowing about the struggles that fill an army men’s life filled all with pride and respect for them. The students tried to inspire all to donate generously for our saviors on this day.

30th November 2018 – One Nation Reading Together
Books are a tangible, valuable record of our world. Sure we have the internet and computers but books have their own importance. Books are there so we can learn, imagine and sometimes escape from the real world too. So, in order to promote the habit of reading, Sachdeva Global School, as a part of the initiative One Nation Reading Together, organized a book reading session on 30th November, Friday, wherein all the students of classes III-XI and the staff members collected in the school ground for an hour and a half to read the books of their choice.
The initiative really motivated the students to inculcate within them the habit of reading and develop love for different genres. There is nothing like sitting down with a new book, the pages crisp and fresh and reading about an adventure or a thriller.
The students also expressed their thoughts and emotions on the graffiti wall which was placed in the ground. In all it was a successful event and the children enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

29th November 2018 – Annual Athletic Meet
“Sports do not build character. They reveal it.”
Instilling the sportsman spirit in the future leaders, SGS organized its Annual Athletic Meet for the Classes III – XI on November 29, 2018. The meet was declared open by the honorable Head of School, Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar. The torch was lit and carried around the ground proudly by the School Sports Captain, Abhishek Singhla. Exemplary stamina, zeal and teamwork were exhibited by the young athletes as they participated in various races. Each race tested not only their muscular strength but also portrayed a never – say – die attitude as they continued on the tracks despite the hurdles posed and sometimes falling down in an effort to reach the finish line first.
The day came to an end as the winners were felicitated with medals and certificates. The day proved to be a success with each participant emerging as a true winner, some flaunting their medals, others a wonderful sportsman spirit.

28th November 2018 – Annual Athletic Meet 2018
“Gold medals aren’t really made of gold. They’re made of sweat, determination and hard-to-find alloy called guts.”
Annual Athletic Meet is a pure reflection of sheer skill, hard work, commitment and perseverance a sportsman dedicates to a sport. SGS organized its Annual Athletic Meet for the Classes BUDS TO II on November 28, 2018. It was the most awaited event in the school calendar. Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar, Head of School, was the Chief Guest for the event. The day saw our sporting enthusiasts performing with zeal in races with pushups and hurdles. Sport is an amazing way to unwind ourselves of the stresses of our ruffled lives, leading us to an enlightened version of our own selves. The day ended with the declaration of the results and the prize distribution ceremony. In a nutshell, the athletic meet was a treat to the spectators, as well as the participants, with the values of sportsmanship and teamwork resonating in the school grounds with energetic vibe and vigor.

27th November 2018 – Special Assembly - Early to bed, Early to rise
EARLY TO BED EARLY TO RISE, MAKES A MAN HEALTHY AND WISE
The phrase ‘Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise’ infers that having a good routine brings positive impact on the wellbeing of an individual.Early rising is a good and a healthy habit. A person who sleeps in time and rises early in the morning will have a healthy body and wise mind, and he will be more successful in his career. Discipline, with regard to the sleeping and waking time, plays an important role in the overall development of an individual. Children performed a dance on the song ‘early to bed, early to rise’. The assembly was concluded with a special message and National anthem.

26th November 2018 – Clay Modelling Competition
A clay modeling is a great way to help children to develop imagination and spark creativity. Our school organized CLAY MODELING COMPETITION on 26.11.2018 for classes- BUDS and BLOOMS on topics –FRUITS AND VEGETABLES / MY GARDEN respectively, where in the talented kindergarteners participated enthusiastically. The children used different coloured clay with which they made fruits and vegetables and beautiful sceneries. This helped to improve their fine motor skills, imagination and also promoted a healthy spirit of competition.

26th November 2018 – Elocution Competition For Class II
In order to give a platform to our little dreamers to share their aspirations, an ELOCUTION competition on the topic “I aspire to be…” was organized. There was a prelim round in which the students were selected on the basis of their performance. The selected students from all the sections of class II participated in the final round held on 26th November 2018. The competition was judged by Ms. Palak Madan and Ms. Manpreet Kaur. The students took part with great enthusiasm and it was indeed a treat to hear them come out with their unique and fearless dreams.

20th November 2018 – Special Assembly- Fantasy World
A fantasy is something we imagine or dream. It is the unrealistic setting or magic, possibly involving mythical beings or supernatural forms as a primary element of the plot.
Every child has their own fantasy, keeping this in mind, class Buds –D presented an assembly on the topic – FANTASY WORLD on 20th November 2018.
Children were dressed in outfits depending on their fantasies, like- fairy tales, alladin, chhutki, barbie etc. They also performed a dance on the song “DIL HAI CHOTA SA CHOTI SI AASHA”.

19th November 2018 – Moral Story Telling Competition- Class I
“The purpose of a storyteller is not to tell how to think, but to give questions to think upon.” Brandon Sanderson
Children all over the world love listening to stories. They want to know more about their favorite characters and often try to emulate them. And if a story comes with a meaningful message, it can definitely inculcate qualities like wisdom, courage, honesty etc. To teach the value of compassion, respect, integrity and responsibility a ‘Moral Story Telling’ competition was organized for the students of class I on 19 November 2018. The students were selected based on their performances in the preliminary round. Each participant narrated a beautiful story with a moral value. The spectators enjoyed the performance of every participant as it was fun to see tiny tots narrating their favorite stories and preaching related moral values. It was really a tough decision for the judges to decide the winners as each one of them performed exquisitely.

15th November 2018 – Inter House YOGA Competition
Inter house yoga competition was conducted between all four houses of Sachdeva Global School in the SUB JUNIOR Category on 15-11-2018.. Students from classes III to VIII took part in competition with full passion and performed as well. As other competition houses announced winner at the end of the competition. 15th November 2018 – Gurudwara Tour
Satguru nanak pargateya miti dhund jag chanan hova
Gurupurab is celebrated as the birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. On this auspicious occasion, the students of classes Buds - II visited the Gurudwara Saheb in Sector-11, Dwarka on 15-16 November 2018. The students serenely listened to the ‘paath’ in the gurudwara and took the blessings of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Thereafter, they were served karah prashad and langar by the gurudwara volunteers. The visit was organized to make the students realize the importance of festivals. The children had bright smiles on their faces and an enriching learning experience at the Gurudwara Saheb.

14th November 2018 – Special Assembly - Children's Day

In India, Children’s Day is celebrated every year on 14th November as it is the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who loved kids. An assembly to commemorate ‘Children’s Day’ was presented by the students of class Buds –B on 14th November 2018.This was followed by a delightful dance on ‘Bum bum bole’ performed by the kindergarteners. The song 'Chacha Nehru ki bagiya' was also sung by children with zeal and enthusiasm.
The assembly was concluded with a special children’s day message and National anthem.

03rd November 2018 – Refresher Workshop On Short Reads
“You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book.”
Reading is a habit that can make us a better person. Reading not only provides us knowledge but also inspires us. Reading exposes our minds to different cultures, languages and new worlds. As our minds are exposed to such wealth of ideas, reading ultimately helps us in communicating with depth of thought. To understand how we can make the most of this tool called reading, a refresher workshop was conducted for the teachers of classes Buds-II on 3rd November 2018. The workshop was great fun. The teachers shared about how they can explore and experience newer ways of teaching with the novel concept of SHORT READS- wherein the box contains cards with different grade levels. It was a learning experience for all, wherein the teachers explored how they can use this tool which enables the teacher to assess the learner’s lexile levels, enriching the vocabulary level of the children and also helping them to enhance their reading and writing skills

01st November 2018 – 45th Delhi State Roller Sports Championship ( RSFI ) 2018
|
The zealous Globalites who have recently participated in 45th Delhi State Roller Sports Championship (RSFI) 2018 - 19 on 1st to 4th November 2018 have brought laurels to school by winning 2 Silver Medals. The event was organized by Delhi Skating Association, G.R. International School, Bawana, Delhi – 110039, where the energetic skaters displayed their skill and sportsmanship in the true spirit and added yet another feather to the Skating Club of the school.

30th October 2018 – Special Assembly- Diwali
The much awaited and loved festival of lights, Diwali, was celebrated with traditional fervor in the grounds of Sachdeva Global School.
Students of Buds -C presented a special assembly on this festive occasion on Tuesday, 30th October, 2018 and appraised the gathering about the festival, which marks the triumph of light over darkness and the beginning of the Hindu New Year. They also highlighted the significance of this important day and took turns to speak about this day when Rama, the Hindu God had returned to Ayodhya after 14 years in exile, so in honor of his return people decorate their houses with earthen lamps and diyas .
The spectators were encouraged to observe an eco-friendly diwali and refrain themselves from burning crackers so as to create a clean environment for all living beings.
Students enthusiastically danced on rhythmic numbers and recited poem on Diwali. The assembly came to a close with the school song and the National anthem.

30th October 2018 – Inter House Gallery Competition
Inter House Gallery Competition was held on 30 October, 2018 for classes III – V. The competition began with the introduction of the contestants. Ten students from each house were selected. Students were informed about the rules of the game. They were well prepared and played with great zeal and excitement. Harmony House won the first position. The second position was bagged by Glory House followed by Pride House. Overall it was a great event as both the participants and audience enjoyed a lot.

30th October 2018 – Spread The Warmth - The Joy Of Giving
“A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal.”
There is no better gift than providing warm clothes to the needy people in this cold season. Lakhs of homeless experience bitterness of winter and are at a great risk of suffering from severe illnesses. A woollen collection drive ’Spread the Warmth - the Joy of Giving’ was organised in our school on 30th October 2018 by the HT Pace. This initiative was launched to gather woollen clothes for the poverty stricken and deprived people to make them stay warm during this freezing winter season.
All the teachers and students participated in this drive enthusiastically and donated their old clothes for the poor people. Through this drive, students learned the importance of being kind and compassionate towards the underprivileged and poor section of the society.

