Green School Award 09th January 2019 – Green School Award

Sachdeva Global School has always been an active and effective force in conserving environment. We ensure that our students are sensitive to and feel responsible for nurturing, preserving and reserving the environment for the future generations.

Adjudged as a green school of the country since 2010, we have consistently been improving and deploying pragmatic solutions under all verticals of environmental upkeep i.e. Air, Water, Food, Waste, Energy and Land.

This year we focused on Energy Conservation, Waste Management and Waste Reduction. The GSP team introduced and installed ‘In House Automation System’ in various classes in school for power conservation. The school got one ‘Sanitary Incinerator’ installed in the senior girls’ washroom with an indefinite capacity of burning sanitary napkins. The students of our school have created a website for buying, selling, sharing, exchanging and donating old and used books which will be hosted on Amazon soon.

The GSP team has made pioneering efforts to make the plastic extinct from school. The utensils in the school cafeteria as well as all serving dishes have been converted from plastic to stainless steel. All plastic glasses being used at water dispensers have been replaced with paper cups.

The school has switched from tube lights to LEDs and we are aiming to go completely solar in near future by installing more roof top solar panels to generate electricity not only for the entire school but for the northern grid as well.

All the efforts of the GSP team under the valuable guidance of the Honorable Head of the School, Ms. Sumana Dutta to sustain the school as environment efficient bear fruits yet again as the CSE announced Sachdeva Global School as ‘ A GREEN SCHOOL  again this year! This year CSE shortlisted only 118 schools out of a total of 1696 schools that submitted the GSP Audit 2018 all over India as Green Schools! We stand in the top 13 schools from Delhi/NCR to be rated as a green school by CSE.
