(30th - 31st) October 2014 – Visit to Gurudwara
‘Guru Purab’ also known as Guru Nanak Jayanti is one of the auspicious religious festival celebrated in India to commemorate and remember the birth and philosophy of Guru Nanak, first Sikh Guru. We at Sachdeva Global School believe in secularism and celebrate festival of all religions. In this regard students of class Buds and Blooms were taken to Gurudwara on (30th - 31st) October 2014 where they were told the importance of ‘Guru Purab’. They were also made aware of some of their teachings. Children were also provided with ‘Kada’ and a ‘Frooti’ as Prasad. The children had great fun and learning by the visit.
31st October 2014 – National Unity Day
‘Manpower without unity is not a strength unless it is harmonized and united properly, then it becomes a spiritual power’.
Students of classes III – VIII performed various activities on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day).
This day is celebrated to commemorate the vision of Late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Classes III – V took the pledge to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the Nation. Classes VI – VIII contributed by making posters and collage spreading the message “United we stand, Divided we fall”.
31st October 2014 – 2nd Open Cross Country Race
Our school students Anuj Chhikara, Pranav Yadav and Banik Singh participated in 2nd Open Cross Country Race on Friday, 31st October 2014 for boys and girls (Under – 19). The event was named as “Run for Unity”, on the occasion of “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Jayanti”.
These students completed the entire race of 5 km within 25 – 28 minutes and became the part of the Nation-wide peaceful event.
30th October 2014 – Famous Destination Quiz – Class II
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page”

Destination is a place where a person travels or is sent to. There are several famous destinations in the world which all of us wish to visit once in our lifetime. To acquaint our little ones with the famous destinations around the world a quiz was organized for the students of class II. Providing each child with an opportunity to be a part of this quiz, the preliminary round of the quiz was completed in the classrooms. The selected students were then divided into 6 teams comprising of three members each for the final round of the quiz which was held on 30th October 2014.
The quiz helped the students to know about the famous destinations around the world and what the different countries of the world are famous for. It also helped the students to become well acquainted with the geographical facts of the world and know more about the countries of the world. The quiz comprised of five rounds which were as follows:
Round 1: The teams had to identify the monument in the picture shown to them.
Round 2: Teams were shown a picture of the monument and they had to name the country in which it was situated.
Round 3: The true or false round wherein the teams were given a statement and they had to state whether it was true or false.
Round 4: In the fourth round a country was given to each team and they had to name three thing for which the country is famous.
Round 5: The spell bee round wherein the teams were given a monument and they had to spell it out correctly.
The audience too participated enthusiastically during the quiz and prizes were given to the students who gave the correct answer. All the teams gave tough competition to each other and in the end the results were as follows:

30th October 2014 – Story Telling Competition
It is true that children love stories; they like to hear about heroes, giants, fairies and dragons.
Stories develop imagination, creativity and good listening skills in children. Keeping this in mind SGS organized a “Story Telling Competition” for the students of Buds on 30th October 2014. The children narrated various stories using colourful props and were also well dressed in their favourite characters like wood cutter, lion, piano choir, Ginger bread etc. The stories were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. The children participated in the competition with full zeal and enthusiasm.

29th October 2014 – Annual Athletic Meet (Buds – V)
Sachdeva Global School believes in balanced growth of every pupil. Living upto this belief, Sports Day 2014 was inaugurated by the inspiring words from the Head of the school Ms. Novita Chopra. Sports Captain Shubham Singh ran with the ceremonial torch held high in respect of the sport and motivated all the competitors. This show saw some breathtaking sporting acts and mesmerising aerobic moves. With the races ranging from relay race, 100 mtrs. race, hoola hoop race, balloon race to name a few, the participants ran for the love of the sport and performed their best. The close of the ceremony was sealed with the much awaited Prize distribution held in the school grounds with the medal spree and joyous faces all around.
28th October 2014 – Bhai Dooj
Bhai Dooj is a festival celebrated on the bright fortnight of the Hindu lunar month of kartik. This auspicious festival was celebrated in the school on 28th October 2014 and an assembly was presented by the little kids of class Buds D. The assembly began with a few introductory lines and children threw light on the importance of Bhai Dooj.
The girls extended a heartfelt gratitude to the school helpers – ‘Bhaiyas’, by having a ‘Tika Ceremony’ and giving sweets to them. At the end the tiny tots presented a foot tapping dance performance and raised the audience to applaud.
The assembly was apt, informative and was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.
27th October 2014 – Hello Activity
With the aim of broadening the horizon and inculcating global outlook in our students. Our school organized ‘Hello Activity’ with a goal of familiarizing our children with different countries customs and languages there by creating international citizens.
Our tiny tots of UKG came dressed up in colourful and beautiful attires representing different countries such as Spain, France, Japan, Portugal, Germany, Italy, Saudi, Arabia and greeted in their respective languages. The children also put up lovely dance performances depicting countries they were representing. They also used appropriate props to make it more meaningful.
Parents of different classes were invited to judge the event on the basis of costumes, props, confidence and content. Large number of participation and the hard work of the parents behind each child were highly commendable.

