31st August 2016 – Fun With Origami (Class II)
If a design is good it is bound to be found
The students of class II participated in an ORIGAMI competition held on 31.8.16. Origami is an art of folding paper to create three-dimensional figures of animals, people, objects and abstract shapes. The theme of the competition was ‘Aquatic Life’. The idea was simply to provide the children a medium to let their imagination take a flight. The students were very enthusiastic to make different shapes through paper folding. They made different objects related to aquatic life and composed them beautifully on a sheet. There was a healthy competition amongst all the children. The students enjoyed the competition and it was a great learning experience for them.

30th August 2016 – Story of Fire (Blooms-A)
Fire is one of the most important forces in our world. It has played an important role throughout all the human history. Fire! It warms up, mystifes us, delight us and sometimes terrifies us. One thing for sure it would be hard to imagine a life without fire.
Keeping in mind these facts Blooms-A presented a very imformative assembly on the topic ‘Story of fire’ on.
The gorup of studnets performed a drama based on early human life and also showed how fire was discovered by just rubbing of two stones. They were also dressed up as earlyman (with tree leaves).
Students also share the usage of fire in our day to day life and how it has made our life easy and smooth.
Props were beautifully made and used. Rhyme was also their on the topic of firefighter. The assembly was enjoyed by all.
29th August 2016 – Fun With Origami (Class I)
“The origami project is really our first step toward achieving a big vision.”
Origami is the Japanese word for paper folding. ORI means to fold and KAMI means paper. Together, they form the word, ‘origami’. Origami involves the creation of paper forms usually entirely by folding. Animals, birds, fish, geometric shapes, puppets, toys and masks are among the models that even very young children can learn to make.
Keeping in mind the love for paper, an ORIGAMI competition was organized for the students of class I on 29.8.16. The students made various kinds of shapes with the help of origami sheets and composed them beautifully on a sheet. The competition helped the students to improve their craft skills. The judges had a tough time in making the decision as all the students performed extremely well. The winners of the competition were as follows:

(24 & 29)th August 2016 – Fancy Dress Competition
Scholastic and co-scholastic activities have been equal importance in school programme for the all round development of the child. Keeping in this in view a fancy dress competition for classes Buds and Blooms was held in school premises on (24th & 29th) August 2016. Theme for this competition was Incredible India.
The purpose of conducting the competition was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the students by giving them an opportunity to get on the stage and speak in front of an audience. It was the most awaited event, as it is always a pleasure to watch the toddlers dressed up as different characters and stuttering away in their speech. The students came forward displaying their vibrant constumes. It was indeed a mesmerizing event which would be etched in our memory for a long time.

24th August 2016 – Ice Cream Stick Craft Competition
“Everyday is an opportunity to be creative”
Inter House Ice Cream Stick Craft Competition was organized for classes III – V on 24th September 2016. Each house had two groups comprising of students from all three classes.
Students took the initiative of using ice-cream sticks and made beautiful 3D compositions. They created a house with its parking and fence; a beach scene, multi-utility holder, wind – chimes were among others. The competition lasted an hour. It was a great learning experience for students where they gave wings to their creativity & enjoyed making beautiful things out of waste ice-cream sticks.

24th August 2016 – SPACE – Inter School Debate Competition
We live in a society which depends on science and technology and Astronomy study has always been of prime importance in the global health and well being of the world. Space science and exploration has directly and indirectly helped bring about many technological advancements. To provide a platform for students to brainstorm the justification of investing in space science and exploration, Sachdeva Global School in collaboration with SPACE organized an Inter school Debate competition for about 60 schools spanning across Delhi-NCR.
Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar, Head of School, welcomed all the participating students who belonged to classes VI – VIII. She declared the debate open after welcoming the eminent panel of judges which included Dr. T. S. Seshadri, Professor, Physics and Astrophysics, DU; Prof. Inder Mohan Kapahy, Professor, Maharaja Agrasen University, HP; Mr. Sachin Bahmba, Chairman and Managing Director, SPACE Group and Mr. C. B. Devgun, President, SPACE Foundation.
The competition was a tough one and various ideas and opinions were brought out; the judges appreciated all the participants for their brainstorming ideas and their hardwork. Khaitan Public School of Noida was the proud winner of the competition followed by DPS International School, Saket and the third prize was bagged collectively by Indraprastha School, Dwarka, St. Margaret Sr. Sec. School, Rohini and Sri Venkateshwara School, Dwarka. In all, the event was a grand success.
23rd August 2016 – Janmashtami Celebration
Festivals are characterised by colour, gaiety enthusiasm, prayers and rituals. Krishna Janmashtami is an important festival which is celebrated with great fervour.
A special assembly was conduted by Blooms-C on 23rd August 2016 on the occasion of Janmashtami ‘a festival which commemorates the earthly arrival of Lord Krishna’.
The assembly began with a message from small kids on the significance of Janmashtami as a festival which encourages goodwill and togetherness. They also presented a group song on the festival. This was followed by a beautiful dance performance on ‘Kanha Nandkishore’.
Little girls dressed as gopis and radhas did the raas leela and the entire area was transformed into a land of joy, celebration and happiness. The naughty little Krishna was all set to sway and dance with the Gopicas and Radhas. The entire event was enjoyed by all the tiny tots.
(20 – 21) August 2016 – 3rd Rolling Panthers Speed Skating Championship 2016
Contuining with the extreme practice of skating
that is give to all Globalites.
Sachdeva Global school students participated in 3rd Rolling Panthers Speed Skating Championship 2016-17 held at Pragati Public School, Sector-13, Dwarka, New Delhi – 110075. The students performed extremely well and won 5 Gold, 8 Silver, 3 Bronze Medals and 2 students awarded with best skater trophy.
The school got 3rd position in the competition and also a team trophy.