29th October 2018 – Hindi Story Telling Competition
“Story is a description, either true or imagined, of a connected series of events.”
Children love stories. It’s true!! And every child enjoys it for different reasons-be it travelling to magical worlds, morals of life, learning new concepts, going on adventures etc.
With stories, the possibilities are truly limitless. Perhaps, the best way to help a child explore, express, understand emotions, problems, problem solving, habits & much more via stories. Each story helps the child enter a completely different magical & imaginative world that has no boundaries.
Keeping this in mind, Katha Vaachan Pratiyogita was organized for Class- Blooms on 29th October 2018. The children narrated various stories. They wore the costumes related with their stories and also carried attractive props. The children were very much confident & enthusiastic. Everyone enjoyed the story telling.
This competition helped the children to develop confidence & improve vocal skills.

29th October 2018 – Lantern Decoration Competition
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.”
With the excitement of the festive season in the air, the school organized a lantern decoration competition for the students of classes I and II on 29 October2018. The main purpose of the competition was to bring out the creative skills of the students. All the students participated enthusiastically. They used decorative material like sequences, stars and mirrors. The lanterns were decorated beautifully displaying the creativity and imagination of the children.
It was really a tough job for the judges to decide the winners as every lantern was adorned at its best. The results of the competition were as follows:

27th October 2018 – Annual Picnic to Kidzania: Classes II - V
“I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.” This is a famous quote by Confucius. And that is exactly Kidzania provides by blending reality with entertainment. Students of class II to V had this thrilling picnic to Kidzania, Noida on 27th October 2018, accompanied by their teachers.
Kidzania is an interactive indoor theme park that inspires and educates kids through real-life role-playing activities. The realism of the role-play helps children learn about different careers, work and money management. The activities like Supreme Court, Police & CSI Department, Fire Department, Energy Conservation Hub, Hospital, Fashion Boutique, Dance Academy, Culinary School and many others, helped students to get the first-hand experience and explore various professions by enacting them. Many activities helped them earn money whereas few others required some payments thus helping the kids to understand the management of money in real-life situations. Kids enjoyed a scrumptious and nutritious meal for the day and came back with a lot of fond memories.

25th October 2018 – Kavita Vaachan Pratiyogita
Family plays a very important part in our lives. To make kids understand the importance of family, KAVITA VACHAN PRATIYOGITA (RHYME RECITATION COMPETITION) was held on 25th October 2018 for the students of class BUDS wherein the shortlisted students were well dressed along with colorful and attractive props. They participated with great enthusiasm and jubilation. The students were appreciated for their confidence and performances, which they showcased arduously on the stage during the competition.

23rd October 2018 – Health is wealth - Special Assembly
A healthy mind resides in a healthy body
The day initiated with the class assembly conducted by the students of II-E on “Health Is Wealth” on 23 October 2018. The assembly started with the morning prayer followed by the students elaborating about the topic ‘Health’ is an important aspect of our lives. The main objective of the assembly was to make children aware of the importance of good health, how and why we should take care of our health to remain fit and energetic. The students shared with the audience to eat balanced and nutritious diet, drink 8 glasses of water, do exercise in the fresh air, go for a walk, play outdoors and have sound sleep of 7 to 8 hours every day.
Students of class II E also spoke about the importance of being positive and spreading happiness as a healthy outside starts from healthy inside. The students shared the thought for the day which was by Mahatma Gandhi- “It is health that is real wealth, not pieces of gold and silver”.
In the end, students enjoyed presenting a poem titled ‘Stay healthy’. The assembly was very informative and thoughtful. It motivated everyone to have an active lifestyle and become healthy and fit. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

16th October 2018 – Special Assembly by Buds A -Dussehra
As birds are made to fly and rivers to run, so the soul to follow duty.
The school’s grounds were brimming with vigor and enthusiasm on Tuesday, 16 October 2018 as the festivities are just around the corner. It was a full house for the grounds to witness the galore of the upcoming festival- Dussehra. Giving away the message ‘Victory of good over evil’, the little ones of Buds-A presented a short play on Ramayana, depicting varied characters and pivotal incidences from the epic. Dressed in beautiful traditional attires, the little kindergarteners portrayed the essence of the festival in the most impressive manner. Further, the students’ recited poems on Dussehra and the assembly saw its close with burning of the effigy of Ravana by our Head of School- Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar.

16th October 2018 – Workshop on Organ Donation
With an aim to sensitize the students towards organ donation, The Organ Receiving & Giving Awareness (ORGAN), an initiative of the Parashar Foundation, a Delhi-based Non-Government Organisation, conducted a workshop at Sachdeva Global School on 16 October for the students of class XI.
The purpose of the workshop was not just to spread awareness about organ donation but also to debunk various myths and taboos associated with it. The students were made aware of the process of transplantation also, they were informed about the vital organs and tissues that can be donated.
It was an interactive and engaging session wherein the students raised their doubts and were shown clips of donor and recipients, which made a huge impact on how they can use their ‘superpowers’ to save so many lives. The workshop ended with many students pledging to carry the message of organ donation into the community.

13th October 2018 – Teacher’s Workshop on Short Reads by Scholastic
Education has become an ever evolving system wherein continuous updates help in fostering the holistic development of the learner. Keeping this broader view in mind, Scholastic has always been an active partner in facilitating us with even better teaching pedagogies and techniques. Saturday, 13 October 2018, saw coming together of teaching faculties from classes- Buds-II to explore and experience the newer ways of teaching with a novel concept SHORT READS- wherein the box contains cards with different grade levels. Ms. Rachna from Scholastic elaborated on this tool which enables the teacher to assess the learner’s lexile levels, inferring the vocabulary level of the child and also helping the children to enhance on their reading and writing skills.

11th October 2018 – Special Assembly on World Food Day
Food is one of the basic necessities of mankind and in line with this, students of class VIIA celebrated this day by conducting an assembly on 11th October, 2018.The assembly was organized for the students of SGS to be aware of the benefits of eating healthy food and not to waste food.
It was started with the new followed by the food for thought. The significance of this day was also highlighted through a message in a form of a skit presented the students of the class. They also spread awareness through their act that wastage of food should not be done and how one can help poor and needy people to get food.
The Principal, Mrs. Sumana Dutta Sarkar graced the assembly and gave her inspirational message to ponder upon this topic. At last she felicitated the award winners from different events in and outside the school.

10th October 2018 – Inter House Comic Act Competition
An Inter House Comic Act Competition was organized for classes III-V on 10 October, 2018. Students from each of the four houses participated enthusiastically in this team event. The students prepared humorous acts to promote fun and laughter. This competition was a way to instill the idea of happy living in the young minds of the students.
With a blend of humor and catchy punch lines, the students made their acts cling to the minds of the audience. Students and teachers contributed heartily by boosting the confidence of the participants with their cheers and giggles.
The first position was bagged by Harmony house with an outstanding performance. The second position was attained by Glory house, whereas Peace house held the third position.

09th October 2018 – Special Assembly - The Spirit of Kindness by Class II D
LITTLE DEEDS OF KINDNESS.. LITTLE WORDS OF LOVE..
MAKE OUR EARTH HAPPY LIKE THE HEAVEN ABOVE!!
Students of class II D presented the morning assembly on the topic- THE SPIRIT OF KINDNESS. The prime purpose of the assembly was to spread the message, “By being kind to others, you will be able to make others feel good and you will also feel happier yourself.”
The assembly started with the thought of the day followed by students talking about how one can be kind and polite. The assembly emphasized on doing something for others and not expecting anything in return. Students of II D talked about using magical word “thank you” and giving a “warm smile” to others as it is the universal language of kindness. The students spoke about helping the needy and respecting our elders. At the end, students took a pledge to be kind and also motivated everyone present there to be a better version of themselves by just doing little deeds of kindness every day. The assembly was enjoyed by one and all.

04th October 2018 – Special Assembly - Gandhi Jayanti
On 4th October’ 2018, students of class II C conducted a special assembly to mark the 149th Birth Anniversary (2’ Oct 2018) of our father of nation, Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi. The assembly actually overwhelmed the audience as the little students of class II C remembered the preachings of Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary along with the presentation of interesting anecdotes from the life of Gandhiji.
Students aimed to bring out the principles that guided the Mahatma Gandhi’s life. II C shared with everyone Bapu's mantra of following the path of honesty at all times; "See no evil, Hear no evil, Speak no evil.”
The students also highlighted that the Mahatma used to wear a khadi dhoti to be one with the common man of India and refused any privileges that could have come easily to such a man.
Class II C recited a hindi poem “RASHTRA PITA TUM KEHLATE HO.. SABHI PYAR SE KEHTE BAPU” in Bapu’s remembrance. Students also presented a wonderful dance performance on “Sabarmati ke sant tune kar diya kamaal” and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
The assembly was a successful effort by little students of class II.

04th October 2018 – Special Assembly- International Day of Non Violence
Students of class V E presented the morning assembly on 4th October, 2018 on the topic ‘International Day of Non – Violence’. The assembly began with the morning prayer followed by the thought for the day and updating the gathering with the latest news and headlines. The students then introduced their topic. They presented a ‘nukkad natak’ based on life of Mahatma Gandhi and a melodious song on Non-Violence. A skit based on policy of ‘Ahimsa’ and ‘three mystic apes’ was shown to reinforce this virtue. All the students spoke with confidence and their presentation was truly a successful effort.

