28th October 2016 – Robotics Competition
Students of Sachdeva Global School participated in Robodex6 competition (Seniors: IX-XII) at DPS, Dwarka on 28th October 2016. Rythum Bawa of IX A and Tushar Srivastva of IXB brought laurels to the school by bagging the second position in ’Shot Put Event’. It was a track and field event in which the robot, which was made by the students and was supposed to ‘throw’ a ball. Globalites made a wonderful ball launcher mechanism and hit the 1.57m mark. Children enjoyed the competition and showcased their talent.
27th October 2016 – Clay Modeling Competition
Clay Modeling is a great way to help children to develop imagination and spark creativity. It also helps to develop hand – eye coordination. Young minds can think new and big with play-dough.
Keeping this in mind Clay modeling competition was organized for Buds & Blooms students on 27th October 2016. They made their own beautiful sun, snake, shapes, flowers, swan etc and displayed them with pride. Students were very enthusiastic and participated actively and very well executed their talents.

27th October 2016 – Annual Athletic Sports Meet 2016
Sachdeva Global School’s Annual Sports Meet, held on Thursday, 27 October 2016 was the most awaited event in the school calendar. Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar, Head of School, was the Chief Guest for the event. The most solemn partof the ceremony was the Relay of the Torch by the School’s Head boy and Head girl. Following this, the Chief Guest administered the oath to the athletes, thereafter hoisting the flag and declaring the Meet open, amidst thunderous applause.
The bevy of events for the day included Monkey crawling race, Ready for school race, Sideward run, Side-leg Hopping, Sack race, Push-up and run race to name a few. Interspersed among these was a mesmerizing and colourful Skating demonstration which was an extremely well-synchronized display and drew hearty applause from the crowd. There was an outstanding presentation of physical fitness through Skipping by the Rope Skipping Federation. Everyone watched with abated breath as the boys performed with co-ordination andand sheer excellence.As the students’ wild cheers rent the air, the athletes, with grit and determination, raced to achieve victory. The day ended with the declaration of the results and the prize distribution ceremony.
Thereafter, the Head of School proposed a vote of thanks and complimented the students and the staff for their hard-work and dedication. In a nutshell, the athletic meet was a treat to the spectators, as well as the participants, with the values of sportsmanship and teamwork resonating in the school grounds with energetic vibe and vigor.
25th October 2016 – Diwali: Festival of Light
Diwali also known as Deepavali and the “festival of light” is an ancient Hindu festival. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil & hope over despair.
Students of Buds-C presented a special assembly on the auspicious occasion of Diwali on 25 October 2016. The stage was decorated matching the festival spirit and the little ones came to school in traditional attire.
The assembly began with a few introductory lines where children threw light on the importance of ‘Diwali’. They also presented a Hindi rhyme on the same and performed a lively dance on the song Happy Diwali.
At the end our respected HOS threw light on the importance of the festival and also conveyed a special message to celebrate eco-friendly Diwali by avoiding bursting crackers.
24th October 2016 – Diwali Card Making
The significance of Diwali is the removal of darkness and ignorance from the mind
Diwali signifies the victory of light over darkness and evil. It also signifies the welcoming prosperity and wealth in the lives of all fellow beings irrespective of caste, creed or religion. To get in the festive mood and to celebrate Diwali, a card making competition was organized for the students of class I on 24.10.16. The theme for the competition was based on Diwali. The students exhibited their innovative ideas and made beautiful greeting cards by dint of their creativity. The competition helped students to enhance their unique set of capabilities. The competition was full of life, passion and spirit. It showed that creativity has a positive association with everyone.

19th October 2016 – Math Quiz
To analyze and enhance the conceptual clarity and mental ability of the students,'INTER HOUSE MATH QUIZ' was organized for classes III-V on 19th October 2016. Providing every child with the opportunity to assess their knowledge, the preliminary round of the quiz was conducted, which aided the selection of three students per team. There were four teams in all. There were four rounds in the Quiz namely Puzzles (Visual Round), Logical Reasoning, Vedic Math and Rapid Fire Round. The students participated enthusiastically. It was a tough competition and the first position was bagged by the Harmony House.
