12th May 2015 – Assembly on Good Manners – Class II-E
Good manners form an important part of our civilization. We know a man from his manners. Manners are important for our conduct in society and are important to us. A man with good manners respects the feelings and sentiments of people around him, shows proper regard to his elders, loves his equals and is kind to those who are younger than him. Nobody likes a rude person, but good manners endear a man to other. We aim to teach our children good manners at school and at home so that they become good human beings. To tell us more about good manners and how much they matter to us an assembly was organized by class II- E on the topic ‘Good Manners Matter’. The students presented an informative assembly where through different scene enactments they showed us how a person with good manners wins the heart of others. The children also talked about certain good manners which we all must possess like saying please and thank you, respecting our elders, washing our hands before and after meals etc.
During the assembly medals were given away to Dilisha Junaid (II-B) and Shaivya (II-A) who won the 1st Inter school open roller skating championship. Our little skating champion Seerat Bhullar of Blooms-B won two bronze medals in the 33rd Delhi Inter State roller skating championship. Also certificates were given away to the winners of the poster making competition (class II) and book mark making competition (class I). 05th May 2015 – Assembly on Mother’s Day – Class II-D
“God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers''
- Rudyard Kipling
Of all the relations in the world, the most precious relation is that of a mother and her child. Our mothers play an important role in our lives. They are our support system, make us learn a lot of new things, help us with our work, instill good values in us and help us through all stages of life. Even when we grow up, the one person that we always look up to is our mother. Mothers are our guardian angels and the only person in the world who is worried about us even when we aren’t children anymore. Mother’s day is one such day which is celebrated on the second Sunday of May every year to thank our mothers for all that they have done for us. To tell us more about mother’s day an assembly was organized by class II-D. The students recited a beautiful poem which told us how our mothers guide us and protect us throughout our lives.
During the assembly, the winners of the Odyssey-Tell a Tale (Panchatantra story) competition also presented their story which made them win the first prize at Modern Convent School, Dwarka. The School headmistress. Mrs. Sumana Dutta Sarkar congratulated the students on their achievement. She also told us how much our mothers mean to us and that we must thank and wish our mothers and teachers on this mother’s day, as teachers are like mothers to the children in school.