03rd October 2018 – Career Counseling
A career counseling workshop was organized at Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka on 3rd October 2018 for classes VIII –X. Mr. Ankit Aggarwal, a faculty member of Akash Institute, Janakpuri was the spokesperson. He acquainted the students to the various fields they could opt for in their future through a power point presentation and told the students about the requirements of different fields and how they could achieve their dreams. He also gave an inspiring speech and motivated the students to be successful in the field they choose. The presentation was followed by an interactive session in which students participated enthusiastically. The workshop was quite beneficial to the students in guiding them to choose their career options.

01st October 2018 – Drug and Tobacco De-addiction
In its initiative to eradicate drug menace from society, Brahma Kumaris De-addiction Services in collaboration with Delhi police conducted school mental health program for the students of X-XII at Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka on 1 October 2018.
The focus of the program was to provide insight to the students about the seriousness of drug addiction as it is a social evil.
Starting the session, Dr. Sachin Pranab spoke about drug addiction and highlighted the drug addiction scenario in India, the causes and consequences of addiction. He also spoke about preventive measures.
An interactive question-answer session was also held which was followed by short meditation session which certainly rejuvenated the students. At the end, an oath ceremony took place wherein the students pledged to restrain from substance abuse and help those who are struggling to quit. The queries were answered satisfactorily by the experts.
The program was highly appreciated by the students and the staff, as it was thought-provoking and gave students a reality check that “It’s never too late to quit, but it important to quit before it’s too late.”

26th September 2018 – Adventure Camp (Buds - I)
The objective of an adventure camp is to offer an opportunity to grow, develop and practice principles of togetherness and self- reliance. Furthering the very goal of imparting education and helping the students to evolve into confident individuals who appreciate team work and togetherness, a two day adventure camp was organized for the students of classes- Buds, Blooms and Ist on September 26-27, 2018. The camp was organized in the school premises only. The camp gave an opportunity to the students to harness their mental faculties, learn while having fun and to help them in becoming psychologically and physically more strong and confident. The students were given a thrilling and unforgettable experience of different adventure activities like commando crawl, body zorb, hop scotch, rock wall climbing, commando net, woody wave, tug of war, zip- line etc. The students had a fun filled experience and took part in all the activities enthusiastically.

26th September 2018 – Election Museum
Students of class Xth of Sachdeva Global School went to Election Museum on 26 September 2018. Election Museum is located at the office of Chief Electoral Officer, Kashmere Gate, New Delhi. Students were shown many informative videos related to first elections of India, EVMs among other interactive sessions.
Visiting the Election Museum was truly an enriching experience as it enhanced the knowledge of students about Electoral procedure of India. The place provided a great learning experience about electoral legacy, electoral management and journey of democracy with Mahatma Gandhi, with the use of archived photographs, artifacts and maps.

25th September 2018 – Education - A Tool to Success
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
We know that a brighter future starts with an education. Education gives us the tools and support we need to find success in life.
To spread awareness about the importance of Education, students of class II-B conducted the morning assembly on 25th September’ 2018. The students of class II B stressed on the significance of education in one’s life. They emphasized upon the fact that education is very important for everyone to move forward in life and achieve success. It plays a great role in the formation of a person's personality. Students mentioned that school education plays a great role in everyone's life.
The assembly also stimulated thoughts of young students by presenting a beautiful poem ‘bahut zaroori hoti hai shiksha”. Students of II B also presented a wonderful dance performance on “Shiksha ke deep jalayengein” and spread their message very well. All the students spoke with confidence and their presentation was a successful effort.

20th September 2018 – Special Assembly- International Peace Day
'Peace cannot be kept by force, it can only be achieved by understanding.’
A famous saying that refers to the importance of maintaining peace amongst us. In order to inculcate the value of peace, students of class V-C presented the morning assembly on 20 September, 2018 on the topic ‘International Peace Day’. The assembly began with the morning prayer followed by the thought for the day and updating the gathering with the latest news headlines. Children then came forward and talked about International Peace Day. A skit was presented by the group of students to make everyone aware about the importance of having peace in our lives which was then followed by an amusing recitation of a poem. A group song with the title ‘Light a candle for peace’ was also presented which filled the gathering with melody and rhythm as the students sang it with full energy. It was an informative assembly in all.

20th September 2018 – Talent Hunt - Class I & II
"Your talent is a gift from God. What you do with it is your gift to Him."
In order to give a platform to the students to showcase their talent, Sachdeva Global School organized a ‘Talent Hunt’ competition for the students of classes I and II on 20 September 2018. The aim of the event was to nurture the intrinsic qualities of the students for their holistic development. The students exhibited their talents in different genres like vocal music, instrumental music and dance. It was amazing to see the students performing with utmost confidence and grace. The competition served its purpose well by boosting the confidence of the students and removing their stage fear.

19th September 2018 – Talent Hunt Competition
An inter class talent hunt competition was held in the categories of singing competition, dancing competition and instrumental music competition on 19th September, 2018 for classes buds and blooms. The students performed on various folk, classical, devotional and patriotic songs in dancing and singing areas and also enthralled us with the performance in instrumental music category. We were pleasantly surprised to note the passion and interest with which the students participated in these categories. 19th September 2018 – Talent Hunt Competition- Blooms
Believing that each child has a potential and to nurture the holistic development of the children, Talent Hunt competition was organized for class- Blooms on 19th September, 2018. It gave an opportunity to each child in showcasing their talent in singing, dancing & playing a musical instrument. Children recited patriotic songs, devotional songs like shlokas, mantras. Few other children performed dances on Folk Music & devotional songs. Children participated in the competition with full enthusiasm which reflected the parents enthusiasm & contribution. Our judges enjoyed deciding over the Best talent in different fields. It was tough for them to select the winners. Everyone enjoyed the competition thoroughly.

18th September 2018 – Power of Reading
With the view of highlighting the importance of reading, a special assembly was conducted by Class II A on 18 September, 2018. The children spoke beautiful lines with an objective of highlighting the significance of reading books. They emphasized upon the fact that reading books empower us with knowledge, experience and wisdom to transform us into better human beings. The young children laid stress upon the fact that books are the primary source of information by highlighting the importance of reading and acquiring knowledge through textbooks. The assembly also stimulated thoughts of young students by presenting a beautiful song “Books are fun”. Students of II A spread the message that books are integral part of our lives and we should read to upgrade ourselves.
All the children spoke with poise and the props added exquisiteness to the performance of the young children. The assembly was a successful effort by the young children to make everyone understand the power of reading.

15th September 2018 – Kingdom of Dreams
In order to give a breather of entertainment to the board classes i.e. Xth and XIIth who are always engrossed in academics, the school, in association with the The Times of India arranged a fun-filled day at the Kingdom of Dreams, Gurugram on 15th September, 2018.
The students enjoyed the world class show “Jhumroo” and had a great time at “Cultural Gully”.
The visit proved to be a great way to arouse curiosity in the minds of school students. It was a thrilling and worthwhile outing.

12th September 2018 – Chitraankan Competition
“Aaj syaahi se likh do tum apni pehchaan; Hindi ho tum, Hindi se seekho karna pyaar.”
On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, a drawing competition ‘Chitraankan’ was organized for the students of classes I and II on 12 September 2018. The students participated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm and made beautiful thoughtful drawings. The themes of the competition were ‘Mera Ghar / Mera Vidyalaya / My Family Members’. The competition gave the students an opportunity to showcase their creative skills and to celebrate the bond they share with their school, home and their family members. The activity turned out to be a successful endeavour as the students thoroughly enjoyed this drawing adventure.

11th September 2018 – Special Assembly - Grandparents Day
“Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children."
What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humor, comfort, lessons in life. Grandparents’ are the footsteps to the future generation.A garden of love grow in grandparents’ heart. Grandparents are the delightful blend of laughter, caring deeds, wonderful stories & love. Grandparents always have time for us, when everyone else is too busy.
Class Bloom E presented an assembly on Grandparent’s Day on 11th September 2018. The students talked about importance of grandparents in everyone’s life. They recited a poem on grandparents with full enthusiasm. Children were dressed up as grandparents & few children performed a dance, depicting different activities that a child enjoys with his grandparents. Everyone enjoyed their performance in the assembly.

08th September 2018 – Donation Towards Goonj
Our school has always endeavored to inculcate amongst all, the sensitivity towards the needy and under-privileged members of our society. Be it donating selflessly towards naturals disasters, conducting programmers for children of orphanage or interacting with senior citizens and gaining from their experience, SGS has always given us opportunities to be of service to our society.
Continuing with this endeavor, the students of SGS who took up the SEWA project collected donations towards Goonj’s Rahat Foods Campaign to benefit the people of North Eastern States who have been affected, destroyed and devastated by floods.
The material that was donated included: Blankets, Woolens, Mosquito nets, Dry ration, Toiletries, Utensils, Candles, Kids clothing, Bed sheets, School Material, Tarpaulins/old flex & ropes.

08th September 2018 – 3rd Inter School Speed Skating Championship 2018
The zealous Globalites, who recently participated in the 3rd INTER SCHOOL SPEED SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP 2018 on 8 & 9 September 2018, have brought laurels to the school by winning 10 Gold, 12 Silver and 17 Bronze Medals along with the Ist Position. The event was organized byDwarka Skating Club, Delhi held at Decathion, Metro Walk Mall, Near Rithala Metro Station, Sec. 10, Rohini, New Delhi where the enthralling skaters displayed their skill and efficiency in the true spirit and added yet another feather to the Skating Club of the school.