23rd October 2014 – Akshardham Temple Trip
Sachdeva Global School organized an educational trip to Akshardham Temple in the month of October. It was a wonderful opportunity for the students of classes VII - VIII as they learnt a lot about Swami Shradhanand. Learning about his life history and the struggle he went through served as a motivation for the students. They were inspired by him. The students were also taken for a boat ride, where they witnessed the progress that man has made throughout the years beginning from the stone age to the present time.
The trip was a grand success as the students gained a lot of knowledge. They also enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
21st October 2014 – Visit to An Orphanage
“We can’t help everyone bur everyone can help someone” inspired by these lines, Sachdeva Global School organized a visit to an orphanage ‘Don Bosco Ashalyam’, Palam Gaon on Tuesday, 21 October 2014. Students of Class VII represented the school and donated towards the noble cause by giving clothes, toys, stationeries, sweets and other eatables which had been collected from staff, students and parents. The children at the orphanage welcomed our students by singing a carol followed by singing of songs and playing of musical instruments. Students of SGS presented a Ganesh Stuti dance, which was applauded by everyone. The children of the Ashalyam of ages 6 to 17 interacted with our school students in an interactive session. Thereafter they played volleyball together. It was a humbling and joyful experience for everyone.
21st October 2014 – Assembly on Diwali
Diwali is celebrated to mark the return of Lord Rama after 14 years of exile and his victory over the demon Ravana.
On this occasion children of class Buds –C presented a gleaming assembly on 21st October 2014. It began with few lines giving introduction on Diwali and the precautionary measures should be taken to have a safe Diwali. The stage was very well decorated with tableaus encouraging an eco -friendly and pollution free Diwali.
Children also recited a melodious rhyme on the festival, followed by Lakshmi Aarti and a Joyful dance performance.
The assembly was very informative and was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.
20th October 2014 – Workshop on ‘Knowing Oneself’
Workshop on ‘Knowing oneself’ was conducted on 20th October 2014 for classes IX – X. It was an informative session which engaged the students and gave them an opportunity to explore the wide range of career opportunities. The resource person also dealt with the issues concerning a person’s aptitude, attitude and interests held a discussion related to the same. Finally the students were equipped with the feeling of achieving their aspirations they desire for and to work towards them.
18th October 2014 – 5th Tek Chand Memorial Inter School Skating Championship 2014
Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka have won 3 Gold and 1 Bronze medal in 5th Tek Chand Memorial Inter School Skating Championship 2014, held at Modern Convent School Dwarka, Delhi on 18th October 2014.

16th October 2014 – French Olympiad
The entry level examination (ELE) of French Olympiad was conducted in the school on 16th October 2014 by Education & Beyond India Pvt. Ltd. 8 students participated in different levels at the state level out of which 2 students qualified for the National level examination (NLE) of the French Olympiad for which they appeared on 21st February 2015.

15th October 2014 - Assembly on International Day of the Girl Child
The International Day of the girl child is an international observance day declared by United Nations 11th October 2011 was the first time this day was celebrated for girls.
This day is celebrated to spread awareness of gender inequality faced by the girls worldwide.
An assembly was presented by the tiny tots of class Buds – B to spread awareness among the audience including areas such as right to education, nutrition, legal rights etc.
A skit depicting a village scene where girls are not allowed to study & are forced to do household work was presented by the young children, followed by some quotes which made the audience applaud. A motivational poem “Koshish Karne Walo ki Kabhi Haar Nahi Hoti” written by Harivansh Rai Bachchan was recited by the children and kept the audience spell bound.
The assembly came to an end with a dazzling dance performance and was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.
15th October 2014 – Counselling Session
With an aim to accomplish the objective of career development and one’s inclination towards the specified intrusion into the global world, students of class XII of SGS were offered a career counselling session by Vivek Sharma, Manager (International Relations), on 15th October 2014. The students were educated about different career options available to the students belonging to Science and Commerce streams. The different courses offered by the university and the eligibility for specific courses were also discussed. Queries and doubts of the students regarding the career options were cleared personally by him.
(10th – 13th) October 2014 – CBSE Cluster North Zone Skating Comp.
Shubham Singh of class XI B participated in CBSE Cluster North Zone, Skating Championship held at Chandigarh from 10th – 13th) October 2014 and secured 4th position.
(10th – 13th) October 2014 – CBSE North Zone - I Roller Skating Championship 2014
Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka have won 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medals in the CBSE North Zone-I Roller Skating Championship – 2014 held at KBDAV Senior Secondary Public School Sec-7B Chandigarh on 10th – 13th October 2014.
Almost 2600 skaters from 250 School North Zone-1 participated in competition. Shubham Singh of class XI B came first and has been selected to represent the school at CBSE National Finals.

3rd October 2014 – Da’strokes Exhibition
Ms. Jyoti, Art Teacher of SGS participated in Da’strokes Exhibition held on 3rd October 2014, in Epicenter Apparel House in Gurgaon. The show’s main focus was on the significance of exhibiting variety of work in a pluralistic art world. Ms. Jyoti’s Sculptures were on display.
Mr. Sanjay Bhattacharya, an eminent artist came to inaugurate the show. The show was appreciated by eminent artists and sculptors.
2nd October 2014 - Swachhata Divas
On the call of the visionary Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi, the students and staff of Sachdeva Global School celebrated “Swachhata Divas’ on 2nd October 2014 by carrying out yet another plantation drive in the park in Sector – 18A, Dwarka which has already been adopted and cleanliness taken care of by the school. The collaboration between the RWA members and the school was a step towards the Nation’s goal of “Clean India, Green India”.
