July 2016 – Dental Check-up (Classes VI – VIII)
Keeping up with the practice offocussing on the healthy growth of a child, a dental check-up was organisedby SGS in association with Dr. JyotiYadavfor students of classes VI - VIII in the month of July. Theywere examined by the dentist and were informed about the necessity of maintaining oral health. They were given tips to keep their teeth healthy and white and free from cavities. The doctor also warned the students about the adverse effects of eating excessive chocolates and candies on their teeth.
30th July 2016 – Annual School Exhibition
The Annual Exhibition, enthusiastically attended on 30th July 2016 focused on ingraining a scientific and creative attitude in our young students to make them comprehend the interdependence of science, technology and society by a hands-on experience. The exhibition engaged children and teachers to synergize experiences and motivate each other to design and develop something novel. Each display corridor became a celebration of creativity as the talented students furiously beckoned visitors to stop by and visit their array of exhibits across varied subjects.
The exhibition witnessed the budding scientists coming up with their innovative models on contemporary topicsand new-age concerns such as global concerns, energy conservation, tapping the solar and tidal energy, waste management. Notable models on DNA, Human systems, genetics were also presented which helped the students to understand their body system.
The Mathematics corner included models on Body clock, Time line chart, Tangram zoo, bargraphs, 3-D rangometry and a host of other topics. The desire to learn and out of the box thinking was reflected in the items presented.
The Social Science section had models on the modern day agricultural practices. Students also showcased a power point presentation on disaster management. The models exhibited on different organs of United Nations helped the students and the parents to understand its vital role and working in the international arena.
The French corner sawa zestful participation from the students. Several models depicting the culture, monuments and other important features of France were presented by the students. The parents not only asked several questions related to the French culture from the students, theyalso shared their personal experiences related to the subject.
The Computer Science and Sanskrit section saw their maiden entry to the school’s exhibition this year.The Sanskrit section witnessed the students displaying the richness of the language. There were models on Aryabhatta, showcasing his first laboratory, home and the first satellite that was dedicated to him.
The computer science students on the other hand displayed a collage of charts and posters made by the students. The highlight of the section was the movies made by the students that had won laurels during the inter-school competitions.
It was an enriching learning experience for both the students and the parents. The purpose was to provide opportunities where ideas begin to bloom for the development of the world.
28th July 2016 – Science Quiz
To analyze, enhance and entrench the paramount trails of a 21st Century individual, a 'SCIENCE QUIZ' was organized for class I students on 28.7.16. Providing every child with the opportunity to be a part of this quiz, the preliminary round of the quiz was completed in the classrooms, which aided the selection of four students per team. There were four teams in totality. Quiz revolved around rekindling the pragmatism through picture hints round, true/false, answer in one word, give reasons and spell bee. All the five teams participated so well that a tie breaker round was also organized
The theme of the quiz was to provide the students with the knowledge of different scientific facts build upon their prior knowledge and provide them with a better understanding of concepts already known to them. The quiz also helped the students in improving their listening, reasoning, identification skills and also their vocabulary.
Furthermore, the quiz did not only help the students to analyze the role of everyday events but also enhanced their interest in learning them. Such amazing facts were taught to the students through this quiz, that it served a great purpose in providing the children, learning in an active and interesting manner.

27th July 2016 – Inter House Fusion Competition
Musing into the realms of serenity and experiencing the charms of austerity, students of SGS showcased their talent in an Inter-House Fusion Competition on 27th July 2016. They filled the atmosphere with the beautiful melody of their voice and the vigor of patriotism.
Each house presented a beautiful amalgamation of Classical and Patriotic songs on the tunes of various instruments ranging from guitar, drums, tabla, keyboard and even mridang. Harmony and Glory house were crowned the first position followed by Peace and Pride. The mesmerizing rhythm and coordination among the students created an aura of divinity in the hearts of judges as well as audience. The event added yet another spark to the Inter-House Competitions with its fervent melodies.
27 July 2016 – Let’s Play Teacher Competition
Learning through imaginary play has long been recognized as an important component of child development.
Role play provides children with the opportunity to develop imagination and also improve their social skills and creativity.
Hands up if you love toplay teacher – teacher ask this question to any group of children and loads of hands shoots up kids love school expecially when they get opportunity to enact like a teacher.
Considering these facts Blooms had organized an activity Let’s Play Teacher. It was an inter class competition. In this activity the enacted like a teacher. Some displayed the nick nacks of being a teacher with their costumes and the activity it was a great success with maximum participation.