06th September 2018 – Teacher's Day
One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world. MalalaYousafzai
To teach is to reach out to the innermost faculties of a being and inspiring them to become a better version of their own selves. A teacher brightens up the world of a learner by providing them with all that they need to grow and prosper to achieve their milestones.
Elaborating upon the importance of a teacher, Class Blooms-D presented an informative assembly on the topic- Teacher’s Day on Thursday, 6th September 2018. The little ones recited shlokas like Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu, which was followed by a poem and a dance performance. The close of the assembly saw certificate distribution to the winners of varied competition. The assembly was enjoyed by one and all. It also motivated the teachers present to be a better version of themselves and instilled the feeling of respect in students for their teachers.

06th September 2018 – Inter House Mathematics Quiz
An Inter-house Mathematics Quiz was held on 6thSeptember, 2018. The quiz began with the introduction of the contestants from each team. The different rounds and their rules were displayed on the screen. There were 5 rounds in the competition. The teams participated with great zeal. The questions put forth to the teams were intriguing and exciting. Every round had a mixed bag of questions related to basic math, vedic math, mathematical concepts that are being used in everyday life and logical reasoning. Harmony House won the Competition. Second position was bagged by Glory House. Pride House bagged 3rd position. Everyone cheered for the winning teams and the participants.

05th September 2018 – Special Assembly - International Day of Charity
Students of class V-A presented the morning assembly on the topic- International Day of Charity. The prime purpose of the assembly was to raise awareness for charity related activities.
The assembly started with the news bulletin followed by a speech by the children on the importance of celebrating ‘International Day of Charity’.
The students then presented a skit which showcased the importance of charity in uplifting others life and adding meaning to one’s own life.

31st August 2018 – International Youth Day
Students of VIII-A conducted an assembly on the theme “International Youth Day” on 31st August, 2018. The assembly aimed at explaining the role of the youth for building a Strong Nation. The assembly started by updating everyone with the latest news from around the world and the special attraction was a motivational song presented by students on Youth Day. It was followed by an informative speech conducted by some other students of the class that explained the need of providing ‘Safe Spaces to Youth’, the theme for ‘International Youth Day 2018’. It also explained how safe spaces can help youth in engaging themselves in activities related to their diverse needs and interests. At last, the award winners were acknowledged by the H.O.S – Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar.

30th August 2018 – Special Assembly - Janmashtami
Krishna Janmashtami is also known as Janmashtami or Gokulashtami. It is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu.
Dance-drama enactments of the life of Krishna according to the Bhagavata Purana such as Rasa lila or Krishna Lila, devotional singing through the midnight when Krishna is believed to have been born, fasting, a night vigil (jagarana), and a festival (mahotsava) on the following day are a part of the Janmashtami celebrations. It is celebrated across the country with special celebrations in Mathura and Vrindavan.
To enlighten our children on Janamashtami, class Bloom C presented a colourful assembly on the topic on 30th August 2018. The students shared about when & why we celebrate this festival. They recited a poem on Krishna with full enthusiasm. Girls were beautifully dressed up in traditional attires as radha & gopiyan & boys were dressed up as gwalas. They performed a beautiful dance performance on the song “Kanha So jazara”. Everyone enjoyed their performance in the assembly.

30th August 2018 – English Rhyme Recitation Competition
“Poem Recitation is a mode of expression, a medium to reflect the latent of the young ones.”
Rhymes can prove to be an instrumental stepping stone for young children to develop their verbal skills and boost their confidence.
Keeping this in mind, English Recitation Competition for Buds was organized on the theme ‘MY COUNTRY MY PRIDE “on 30.8.18. The enthusiastic participants showcased varied cultures and traditions of our country and focused on Unity in Diversity. The eye catching props added icing to the cake.

27th August 2018 – Inter House Robotics Competition
An Inter-house Robotics Competition was held on 27th August,2018 .The competition began with the introduction of the contestants from each house-team. The rules of the inter-house competition were announced.The theme of the competition was ‘Save Earth’.All the teams participated in this competition with great enthusiasm. The tasks given to the teams were intriguing and exciting. Every one waited with baited breath for the announcement of the final scores. The Pride House won the Competition by scoring 300 points. Second position was bagged by Harmony House with 175 points. Peace House got 3rd position with 150 points. Everyone cheered for the winning teams.

27th August 2018 – Quiz - Incredible India
India is and will always be an enchanting land. India is a unique country with diversity. It is known for its diversity in region, religion, languages, food, clothes, festivals and everything which uniquely represents the country and its people. India is incredible because of its monuments, forests and the rich cultural heritage that it carries with it. To make the young ones know more about their country and its rich cultural heritage a quiz was organized for the children of class II on Incredible India. Providing every child with the opportunity to be a part of this quiz, the preliminary round of the quiz was completed in the classrooms and students were then selected from each class based on their individual performances. The final round of the quiz was held on 27th August 2018. It was an inter class quiz comprising of 6 teams. The five rounds comprised of slides based on visual input. All the teams gave a tough competition to each other and even a tie breaker round was organized as all the teams performed extremely well in the quiz.

24th August 2018 – Excursion to Air Force Museum
It is always great to expose the children to newer experiences as it arouses their curiosity about the world around them. The students of class 3 of our school got the opportunity to explore the Air Force museum which gave them the chance to understand the great history of our nation. A small trip was organised for them on 24 August 2018 which started off with great enthusiasm and merriment, also it was a new and exciting experience for the young kids.
The Museum Entrance features an indoor display gallery that contains historic photographs, uniforms and personal weapons of the Indian Air Force from its inception in 1932. There is an outdoor gallery too that exhibits aircrafts, several war trophies, equipments and captured enemy vehicles. A walk across the museum made the young children aware about the glorious history of the Indian air force and its war heroes.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the day and returned to the school with wonderful memories and refreshing spirit. It was a thrilling and worthwhile educational outing.

24th August 2018 – Inter House IT Quiz
An Inter-house IT Quiz was held on 24th August, 2018. The quiz began with the introduction of the contestants from each team. The different rounds and their rules were displayed on the screen. There were 5 rounds in the competition. The teams participated with great zeal. The questions put forth to the teams were intriguing and exciting. Every round had a mixed bag of questions related to hardware, software, famous personalities and general knowledge. The competition gave the teams a chance to rack their brains. Everyone waited for the announcement of the final scores. The Peace House won the Competition. Second position was bagged by Pride. Glory House got 3rd position. The students were excited as they got the platform to assess their knowledge level. Everyone clapped and cheered for the winning teams and the participants.

24th August 2018 – India - My Country My Pride
India is our home, it is our nation, it is our pride. India is famous for its great cultural and traditional values all across the world. India is a place that is known for different societies, legacies, numerous dialects and religions. To throw more light on the topic, an Inter class English Rhyme Recitation competition was held on 24th August 2018.The students recited the poems on India, our national flag, soldiers and many more with zeal & enthusiasm. The children were dressed up in different attires like sarees and kurta pyjamas of tricolor. They were carrying tricolor stoles, flags, wrist bands along with different amazing eye-catching props. Every participant presented the poem confidently & with high spirits. It was a tough job for our judges to select the winners. Everyone enjoyed the competition thoroughly.

21st August 2018 – Visit to Iskcon Temple - Classes Buds - Blooms
The students of classes-Buds & Blooms were privileged to visit the ISKCON TEMPLE on 21st August, 2018. ISKCON temple is also known as KRISHNA TEMPLE. The tiny tots worshiped the deitites.The ambience was very peaceful. The priest told the kids about the different idols of lord Krishna in the temple. He also discussed about miraculous incidents of Lord Krishna. He asked various questions to teachers & children. The students enthusiastically chanted the mahamantra of Lord Krishna” HARE RAMA HARE KRISHNA”. The students relished the Prasadam being offered there. They came back happily enriching themselves with spiritual learnings.It was a devotional visit that was enjoyed by both the teachers & children.

21st August 2018 – Special Assembly - Raksha Bandhan
The word Raksha means protection, whilst Bandhan is the bond.
Raksha Bandhan, also known as Rakhi, is an annual festival centered around the tying of a sacred thread, bracelet or talisman on the wrist of the brothers. In turn the brother pledges to protect his sister against all odds & gives a beautiful gift to his sister. It is a bond of love and a ritual of protection between brothers and sisters. It is celebrated on the full moon in the month of Sravana in the lunar calendar.
Class Blooms-B presented an assembly on Raksha Bandhan on 21st August 2018.The students shared about how & when the festival Raksha Bandhan is celebrated. Also, they told about importance of RakshaBandhan- a bond of love between brothers & sisters. They also recited a poem onrakhi with full enthusiasm. The children were dressed up in traditional attire & they performed a beautiful dance on “Phoolon ka taaron ka sabka kehna hai.” Everyone in the assembly enjoyed their performance.

16th August 2018 – Workshop by Winkies
A child’s heart not only seeks knowledge but also yearns for fun and excitement. Keeping this fact in mind, a small workshop was held on 16th August 2018 for the students of class 3 which was organized by winkies. Winkies is a brand that gives a range of cakes with world class quality and mouthwatering taste, that you wouldn’t get anywhere.
The workshop was taken by Ms Manisha and the other volunteers who encouraged the students to inculcate the habit of sharing things with others which will ultimately help them grow into better human beings. She also shared the idea of appreciating and valuing our mothers’ efforts that we often forget to do. Mother is like a security blanket that saves us from all the problems even before it approaches us.
She further asked the students to share their personal experiences where they tried to put an effort to make their mother feel special. All the students participated enthusiastically in this activity.
The happiness and excitement was evident on the children’s faces. At the end of the workshop chocolate cakes were given to the students which made them more joyful.