17th August 2016 – Raksha Bandhan Assembly
Raksha Bandhan is a popular festival in India. The festival depicts the love of brothers and sisters. On this day sister’s tie a thread called ‘Rakhi’ arount her brother’s wrist. It is a sacred thread embellished with sister’s love and affection for her brother. The love and self actuation towards a novel cause between a brother and his sister is the theme of this great festival. It is celebrated on the full moon day in the month of ‘Shravan’.
On the occasion, the students of class Blooms-D presented a lively assembly on 17th August 2016. The assembly began with a few introductory lines and children threw light on the importance of ‘Raksha Bandhan’. They also presented a hindi rhyme on the same and raised the audience to applaud. The tiny tots also performed a lively dance on the song related to Raksha Bandhan.
Each of us the teacher’s experienced nostalgic moments when they saw the enthusiastic performance put up by the students. The assembly was throughly enjoyed by all.
11th August 2016 – Independence Day Celebration
The celebrations to mark the 69th Independence Day of India at Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka, was held on 11 August 2016, with the unfurling of the national flag by the Chairman Shri. S. K. Sachdeva accompanied by the playing of National Anthem by the school orchestra. The guests for the day were the members of the managing committee, Shri S. K. Sachdeva, Mrs. Kiran Gambhir, Dr. R. C. Chaddha, Dr. S. N. Maheswari. Dr. Namita Sharma, Principal, Queens Valley School and Mrs. Sudha Sadhangi, Headmistress, Shri Ram World School, Dwarka were also present. Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar, Head of School, felicitated the guests with a souvenir of art forms of India created by the school students.
Shri Sachdeva’s speech to the students and the teachers was not only motivational, but also enthused a new enthusiasm in all for being instrumental towards a better tomorrow.
The programme put up by the students – “Avlokan – Bharat se India Tak” marked a tribute to the glory of India and displayed the various stages of its development beginning from 1947 to the present day, showcasing the various revolutions like the Green, white, and technological revolution. To enliven the glory of the nation, the students performed group dances, voicing the journey of the past 7 decades.
With much fervor and spirit of patriotism, the programme ended with the release of ‘Tiranga’ balloons in the air with strings of flags trailing behind carrying the message of each Globalite’s dedication to the cause of nation’s growth and freedom.
9th August 2016 - Independence Day Assembly
Independence Day is celebrated every year on 15th August. This was the day when India was freed from British Rule. It is a national festival and has equal importance for every Indian regardless of religion, class, creed or race.
In the schoo, on the theme of Independece day an assembly was conducted by Blooms-B on 9th August 2016. Student’s choir presented a melodious patriotic song. It was followed by beautiful dance performance on the songs “BHAARAT HUMKO JAAN SE PYARA HAI” and “KEHTE HAIN HUMKO PYAAR SE”.
All the little ones seen on stage beautifully transpired the feeling of unity in diversity which is the hallmark of our country India. The assembly was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
4th August 2016 – GSP Assembly
The Science and Environment Club of Sachdeva Global School Dwarka organized the special assembly on ‘Green School Programme’ on Thursday 4th August 2016 with an aim to sensitize students to the environment and empower them to use natural resources in a responsible and an efficient manner.
The speech on the “need to adopt Green Schools Programme and the benefits fo auditing”, Alarming Environment facts and a beautiful poem recited by the Globalites were very informative and depicted the importance of “learning to live sustainably”. The skit based on Environment concepts and solutions was appreciated and was successful in spreading the message of CSE green schools programme to work towards change.
Audit teams were announced and the head of the school Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar awarded the badges to the students of respective teams. The assembly conlcluded with the song “Heal the world” by the school orchestra.
2nd August 2016 – AIR - Let’s Decide What to Breathe in
In accordance with the culture of having a thought provoking and informative assembly, the students of class I-D conducted an assembly on the theme ‘AIR – LET’S DECIDE WHAT TO BREATHE IN’ on 2.8.16. The assembly aimed at promoting the message of dealing with the issue of polluted air. The assembly included a couple of activities which showed that air is present all around us and is needed by us all the time. The students discussed the factors which are responsible for polluting the air. They stressed on the fact that it is very important to breathe in clean and fresh air to stay healthy. The assembly concluded with the students telling everyone about the ways which we can follow to keep our air clean. It was a successful effort by the young children to make everyone understand the value of clean and fresh air.
During the assembly, Arush Jain (II-C) was awarded with a gold medal and a gift certificate worth Rs. 1000 for securing International Topper Rank 1 in International English Olympiad alongwith a bronze medal for securing Rank 4 in International Math Olympiad. Atharv Arora (II-B) was awarded with a gold medal for his excellent performance in International English Olympiad. Another champion Drishti Solanki (II-C) was awarded with a certificate and a CD for winning Consolation prize in International English Olympiad organized by Science Olympiad Foundation. Also, certificates were given away to the winners of the Let’s Play Teachers competition (Class Blooms) by Ms. Meeta Manocha.
