29th to 30th September 2010 – Dussehra
Vijayadashami is a festival celebrated in varying forms across INDIA.
It is the culmination of the ten days annual Navaratri festival when the idols of Ravana, his brother Kumbhakarna and son Meghanad are erected and burnt by enthusiastic youths at sunset. This marks the victory of good over evil.
This festival was celebrated in our school with pomp and gaiety. A special assembly was presented by the students of Class IV. Students dressed up as Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman and the Vanar Sena, enacted the legendary triumph of Lord Rama over the demon king, Ravana. They also acquainted the audience with the historical relevance of the event in the form of an article and poem
To reinforce this message on the young minds, the students of Class – IB portrayed the mythological characters of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita and performed enthusiastically in their Special Assembly on Thursday, 30th September 2010. The Assembly was an enriching experience for all the children which enhanced their knowledge on Indian festivals.
28 सितम्बर - हिंदी कार्यशाला
बाल भारती स्कूल द्वारका में आयोजित हिंदी कार्यशाला में हिंदी अध्यापिकाओं नें भाग लिया | यह कार्यशाला 'मेवन हिंदी शैक्षिक मंच' के तत्वाधान में आयोजित की गई | इस कार्यशाला को प्रसिद्ध डॉ. रवि शर्मा एवं डॉ. ओम प्रकाश शर्मा 'मृदुल' नें संबोधित किया | कार्यशाला के विचारणीय विषय थे :-
1. हिंदी भाषा का रुचिकर शिक्षण
2. सतत एवं समग्र मूल्यांकन पर चर्चा
इसके अतिरिक्त हिंदी भाषा के मानक रूप तथा वर्तनी पर चर्चा, हिंदी भाषा क नवीनतम शिक्षण विधियों से पूर्ण रूपेण परिचय तथा नई नई शोध सामग्री से अवगत कराया गया | कार्यशाला के अंतिम चरण के संबोधक तथा शिक्षकों / शिक्षिकाओं के बीच द्विपक्षीय संवाद का अवसर प्रदान किया गया | इस संवाद के माध्यम से सम्बोधकों ने भ्रामक बिन्दुओं तथा शिक्षण सम्बन्धी समस्याओं का निवारण किया | यह कार्यशाला हिंदी भाषा के सरल तथा रोचक शिक्षण में अवश्य मार्ग प्रशस्त्र करेंगे |
27th September 2010 – Action Song Competition
The Golden age for memory is between ages 5-9. At this age, a child can memorize more quickly and remember for a longer time than at any other age. Poems and verses use words to paint word pictures and nursery rhymes help to activate that awareness.
Children of Classes – Buds and Blooms participated with full zeal in ACTION SONG COMPETITION held in school. They were dressed in relevant costumes complemented by their beautiful props. They were confident and full of life while performing their favourite action songs.
“Nursery rhymes live on as common to memory as the season, and as familiar to children as the rain and spring flowers.”

25th September 2010 – Film Screening For Faculty
In its efforts to provide a refreshing break from work, the school organised the Screening of a film “For Real” for its staff. The film is an award winner directed by Sona Jain.
The movie beautifully tackles issues of a growing up child and her parents. It shows life through eyes of a little child and does that poignantly. “For Real” is intriguing, heart wrenching and above all, it makes us pause and think. It is a sensitive story with lot of heart.
Such movies help in understanding and resolving the problems of children in such situations.
21st September 2010 – Common Wealth Games Wall
The students of Sachdeva Global School, under the supervision of teachers made a Common Wealth Games 2010 Wall. They pasted pictures and created a huge collage of their favourite sports personalities and the games which are played during this event. Important details pertaining to Common Wealth Games were also displayed on the bulletin boards along with the ‘Shera’ the mascot of CWG – 2010.
18th September 2010 – Trip to Railway Museum
An educational trip to Railway Museum was organized for Class II. The excited students boarded the school bus at 8:45 am and reached the museum at 9:45 am. As soon as they entered the museum, all sorts of queries started pouring in and they were able to find the answers within the Museum Galleries. They saw ancient models of the trains, their signal systems and even cutlery used in trains during British Rule. Students went for the Toy Train ride which they enjoyed thoroughly. Later they sat in a park and shared their snacks, played few games and exchanged views about the museum. The trip was a great learning experience for the kids.