16th August 2018 – Workshop by Winkies -The Cake Specialist
A workshop by Winkies cake brand was organized for children of classes I and II in the school auditorium on August 16, 2018. Winkies introduced the brand to our little students in a fun filled manner. They talked about “Mother’s Day” and asked the kids to celebrate it every day as our mothers love us every day unconditionally. Winkies cartoon character was loved by children. All the children were given delicious cakes to eat. All the children enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

16th August 2018 – Special Assembly - Being Heroic
Class VIII C conducted an assembly on the theme ‘Being Heroic’. The assembly started by updating everyone with the news from all major arenas. It was followed with a speech which highlighted the importance of heroism in our life and ways to inculcate it. A skit was presented that focused on how heroism means overcoming physical, mental and social challenges in our life. The students connected with the central character, a school girl who doesn’t hesitate to stand up for the truth and doesn’t hesitate to help anyone in need. Then a song and an inspiring poem on ‘Heroism’ was presented to further reinforce the idea that ‘ Heroism is needed to make the world a better place’. Overall the assembly was able to make the students understand that everyone can become a hero by finding the strength to preserve and endure in times of turbulence and helping others in a selfless manner.

14th August 2018 – Special Assembly - Our Cultural Heritage
India has a rich cultural tradition. There is a harmonious blend of art, religion and philosophy in the Indian culture. They are so beautifully interwoven in the fabric of Indian way of life and thought that they are inseparable. Independence Day is annually celebrated on 15 August, in India commemorating the nation's independence from the United Kingdom on 15 August 1947.
Class Blooms –A presented an assembly on Independence Day on 14th August 2018. The students shared about how & when our country got independence. They recited a poem on Independence day with full enthusiasm. Few children were dressed in different attires depicting the different states of India along with a wonderful dance performance of those states. At the end, they had a beautiful formation of Indian Tricolor Flag. Everyone in the assembly enjoyed their performance.

10th August 2018 – Independence Day Celebration
With the view of paying a splendid homage to the martyrs of India, Sachdeva Global School celebrated the glorious occasion of 72nd Independence Day on 10th Aug, 2108. The program began with welcoming the revered dignitaries of the school management followed by the flag hoisting ceremony and an inspirational speech by the Chairman, Shri S.K. Sachdeva. The function was a combined effort of the entire fraternity of Globalites which aimed at spreading the message of the sacrifices of the Warriors. The cultural extravaganza began with an orchestral tribute with the mesmerizing tunes of Ae Watan and Rise India Rise. The pathos of the Indian soldiers and leaders was beautifully exhibited through a spell bounding Mime Act which left the audience awe-struck. The synchronized dance performance on the fusion of semi classical music and the western beats on the tunes of Namaste India was a true display of the unity and strength overpowering the entire country. The memorable moment of releasing the balloons by the chief guests marked the closing of the ceremony with the singing of National Anthem.

09th August 2018 – Young Reporters for Environment
The workshop for Teachers’ Training onYoung Reporters for Environment - Litterless Campaign 2018 took place at Sachdeva Global School in Dwarka, New Delhi. The session was aimed at orienting the teachers of participating schools about the YRE Litterless Campaign 2018. The workshop began with introducing the partner organizations namely Centre for Environment Education (India), Foundation for Environmental Education (Denmark), SAYEN (South Asia Youth Environment Network) and Wrigley Company Foundation.
Over 100 schools from all across India have signed up for the YRE – 2018 Litterless Campaign.
The teachers were then given a set of tasks related to the issue of waste and littering behavior. The tasks were aimed for teachers to inculcate a deeper understanding of the issue among the students in their respective schools. Since the campaign deals with environmental journalism, the teachers were also oriented about the basics of how the knowledge of reporting an issue, proposing feasible solutions, documenting the work and disseminating information can be done by the students in order to raise awareness and take a stand to protect the environment. The entries in the campaign can be given in the form of a photograph, article or a video which can be used to raise awareness, report an issue or propose a solution.
The teachers were also shown the winning entries of the previous campaign to give an overall idea of how the entries are judged nationally as well as internationally. In the concluding part, the teachers were oriented about the rules of the campaign and acceptable formats of the entries which are to be submitted by the students.
The workshop is expected to help the teachers of participating schools in the following way:-
1. It will help brainstorming with the students regarding the issue of waste and littering behavior.
2. The teachers can teach the students how to analyze and report an environmental issue in different forms across different media platforms.
3. It will help the teachers and students know about the importance of journalism in the field of environmental sustainability.
4. The school will have a chance to represent the steps taken by the management and the students in the field of waste management or environmental sustainability on an international platform like SAYEN.

Sharing in all its forms is a truly powerful way to bring happiness. We begin learning to share as soon as we are able to communicate. Often it begins with our parents teaching us the importance of sharing a toy with a friend. Not only does sharing bring us joy, it teaches us the importance of taking care of others. To tell us more about the value of sharing, the students of class I-E presented a wonderful assembly on the topic ‘Sharing is Caring’ on 07 August 2018. The students began with telling the importance of sharing in our lives and the happiness and peace that comes with it. Thereafter, they recited a poem ‘Sharing is caring’ followed by an amazing dance performance on the song ‘Let’s Share’. Everyone present in the audience loved their performance and also got the beautiful message of sharing is caring. The assembly concluded with giving away certificates to the winners of varied competitions and extending birthday wishes to the students.

02nd August 2018 – Progress with Digital India
Students of IX-C presented the Class Assembly on the topic ‘Progress with Digital India’ on 2 August 2018.
In the 21st century, digitization has become a common task in all the sectors. Especially in the service sector, the manual works are replaced by computers. ‘Digital India’, an initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been receiving positive response across the country. This idea of ‘Digital Literacy’ paved the way for the development of digital literacy in a rural village.
The students tried to inspire all towards the progress of India through ‘Digitalization’ by presenting a skit with the vision of India in 2024 the help of interesting props. The Choir group from the class also sung a ‘Digital India’ song.

An Inter house AD-MAD competition on the topic “Healthy Living” was organized for classes III-V on 1 August, 2018. One group comprising of 5 students each participated from the four houses. The students prepared creative advertisements to promote healthy living. This competition was a way to instill the idea of a healthy lifestyle in the young mind of the students.
With a blend of simplicity in creativity and catchy punch lines, the students made their adverts cling to the minds of the audience. Students and teachers contributed heartily by boosting the confidence of the participants with their cheers and giggles.
The first position was bagged by Harmony house with an outstanding performance. The second position was attained by Pride house, whereas, Glory house and Peace house jointly held the third position.

01st August 2018 – Youth Parliament 2018
A prestigious event of youth parliament was organised by ‘Utthan Satta- the power of words’, at Delhi University North Campus, by the Social Science Department.
Twenty six students from Sachdeva Global School from classes VI to XI participated in the event as various ministers to discuss some of the major issues that have gripped the country, as a part of their respective committees. The entire experience enriched the intellectual experience of the students as they debated with students of various schools.
Many dignitaries and Member of Parliament were also present to motivate the students. Mr. Varun Gandhi addressed the students and ignited their minds to develop their argumentative skills. Jazbia of class VIII-C and Divyanshi of class VII-B also got verbal recognition and certificate for the same.

SGS conducted a mock drill on 1st Aug, 2018. The teachers ensured that no time was wasted in evacuating the building immediately after the siren was heard. Once the students & staff assembled in the ground, the student leaders explained to the students the use of different extinguishers. The students were also told about the various precautions they needed to take in such an emergency. The drill aimed at ensuring that the students & staff are alert and quick in case of a disaster.

31st July 2018 – Inventions that changed the World
“Invention is a process; you don’t get there overnight.”
Over the years that the humans have walked upon the earth there have been countless technological innovations, some dating back to the Stone Age. Although the ancient world didn’t have all the resources that we have today, the people of those times did magnificent things that paved the road for us today. To tell us more about such inventions, the students of class I-D presented an informative assembly on the topic ‘Inventions that Changed the World’ on 31 July, 2018.
The students spoke about the different inventions and their inventors. The students were divided into two teams who then asked riddles from each other, the answers of which were the names of the inventions. Thereafter, they gave a dance performance on the song ‘Edison Ne Bulb Banaya; Graham Bell Ne Phone’ to which the students grooved amazingly. The assembly was concluded with giving birthday wishes to the students

31st July 2018 – Vedatya Inter School Competition
Inter-School Competitions related to marketing, event management and entrepreneurship were held at Vedatya institute, Gurgaon from 5th to 8th June 2018, where more than 30 school from Delhi/NCR participated. The students of our school from classes XI and XII took part in all the competitions with great enthusiasm and fervor.
A group of four students from the Class XII qualified for the second round in the entrepreneurship competition, which took place on 31 July 2018. Their hard work paid off as they were awarded with Rs.10000 as seed money to invest in their business venture.
All the judges and teachers appreciated the effort of our students and applauded them. It helped the students to enrich their confidence. Principal, Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar, congratulated and admired the diligent efforts put in by the participants.