27th July 2016 – Demonstration of Experiments
Science is a practical subject. If students want to understand science, they need to understand how the knowledge and facts that they acquire in classroom lessons have been gathered and agreed. They cannot and should not do this exclusively through books without direct practical experience both in and out of the classroom. Keeping this in mind, a very interesting activity "Budding Scientists-Demonstration of Experiments" was held for the students of class II on 27.7.16 wherein many students participated enthusiastically. The students did numerous experiments and explained them thoroughly. Some of the experiments were 'Air occupies Space, Invisible Ink, Magnets attract each other, Light particles dissolve easily, Volcanic Eruption, Fireworks in a Jar and so on'. It was great to see such tiny tots teaching us how to use science in our daily life. The winners of the competition were as follows:

26th July 2016 – Energy – Natural & Man Made
Energy is a primary input for almost all activities and is, therefore, vital for improvement in quality of life. Its use in sector such as industry, com¬merce, transport, telecommunications, wide range of agriculture and house¬hold services has compelled us to focus our attention to ensure its continuous supply to meet our ever increasing demands. To make us aware about energy and its kinds, the students of class I-C presented an informative assembly on the topic ENERGY-NATURAL & MAN MADE on 26.7.16.
The students told everyone what energy is and also explained about the different kinds of energy. They used props to speak of the ways in which energy helps us in our daily lives. The students also urged that we should conserve energy for our better tomorrow.
Thereafter, medals were given to the winners of 'Summer Open Roller Skating Championship' held on 24.7.16 at Remal Public School, Rohini in which Aayan Ali (II-C) bagged 1 gold and 1 bronze medal and Muskaan (II-B) bagged 2 bronze medals.
24th July 2016 – Summer Open Skating Championship 2016
Continuining with the extreme practice of Skating that is given to all Globalities.
Sachdeva Global School students participated in Summer Open Skating Championship 2016-17 held at Remal Public School, Sec-3, Rohini, Delhi. The students performed extremely well and won 5 Gold, 3 Silver and 8 Bronze medals.