The motive of the quiz was to provide the students with the knowledge of different mathematical facts build upon their prior knowledge and provide them with a better understanding of concepts already known to them. The quiz also helped the students in improving their logical and reasoning abilities.
Furthermore, the quiz did not only help the students to analyze the role of everyday events but also enhanced their interest in learning them. Such amazing facts were taught to the students through this quiz, that it served a great purpose in providing the children, learning in an active and interesting manner.
16th October 2016 – Dussehra Celebration
India is known as a land of festivals and celebrations. Dussehra celebrates the Hindu god Rama’s victory over the demon king Ravana and the triumph of good over evil.
We at SGS, believe in fostering an overall development in children by making them participate in school assemblies. The tiny tots of Buds B presented the Dussehra special assembly on 16th October 2016.
Keeping the festive spirit alive. The little ones were dressed up in their best. They showcased the story of Ramayana through a scintillating performance based on the theme. The attractive costumes, songs and the fascinating props made the assembly worth viewing. To mark Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and to reinforce the message that good always triumphs evil.
14th October 2016 – Workshop - BML Munjal University
On 14th October 2016, organized a workshop by BML Munjal University for the students of class XII it was conducted by Head of Marketing, BML Munjal University and Sr. Counselor, Munjal University. The workshop introduced the participating students to various soft skills needed for vocational success regardless of the career one takes up and highlighted their importance. As it was pointed out 53% of graduates in India are unemployable because of their lack of such necessary soft skills.
The most important of these skills were grouped together as the super seven-communication skills, adaptability, the yin-yang of independent competence and the ability of working in a team, an innovative and entrepreneurial approach, knowledge about a wide range of subjects, and perhaps the most important, ethics. The students were also given guidance on how they could acquire and build these skills. Without a doubt, this workshop was immensely helpful for all the students who had gathered there.
7th October 2016 – Visit to Dwarka Court
A court is a government institution with the authority to settle legal disputes between parties and carry out justice in civil, criminal and administrative matters. The system of courts interprets and applies the law. Therefore, the students of class VIII of Sachdeva Global School were taken to the District court of Dwarka to provide them with some basic understanding of court functioning. This gave them an opportunity to witness the court proceedings and to interact with Legal Department Judges. Students went to the MCD court, Mahila court, Family court and various other courts to gain first hand experience of the court hearings and procedures.
Students also got to know about the ‘Mediation Cell’ and appreciated it, as a time saving and better instrument to solve out disputes. A question-answer session was also organised in the conference hall of the court in which Mr.Gupta, Legal Secretary Dwarka Court and a senior judge, solved various queries of the students. Students participated in an enthusiastic manner. By the end of the session, students were provided with the information about POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) 2012. It was a brainstorming session where students learnt a lot of things.
6th October 2016 – Rally – Environment Conservation
Students of classes IV and V carried out, a ‘Rally’ on ‘Environment Conservation’ on 6th October 2016. They covered few markets of Dwarka and sensitized the people on the need to save the environment.
They used the slogans –
‘Do something drastic, cut the plastic!
Say no to plastic!
Water water everywhere, Save it if you care!
Save water, - every drop counts!
The children also presented a ‘Street Play’ to spread the awareness to Save Mother Nature. They distributed Grocery Bags which had slogans like save energy, save trees etc written on them to various shopkeepers and vendors.
The Rally was a success and the children and the teachers encouraged the gerneral public to understand their surroundings and become environment friendly.
October 2016 – Health and Dental Hygiene Workshop
Keeping up with its motto to provide a healthy environment for growth, SGS organized a ‘Health and Dental Hygiene Workshop’ in association with ‘Savlon Swasth India’ for the students of Classes III-V.
The workshop focussed on the importance of maintaining healthy habits. Students were explained and demonstrated the correct method of washing hands to keep them free from germs. An animated video was shown to highlight the dangers of not washing hands before meals. They were informed about preventive measures to save themselves from diseases.
In the end, students were provided with samples of Savlon soap and certificates for attending the workshop.