28th July 2018 – Annual School Exhibition - 2018
On July 28, 2018, our school presented yet another edition of its “Annual School Exhibition”. Till only a few years ago, the exhibition used to display only a few Science models and related exhibits, but this year’s exhibition was a true display of our students great energies and creativity in areas beyond Science. The exhibition this year had over 150 models and exhibits on display, with topics related to Mathematics, Science, Computer Science and Robotics, Social Sciences and even languages, though science exhibits continued to dominate as usual.
When students put together their scientific thoughts and unlimited creativity, what churns out is an “out of the box idea”. This year was no different. Models and exhibits related to diverse topics such as- sound, smart cities, plant and human anatomy, generating electricity using chemical cells or a dynamo, etc, were on display, but the highlight of them all was a working model on fractional distillation. These models were not only a treat to watch but also a clear display of the students’ keenness to learn through innovative means.
Students were seen explaining these exhibits with great enthusiasm and vigour.
Closely followed by science, were some beautiful exhibits from the field of Mathematics. Math in daily lives was this year’s theme for the department.
This year also saw a display of innovative efforts of students from the social science department. Students from classes III to IX covered diverse topics such as India and its lifestyle, the solar system and major landforms across the World. Some of these exhibits seemed quite real.
The IT and the Robotics section saw an even larger contribution than ever before. Exhibits displaying “evolution of modern day technologies”, “network topologies” and “cyber security” presented a lot of information. Students also displayed their creativity and learning through movies, presentations and websites designed and created by them. This year the students also displayed programmable bots and a prototype of the home automation solution.
The language departments were not far behind. Both Sanskrit and French departments had more exhibits than ever before. Exhibits from the French department which included the great Eiffel tower, TGV fast trains, Louvre Museum, Disneyland, etc., mesmerized the audience with their beautiful recreation of France and its culture. The Sanskrit department presented exhibits on social themes such as- “girl education”, “controlling pollution”, “keeping your city clean”. They also displayed some works of famous Sanskrit poets and writers.
Overall this year’s Annual exhibition was a great display of ideas, creativity and the student’s desire to learn.

27th July 2018 – Workshop for Teachers on Strengthening Hindi Language Skills
‘Hindi humari matr bhasha hai, matr ek bhasha nahi’
Respecting our roots is what takes us closer to our goals sooner. Talking about the importance of language in a country goes a long way in instilling the feeling of pride among the countrymen. At SGS, regular upgradation not only occurs in the systems software, but also in the quality of our teaching faculty. Ms. Sarita Dabas, a learned Hindi faculty here, took us all through the unlearning and learning of varied intricate concepts of hindi language on Saturday, 27 July 2018. Teachers of classes- Buds-II were involved in this session right from the beginning, which touched upon the topics like Hindi varnamala, barah khadi, sounds of different Hindi letters and their new age versions of writing, which is quite in sync with the technology. The session could be seen as a success and has definitely strengthened the skill sets of the participating teachers.

27th July 2018 – Fancy Dress Competition – Fantasy World
A fantasy is a pleasant situation or event that a child usually think about and that he want to happen, especially one that is unlikely to happen. Fantasy is very different from real life, usually involving magic.Grade- Blooms held their Fancy Dress competition with ‘Fantasy’ as the theme on 27 July, 2018. It was an immense pleasure to watch our little kindergarteners dressed up as their favourite Fantasy world character. The students came forward in their costumes & spoke on the character they were dressed up as. To name a few were Princess, Fireman , Mini mouse, Aladdin, Army man, Doraemonand many more. Their efforts & hard work were highly commendable &appreciable. They all participated in the competition with high spirits. Everyone enjoyed the competition thoroughly.

27th July 2018 – Inter House Dress Designing Competition
Inter class dress designing competition was organized for classes VI - IX on 27 July 2018. One group participated from each house comprising of 4 students. 3 students prepared the dress and modeling it. Students used various types of wastes for making dresses in order to beautify their models and exhibited their skills of art and craft.
It was an innovative way of instilling the technique of optimum utilization of waste which proved to be highly beneficial and creative.

24th July 2018 – Technology - Boon or Bane
“Technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master.” – Christian Louis Lange
Technology is one of the greatest inventions of mankind. It is so powerful that it has the capability of shaping our minds and our way of life within no time. It is ever evolving. It is a tool that helps in making our lives easier but it is time humans decide where to draw the line. Mother Nature has blessed us with many gifts which we so eagerly neglect because of our over dependence on technology. To tell us more about the advantages and disadvantages of technology, the students of class I-C presented an informative assembly on the topic ‘Technology - Boon or Bane’. The students spoke lines in favour of and against technology in turns. They gave an important message that we should be aware about the pros and cons of technology. They also insisted on the fact that technology should only be used for the benefit of society. Thereafter, they sang a song that depicted the importance and usefulness of technology. The assembly concluded with extending birthday wishes to the students.

24th July 2018 – Educational Excursion to National Museum
An educational excursion was organized for the students of class VII on 24 July 2018 to “The National Museum, Delhi” by the Times of India under its “NIE Program”. It was meant to empower students about the royal history of our country and explore the extensive works of art and culture in the past.
The students took a tour of galleries like Pre-Historic Archaeology, Archaeology, Manuscripts, Numismatics & Epigraphy, Paintings, Arms & Armour, and Decorative arts among various others. The journey was made more informative and enriching by the trained guides who acquainted students with knowledge about historic times.
Students learnt that the museum has in its possession approximately 2 lakh works of exquisite art of diverse nature, both Indian and foreign and its holdings cover a time span of more than 5000 years of our cultural heritage. Students were astounded to see the rich ivory crafts works, paintings, sculpture and intricate designs on the textiles from the historical times of India.
The visit proved to be a great way to arouse curiosity in the minds of school students. It was a thrilling and worthwhile educational outing.

24th July 2018 – Sankalp Sahodaya Inter School Meet 2018
The zealous Globalites who recently participated in Sankalp Sahodaya Inter-School Meet Taekwon-Do on 24th and 25th July 2018 have brought laurels to the school by winning 2 silver and 1 bronze medal. The event was organized by Mount Carmel School, Dwarka, Delhi where the enthralling players displayed their skill and efficiency in the true spirit and added yet another feather to the Taekwon-Do Club of the school.

23rd July 2018 – Drawing Competition- Trees for Life
A Drawing Competition was organized for classes I and II on 23July 2018 to enhance the creative faculties of the students. To maintain the uniformity and ensure equal opportunity, sheets and colours were distributed from the school itself. The participants explored their imagination and creativity and depicted their thoughts in the most appealing manner. Each student showcased his/her skills beautifully and prepared colorful drawings on the given topic- “Trees for Life”. All the students enjoyed this fun filled session a lot.

20th July 2018 – Magic Mania
Nothing fascinates a child more than a magic trick. The students of class V were filled with excitement and wonder as they made a brief foray into the magic world on July 20, 2018. A wonderful Magic Show had been organized for the students that challenged their logical faculties, as they tried understanding the secrets behind the tricks shown. The magician made them laugh and gasp in astonishment through his tricks. The mystery and esotericism shrouding the realms of magic made it even more alluring for the children. The students were completely involved as each trick began with them chanting the magic spells.The student and even teacher volunteers participated enthusiastically. At the end, some of the wonderful techniques were explained to the students to help them mesmerise their parents with their magic at home.

17th July 2018 – Being Generous and Helpful
“Being generous of spirit is a wonderful way to live” – Pete Seeger
Generosity is not god-gifted. It is an attribute that an individual develops with time. It brings balance in the life of the individuals as a result of which they are bound to achieve unimaginable success in their lives. To tell us more about it, the students of class I B presented an informative assembly on the topic ‘Being Generous and Helpful’ on 17 July, 2018.
The students welcomed everyone with a poem ‘Happiness is - if you give; it comes around’. Thereafter they presented a wonderful skit that showed how we can help one another by sharing a little of what we have. Everyone present in the audience enjoyed the performance. The assembly concluded with giving birthday wishes to the students.

13th July 2018 – Pointillism Art
Pointillism is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. It is also called as the “Dot art”. Keeping this mind this creative form of art was first taught to the students than inter house competition was held where student show cased their creative and artistic ability. The theme of the competition was “Nature” each house participated with three students who individually painted scene.

12th July 2018 – YOGA – A Way of Healthy Living
“Yoga is like life, it’s a balance of holding on and letting go.”
Yoga is a group of physical, mental and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India. As such, its benefits are only perceived to be at the body level and we fail to realize the immense benefits yoga offers in uniting the body, mind and breath. When we are in harmony, the journey through life is calmer, happier and more fulfilling. To tell us more about yoga and its benefits, the students of class I-A presented an informative assembly on the topic ‘Yoga – A Way of Healthy Living’ on 12 July, 2018.
The students told about the importance of yoga in our lives and spoke about the different types of asanas and their effectiveness. Also, the students recited a poem on ‘Yoga’ followed by the miscellaneous formations which was cherry on the cake. Everyone present in the audience enjoyed the performance. The assembly was concluded with giving birthday wishes to the students.

11th July 2018 – Inter House Science Quiz Competition (Classes III - V)
An Inter House Science Quiz Competition was held for classes III-V on 11th July 2018. There were four teams comprising of three participants, one each from classes III, IV and V.The competition comprised of four rounds namely visual, buzzer, guess the scientist and rapid fire. Every round of the quiz was a mixed bag, with questions ranging from the oldest to the latest contributions of scientists, History of Science, etc. Rapid fire round gave other teams, a chance to catch-up with the leading team and turned the tables around.
It was heart-warming to see the children brimming with enthusiasm and exuberance as they vied with the others to answer questions that required explanation and reasoning.The quiz ended with the declaration of the results. Peace and Harmony Houses bagged the first position followed by Glory House, in the second position and Pride House in third.
All the students enjoyed the quiz thoroughly and found it a great learning experience.