21st July 2016 – USA UNIV-QUEST
A workshop was organized by USA Univ-Quest on 21 July 2016 in the school for the students of classes IX, X and XI.
The purpose of the workshop was to bring awareness amongst the students about overseas higher education. The students were informed about various US universities and were guided about all the aspects related to admissions to US universities such as to prepare for exams like SAT, SAT Subject Tests, AP and TOEFL and they cleared doubts regarding to applying for different Universities in states.
They were able to provide a dedicated, scalable, professional and focused conversion service to meet the queries of the students. They enquires of the students were responded to in a focused manner bringing in a lot of clarity.
20th July 2016 – Inter House Science Quiz Competition
Inter-house science quiz competition was held on 20th July 2016 for the classes IX-XI.
The participating teams comprised of one student from each class. The rounds were as follows:
- The Stalwarts “The Indian Scientists”
- Visual Round
- Activity Round
- Earth and its neighbors
- Buzzer round-Go green
- Spell bee
- Rapid Fire.
The quiz saw the enthusiastic participation, not only by the participants but also by the audience.It helped evaluate the knowledge, understanding and mental skills of the students. The quiz helped foster scientific knowledge among students andprovided an aid to the sense of inquiry and searching. The students learnt about the recent development in the field of science which encouraged them for wider reading.
19th July 2016 – Water – Save Every Drop
Water is the most precious gift of nature. It has no taste, no smell and no colour. It is found everywhere and the other name of it is life. Almost three-fourth of the earth is water. Without water nothing can survive. Both animals and plants need water to live. It is the source of all life on earth. To tell us more about the importance of water,the students of class I-B presented an assembly on the topic 'WATER -SAVE VERY DROP' on 19.07.16.
The students threw light on the significance of water and how to save it. They told us why it is important to save every drop of water. They requested everyone to conserve and save water. This was followed by a dance performance which was appreciated by all.
Thereafter, medals were given away to the winners of Roller Skating Championship held at DDA Sports Complex in which Tejas (Blooms E), Seerat Bhullar (I B), Aryan Batra (II A) and Vanya Aggarwal (II D) bagged gold medals. The assembly came to an end with the inspiring words by Ms. Meeta Manocha.
19th July 2016 - Eternal Gandhi Museum
A visit to Eternal Gandhi Museum was organized on 19th July 2016 for class III.
The Eternal Gandhi Multimedia Museum is a digital multimedia museum established in 2005. It is located at Gandhi Smriti, formerly Birla House, the site where Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was assassinated.
The museum embellishes the life of Gandhi in sync with photographs, paintings, film footage, and video clips.A collection of over 40 exhibits shows the intersection of modern tactile computing and new green art with Gandhi's vision. It also encompasses new boundaries; in the inclusion of the world community in the production of art and technology and in the contribution of imagination and skills from all over the world.
The students enjoyed the visit and showed great enthusiasm as they learnt about Mahatma Gandhi’s life and his contribution to the freedom struggle. The museum presents the historical events of Gandhiji’s life as well as a spectrum of IT visions inspired by Gandhian thought; making the visit an enriching one.
(12-15)th July 2016 – Dental Check-up
Continuing with the endeavor to make students aware of the importance of health, a free Dental Check-up was organized at the school by Dr. JyotiYadav (BDS) from 12.7.16-15.7.16. All the students of classes Buds-V were examined by the renowned doctor. The checkup process included a general checkup for making an estimation of the child's oral health condition. If needed, the child was referred for a complete elaborate treatment. The dental camp was a success, making students aware of the need for maintaining good dental health and oral hygiene.
15th July 2016 – Inter School Promotional Roller Skating Championshiop 2016
Skating is a great way to participate in a fitness activity which benefits both the mind and body.
Sachdeva Global School students participated in Roller Skating Championship 2016-17 held at DDA Sports Complex, Sector-10, Dwarka. The students performed extremely well and won 11 Gold, 8 Silver and 9 Bronze Medals.
The school got Ist position in the competition and also won a Team Trophy.

14th July 2016 - Social Networking - A Boon or A Bane
Students of class XI-A conducted an assembly on the topic-“Social Networking – A boon or a bane”on 14th July 2016.
A systematic approach to the topic was given through a coherent speech. A well Co-ordinated and informative skit on the pros and cons of social networking infused a sense of responsibility among the students. It also highlighted that there is a generation of kids coming up who can’t even conceive a world without smart phones and social-networking and how it has officially embedded itself in our culture. However there are ways that in which social media improves our life experience, and also act as aplatform to some savory behaviors and opinions.
The assembly ended with an address by the Head of school after the felicitation ceremony.
12th July 2016 – Assembly: Trees - Our Friends Forever
Trees are beautiful and useful gifts of nature. They are great friends of men. They are a part and parcel of earthly life. All life directly or indirectly owes its existence to them. To tell us more about the importance of trees, the students of class I-A presented an assembly on 'Trees - Our Friends Forever' on 12 July 2016.
The students used slogans and props to tell us how trees play an important role in our life. They also explained that how felling of trees disturbs the eco-system. The students emphasised that we should keep trees and plants with great care. Thereafter, a poem titled 'Aao Paed Lagaye Hum' was recited by the students.
The assembly was concluded by Ms. Meeta Manocha who also emphasized upon the importance of planting trees and encouraged the students to do the same. This was followed by distribution of certificates of the 'Let's Create Out Of Waste' competition held in class II, 'Colour Your Best' competition held in Blooms. Also, Seerat Bhullar of class I-D received 3 medals for her outstanding performance in the 10th North Zone Roller Skating Championship.