18 सितम्बर 2010 – सूझ-बूझ लगाओ व कहानी बनाओ प्रतियोगिता
18 सितम्बर को कक्षा 3 व 4 के छात्रों के मध्य हिंदी कहानी लेखन प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया | जिसमें छात्रों ने पूरे उत्साह के साथ भाग लिया | इस प्रतियोगिता में कक्षा के प्रतेक छात्र ने भाग लिया | छात्रों को स्मार्ट क्लास के माध्यम से एक चित्र दिखाया गया | जिसे देखर कर छात्रों ने अपनी चिन्तन शक्ति का प्रयोग कर कहानी का निर्माण किया | छात्रों की कथा व नैतिक ज्ञान को देखते हुए पुरुस्कार के लिए दोनों कक्षाओं से तीन विद्यार्थियों का चयन हुआ | पहला स्थान कक्षा 4 से भागवत वशिष्ठ, दूसरा व तीसरा स्थान कक्षा 3 से आशुतोष सिन्हा व हर्षिता गिरेवाल ने प्राप्त किया |
17th September 2010 – Plant Products
Emphasising the importance of plants in our lives, an activity "Pasting Plant Product" was organised for students of Blooms, on Friday, 17th September 2010. Children decorated the cut outs of trees by pasting plant products such as flowers, fruits, cotton, wood, medicinal leaves, rubber, etc. They really enjoyed the activity and learnt how useful the plants are!
10th to 12th September 2010 (Roller Sports Olympics)
Students participated in “Roller Sports Olympics” organized by “Skate World Society” held at Dwarka Sports Complex, Dwarka between Friday, 10th September 2010 and Sunday, 12th September 2010. There were approximately 400 participants from within Delhi and NCR. In spite of the stiff competition our students were successful in winning 19 medals in all – 11 Gold, 5 Silver and 3 Bronze. 9th September 2010 – Inter – House Basket Ball Match
Inter house Basket Ball Match was held for students in school premises. The preliminary matches were scheduled between Peace vs Glory and Pride vs Harmony. In the final match played between Glory House and Harmony House, Glory House was victorious by 4-3.
8th September 2010 - Trip to Air Force Museum
Taking a break from the normal academic schedule, an excursion to Air Force Museum was organized for the students of Classes III- V. At 9:00 am in the morning, students boarded the bus and sat with their friends. Their eagerness to visit the museum was evident from their innumerable queries about the distance and time the bus would take to reach there. On reaching the museum, students witnessed various facets of Indian Air Force, from the time of its inception till date. In the Indoor Gallery of Air Force Museum, students saw pictorial history as wall displays while in the Outdoor Gallery there were the amazing original vehicles, equipments and aircrafts used by IAF during epic battles, World War I & Kargil War etc.
On their way back to school, students exchanged views and information they had gathered from the museum. The trip was a great learning experience for students and teachers. No doubt the museum had aroused students’ curiosity to know more about our country’s Defence System. Making the trip more memorable for the students, teachers clicked their photographs in the museum, in bus, while sharing their home made delicious recipes and snacks. Thus, the trip was an amalgam of fun and knowledge.
7th September 2010 - Camel Colour Contest
A Camel Colour Contest was organised for our students in the school premises. The contest was open to students of all ages. Students were divided into groups based on their classes and the theme of each group was on the basis of their age group. Their enthusiastic participation was evident in the beautiful drawings with remarkable colour combinations. Chaudhary Deep Chand Tokas Memorial Open Judo Championship
Bhupender Bhargava of Class VIII participated in the Chaudhary Deep Chand Tokas Memorial Open Judo Championship, organized by Baba Gangnath Sports Academy. He won the third position in category – Under 50Kg, and made us all proud of him.
4th September 2010 - Teacher’s Day Celebration
5th September, the birthday of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, is celebrated as Teachers' day as a mark of tribute to the contributions made by teachers to the society. On this occasion students of Sachdeva Global School presented a remarkable program. They sang melodious songs, danced and presented a self directed hilarious play. The teachers applauded and encouraged them.
To conclude the programme teachers and students together sang “Hum, rahe ya na rahe….” sharing the feeling of oneness. Late in the day, students of Class IX took charge and gave their teachers a break from their daily schedule. In the afternoon, a get together was organized for the teachers and other staff members. An inspiring short film followed by a melange of hilarious games were organized for the staff, as they were taken down the memory lanes of their childhood. The day ended with a feast for the staff members!
1st September 2010 - Janmashtami (Special Assembly)
Janmashtami is a festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna. Toddlers of Classes Blooms A and B presented the Assembly for junior school on this occasion. Children dressed up as Lord Krishna, Gopiyan, Yashoda and cows, virtually transported us to the birth place of Krishna, that is Gokul. The little ones danced to the tune of ‘Makhan chor’ depicting various childhood tales of Lord Krishna.
Students of Classes II A and II B conducted the assembly for the senior school. The narrators gave insight about Janmashtami celebrations. Students dressed up as ‘Lord Krishna’, ‘Gopis’, ‘friends of Lord Krishna’ etc, enacted the various ‘Leelas’ of Lord Krishna, from his childhood to his marriage, beautifully. Girls dressed up as ‘gopis’ performed a dance on the song “ राधा रमण हरी बोल”