10th July 2018 – Trees for Life : Celebrating Van Mahotsav
Van Mahotsav is an annual tree-planting festival in India, celebrated in the first week of July every year. This movement was initiated in the year 1950 by India’s then Union Minister for Agriculture, Kulapati Dr. K.M. Munshi.
Van Mahotsav means ‘the festival of forest’ and this festival spreads the awareness among people and portrays the need of planting of trees, as all life directly or indirectly owes its existence to trees. This festival has gained immense national importance and every year, millions of saplings are planted all across India in observation of Van Mahotsav week.
To spread awareness about the importance of trees, students of class II-C conducted the morning assembly on “Trees for life: Celebrating Van Mahotsav” on 10 July 2018. The students used slogans and props to tell us how trees play an important role in our life. Students emphasized upon the importance of planting trees and encouraged everybody present there to do the same. Students also explained that trees are one of the best ways to prevent global warming and reduce pollution. Class II presented catchy slogans and also recited a poem “DHARTI KI BAS YAHI PUKAR… PEDH LAGAO BARAMBAR” to explain the importance of planting trees. All the students of class II C participated in the assembly and spoke upon the need of preventing the cutting down of trees and creating more forests.

28th June 2018 – Big Book as A Tool for Effective Learning and Phonics Workshop
Learning in the life of a toddler plays a crucial role in their holistic development. Stressing upon the importance of learning through varied tools, a recent workshop for teachers was organised for the teachers of SGS by a learned faculty Ms. Ira Sehgal from Scholastic organisation on 28th June 2018. She elaborated on the appropriate usage of the Reading- learning tools- Big book and Small book. She also stressed upon the importance of possessing an effective phonic understanding, which makes a major impact on the little ones evergrowing diction. She made the session interesting for the attending teachers by engaging them in an interactive activity, wherein they elaborated the given story using the Big book tool. The session was immensely useful for the teachers and enhanced their skill set manifolds.

27th June 2018 – Student Teacher Rapport
Coming back after a long summer break was refreshing and commencing our schedules with a positive thinking workshop was more than a treat. Such workshops, wherein everyone gets to probe within themselves and explore their mental and emotional make up are rare in today’s times. In order to ensure this, a workshop on “Student Teacher Rapport” was organized by Mrs. Sunita Malkhani on 27th June. This workshop explained the purpose of effective communication and inter-personal skills within the working of an institution. The session was initiated by the guest lecturer through an open house activity wherein all the teachers were requested to be at ease with them. She further elaborated on skills which help us to- attend to relationships, balance priorities versus demands, 'wants' and 'needs', with respect to child psychology and overall build a sense of mastery and self-respect. Understanding our minds better, managing our thoughts, relationship between the educator and the pupil were few areas which were explored and engrained in this session. The workshop was successful in motivating each teacher to understand, empathize with and treat each student as a distinct personality with specific personality traits. The teachers felt refreshed and had a keen sense of pride in their role in society.

26th June 2018 – Workshop on Brain Based Learning
SGS organized a workshop on ‘Brain Based Learning’ in association with HT. It focused on how methods like Problem-based learning (PBL) can be used to enhance the learning experience for students. It emphasized how students learn about a subject through the experience of solving an open-ended problem found in trigger material. The PBL process does not focus on problem solving with a defined solution, but it allows for the development of other desirable skills and attributes. The process allows learners to develop skills like critical appraisal, literature retrieval and ongoing learning within a team environment. The process involves clarifying terms, defining the problem, brainstorming, structuring and hypothesis, learning objectives, independent study and synthesis. In short, it is identifying what they already know, what they need to know, and how and where to access new information that may lead to the resolution of the problem. The role of the teacher was stressed as he/she needs to facilitate learning by supporting, guiding, and monitoring the learning process. This build students' confidence when addressing problems, while also expanding their understanding.

25th June 2018 – Abacus Workshop for Teachers
Learning is a never ending process and we start to learn and experience even before we enter this world. And when we are in a profession which is directly related to touching upon lives of the future generations, we as teachers are in constant urge of learning and upskilling ourselves. An in-house workshop for our mathematics faculty and teachers of classes Buds-II was organised on 25 June 2018, keeping inview the need of the hour that is to upgrade ourselves for the competitive world. The session was headed by Ms Mitali and Ms Manka. They elaborated on the usage of ABACUS - an interesting mathematical tool for solving difficult numeric problems. The session saw the participating teachers reflecting on their skills and pushing themselves to learn new ways of effective teaching.

10th May 2018 – Workshop on Cell Biology and Haemotology
Workshop on Cell biology and hematology was conducted in SACHDEVA GLOBAL SCHOOL by EDUDAP on 10 MAY 2018. Workshop was conducted for class XII biology students. It was an enriching experience for students that provided extended and experiential learning in the fields of cytology and hematology.
Workshop was conducted by experienced trainers that guided the students for completion of experiments. Experiments included Barr body detection, Gram staining, Components of blood, Rhfactor, Blood grouping, Hemoglobin count. Workshop was accompanied by a presentation and handy protocol for students. Students were very inquisitive and hurdled several queries at the trainers. It was an enriching experience for students that used new techniques and instruments for completion of their experiments.

09th May 2018 – Inter House Math Quiz
“Mathematics may not teach us how to add happiness or how to subtract sorrows. But it gives us every reason to hope that every problem has a solution.”
To assess the mathematical skills, aptitude and proficiency of the students, Sachdeva Global School conducted the Inter House Math Quiz for the students of classes III to V on 9th May, 2018. It was an attempt to prepare young minds for a journey to the world of mathematics. Three students from each house participated in the quiz. It created an opportunity for the children to showcase their skills and potential on a common platform. Various rounds like logical reasoning, puzzles, vedic math and rapid fire were held.
Some questions were posed to the audience to which they answered enthusiastically. Overall, it was an enriching , interesting and fun filled activity. Glory House grabbed the first position with an outstanding performance. The second position was held by Harmony House, whereas, the third and fourth positions were bagged by Peace and Pride House respectively.

08th May 2018 – Assembly - Sultry Summers
‘Summer’ the moment we hear this word, a variety of things start running in our mind like ice - creams, yummy shakes and drinks, juicy fruits and yes, not to forget the bright sunny days. Summer is the hottest of the four seasons, falling between spring and autumn. To enlighten uson the same, students of class II-D presented an informative assembly on the topic ‘Sultry Summers’ on 8th May 2018.
The assembly commenced with the ‘Thought of the Day’. Thereafter, the students spoke about the cycle of seasons, importance of each season and activities related to summer season. They also shared the ways by which we can keep ourselves fit and healthy in this season. They recited a wonderful poem on summer season. It was followed by the distribution of certificates for various interschool and interclass competitions held for classes Blooms to II. The assembly was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.

02nd May 2018 – Our Unsung Heroes
There are many people who help us in our daily lives and are known as community helpers. They perform jobs that help improve the overall well being of the community. Community helpers are very important; they keep the community safe and healthy, make life better for the people, and help the community function more efficiently. To tell us more about our helpers, the students of class II-E presented an assembly on the topic ‘Our Unsung Heroes’ on 2 May 2018. The students were dressed up as different helpers like doctor, teacher, policeman, farmer etc and spoke about the importance of each helper in the community. Thereafter, the students a poem on ‘our helpers’, and gave the message that no work is big or small and one should respect all kinds of job.
The assembly concluded with giving away of medals. Ranveer Kashayap of class II-D bagged a gold medal in the International Olympiad of English Language and a silver medal in the International Olympiad of Science. Arkita (I-B), Aarav (I-B), Siya (I-C) and Vandita (I-E) secured the second position in the 14th Ramjas Inter School Table Tennis Tournament. They received a trophy and each student was awarded a bag and a certificate.

28th April 2018 – Health Camp in School
Sachdeva Global School organized blood pressure and random blood sugar checkup for parents and paediatric consultation for students for classes Buds – IX, in collaboration with Manipal Hospital, Dwarka. The camp was held on Saturday, 28 April 2018 and Saturday 5 May 2018.

26th April 2018 – Assembly on World Book Day
Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world. — Malala Yousafza
With this profound thought the students of class X-C of Sachdeva Global School conducted the assembly on “World Book Day” on 26 April 2018 with the message that books are the vessels by which all other forms of education are carried.
The purpose of the assembly was to sensitize the students towards the importance of books as a book has much significance that only the reader can fathom –When we read, we learn new words, literary terms, we enrich our own vocabulary and we gain knowledge not just about ourselves but also about our surroundings which includes different people and their culture, nature, history and so on. This kind of knowledge helps us to better understanding of the world around us.
The assembly started with the school prayer followed by news headlines and the thought for the day, the students also highlighted the message through author enactment, skit and poetry recitation. The assembly was based upon encouraging the mind-set in the audience to inculcate effective reading and writing habits.

21st April 2018 – Visit by the Manipal Hospital Consultants
Manipal Hospital Dwarka, conducted a wellness camp at Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka on 21-4-2018. The camp aimed at providing an insight into the medical issues that have become a serious concern especial for the working women. The camp was organized by Mr. Ankur Jain, coordinator Manipal Hospitals, Dwarka and led by Dr. Yashica Gudesar, senior gynecologist and obstetrician at the hospital. Dr. Yashica has been practicing for the last 20 years in various government and renowned private hospitals in Delhi.
The session stared with an extremely informative talk by Dr. Yashica Gudesar. Dr. Yashica elaborated on various gynecological issues and areas of concerns for women in different age groups. Her talk was followed by a candid question answer session with all the staff members.
This was followed by a free camp to check BP and sugar levels for the staff members. The staff also had the opportunity to have a one-to-one session with Dr. Yashica Gudesar to discuss any concerns or queries. The camp started at 11:30 AM and went on until 2:00 PM
The session helped us understand ourselves better.

19th April 2018 – Class XII - Career Workshop
On 19th April, 2018 class XII along with their teachers were taken to a career workshop organized by Jitin Chawal’s Centre for Career Development at Sirifort auditorium. The objective of the workshop was to help the students of class XII make a decision regarding their career plans. The workshop started with Mr. Jitin Chawla’s talk, an eminent career counselor and educationist, he mentioned about various courses, professional institutes, universities and their eligibility criterion and the importance of building resumes. Another important speaker was the Director of Career Services at University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Mr. Rituraj Juneja, he enlightened the audience with the introduction of a new industry, the petroleum industry and the various courses it had to offers.
The highlight of the event was the talk by Dr. Aruna Broota, a clinical psychologist and a retired Delhi University professor; she emphasized the different techniques of studying smart instead of studying hard. The workshop was informative as it provided an insight to the students on ways and strategies to devise in order to plan ahead and what to choose from a plethora of career options.

18th April 2018 – Visit to Bio Diversity Park
Students of class IX-A, IX-B, IX-C were accompanied by teachers Ms.Nishtha Talwar, Ms. Aman Arora Nangia and Ms. Deepti Jain for an educational excursion to ‘Aravali Biodiversity Park’. Students were guided and informed about medicinal plants and their uses in modern day Ayurveda.
This was followed by a zone of artificially created rainforest which included different flora species. Students had the chance to come across the Bat and butterfly conservatory where they were showed many butterfly species at different life stages. They also visited orchid observatory and learned many facts about forest life. The students were also shown a movie that captured the growth and development of the Bio-diversity Park in the last decade.

17th April 2018 – Celebrating Earth Day
Our planet Earth is truly a magnificent place and an incredibly vibrant ecosystem. Earth day is day that is intended to inspire awareness and appreciate Earth's natural environment. It is celebrated on 22nd April every year. To celebrate this day in our school, the students of class 2A presented anassembly on the topic Earth Day. The students spoke about the conservation of nature and environment and how we can protect our planet from destruction. They sang lively song dedicated to the ‘Mother Earth’. It was also emphasized that it is our responsibility towards mother nature as Global Citizen so as to protect it from deterioration and keep it green and clean. It was an informative assembly which helped the students to learn lot about conservation of environment.

17th April 2018 – Visit to National Science Centre
SGS organized an educational trip for Class VIII to the National Science Centre, Delhi on 17th April. The visit proved to be a great way to arouse curiosity in the minds of school students and was a thrilling and motivating experience. The students took a tour of the following galleries- Water- the elixir of life, Hall of nuclear power, Our science and technology heritage, Human biology, Pre-historic life, Fun science, Information revolution, Emerging technologies-Space Technology, Information and Communication Technology, Medical and Biotechnology, Oceanography and Earth Sciences, Agricultural Technology, Material Science, Nanotechnology, Energy and Transportation Technology. The galleries showcased a plethora of exhibits that covered various topics. Magic tap, stingless piano, Tesla coils, energy ball, marine and freshwater aquariums were the main attractions at the Science Centre. The students also saw an informative movie - Inside a Nuclear Power Plant (by NPCIL). The Science Centre provided a whole world of wonder and amazement with 137 interactive hands-on exhibits. The students were excited to observe the various exhibits which provided hands on experience of science concepts. Wrestling the gorilla arm, virtual makeup, find the direction of sound, walking through the mirror maze, infinity well, animated dinosaurs, responding to electric shock, lifting a lid against an electromagnet and many others caught the attention of students instantly and they thoroughly enjoyed being part of these fun filled activities.

On 13 April 2018 class III and IV along with their teachers were treated with a fun filled Puppet Show organized by HT in the school auditorium. The show was based on the topic “Jungle mein ek naya din” and it revolved around the daily life of the animals that lived in the jungle. The messages behind the story, which was set in the massive landscape, were of teamwork and victory of the good despite many hurdles.

03rd April 2018 – Welcome Assembly (Buds - II)

Coming together is just the beginning of a beautiful life ahead. With the new session kicking in and keeping the excitement quotient high, the teachers of classes Buds to Class II conducted Welcome Assembly for the students on Tuesday, 3 April 2018. The teachers presented the poem 'My School My Pride' in which different aspects of the school along with the availability of facilities and labs at SGS were highlighted. Thereafter, the teachers recited fun filled rhymes that were enjoyed by one and all. The assembly ended with a thrilling dance performance on the ‘Welcome’ song. Our Head of the school, Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar wished the young learners a great time ahead and scale higher in their academic journey.

02nd April 2018 – Welcome Assembly for Students
Teachers of Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka hosted a beautiful Welcome Assembly on 2 April ’18.
The assembly initiated with the teachers reciting the school prayer followed by thought, news and the weather update. This was accompanied by a motivational pep talk by Ms. Pooja Batra that instilled in the students the feeling of belongingness for school while sharing with students steps to achieve success in life. She emphasized on recapitulation and time management.
The talk was followed by an enthralling poem recitation by Ms. Priyanka Ahuja, which charged up the student and gave a perfect kick start to the session.
In her address to the students the Principal, Ms Sumana Dutta Sarkar congratulated Harmony house for bagging the rolling trophy for the last sessions also, she motivated the students to seek opportunities, manage time and excel in whatever field they choose. The assembly saw many children walk back to their classrooms with bright faces, eager to witness what else the current session had in store for them.

24th March 2018 – Orientation Programme 2018
Saturday, 24 March 2018 saw a beautiful addition to our Sachdeva Global Family. Looking earnestly forward in catering to every requirement of our new parent fraternity here, We organised an Orientation programme, showcasing and elaborating on a range of topics ranging from our International infrastructural facilities to smart education tools to innovative teaching pedagogies. Teachers and students presented a beautiful show commencing with our teachers involving our parent fraternity in their fun filled activities, making learning joyful experience. Catering to the kindergarten topics, right from the phonic drill to the blends, talking about shapes in Mathematics, Hindi Varnmala Geet to our regular feature Summarization helped the parents to understand the learning procedures adopted at SGS in a better way.
The programme closed with our Head of the school Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar taking the baton of 'Successful Parenting' head on and addressing to some crucial aspects of the this joy of being a parent. And truly the messaged evolved as

16th March 2018 – Junior Annual Day
Life's a tragedy seen in closeup, but a comedy in long shot.

Humour is an integral part of our living. Sachdeva Global School hosted their Junior Annual Day - 'The Flop Show' on 16 March 2018 with the intent of livening up our lives yet again with the little ones performing on stage. Aged three to seven, such young talents showcased their skill on the topics ranging from Cartoon world, to Bollywood and Politics. Each one dealt with such finery with the hint on comedy, made this annual event a huge success. The show commenced with the Head of the school, Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar presenting the hard earned achievements in our Annual School Report, which was followed by the Award ceremony, felicitating our meritorious globalites.
True that Excellence has no limits and Sachdeva Global School has proved yet another time that humour and comedy is not only the arena of adults and 'The Flop Show' validated the grit and vigour of our young adults that they are no less than the grown ups. The show saw our audiences enthralling with enthusiasm and laughter.

25th February 2018 – Technovations - Tryst 2018
Two students Sarthak Tagra and Saransh Sharma of class XI Science participated in “Technovations”, TRYST 2018, the annual technical fest of IIT-Delhi. In the first round students submitted an abstract on the topic ‘Smart city for the disabled’ and got selected for the second round. Final PPT round was an on stage PPT presentation which was held on 25 February at IIT-Delhi. The idea presented by the students was appreciated by judges and audience. It was a great learning experience for them as they explored different kind of disabilities and the ways to enable the differently abled.

22nd February 2018 – GLOBAL MINDSET- A PREREQUISITE FOR SUCCESS IN THE FAST CHANGING WORLD!

The students of classes III-A and B presented the morning assembly on 22 February 2018 on the topic- ‘Global Mindset- A Prerequisite for Success in the Fast Changing World’. The assembly started with the news bulletin followed by a speech on the relevance of the topic. The students presented a skit emphasizing the significance of developing a global mind. The achievements of the Indian leaders like Sundar Pichai, Ratan Tata, Indra Nooyi and our honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, who have brought tremendous fame to the country with their progressive approach, were also showcased. The assembly motivated all the students to develop an advanced mindset in order to become efficacious individuals.

21st February 2018 – Good Health is the Best Health
‘Good Health is the Best Wealth’
A workshop on ‘The Importance of Intestinal Health’ was conducted by Yakult Danone on 21 February 2018 for classes III and IV to educate them about the healthy dietary habits. They were informed about the role of good bacteria and probiotics in maintaining a sound intestinal health. They were also explained the same using a model of the human digestive system. A related video was shown to deliver the fine details in a fun filled manner. Yakult bottles were distributed to the children at the end of the session. The children found the workshop very informative and useful.

08th February 2018 – Assembly On Ancient Languages of the World (Classes VI – VIII)

Language is the blood of the soul into which thoughts run and out of which they grow. An assembly on the topic-Ancient languages, was conducted by the members of the ISA group. The assembly was a collaborative effort of all the members of the ISA group, which aimed at appreciation and significance of the ancient languages. The assembly started with the news bulletin followed by a speech on the significance and relevance of the topic. The assembly mainly focused on the three languages-Sanskrit, Latin and Spanish. Students enacted a thought-provoking skit, depicting the relevance and importance of Sanskrit language. Followed by this, a Spanish song and speech on Latin Language were presented. The assembly was indeed an eye-opener for everyone. The birthdays of the week were then announced and the award winners acknowledged. The assembly ended with the enlightening words by the Head of School – Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar.
