27th September 2013 – Hindi Rhyme Recitation Competition: ANIMALS
Standing on a stage and reciting lines is an opportunity in ‘itself’. It is a medium to express yourself and share your views with the audience.
In an endeavour towards inculcating the qualities of confidence and healthy competitiveness, the students of Buds had a ‘Hindi rhyme recitation competition’ on the theme ‘Animals’. The children were dressed up in the attire of different animals and recited Hindi rhymes with their respective props, full enthusiasm and confidence. Such rhyme competitions help in building self esteem, self confidence and improve public speaking skills. Thus, the children learn to express themselves with style.

26th September 2013 – Just A Minute Competition
Just a Minute Competition was organized for the children of class I on 26th September 2013. The theme of the competition was ‘Rashtra Bhasha Hindi’. The students spoke about the importance of Hindi language that connects us with people across the length and the breadth of our country. Some students recited beautiful poems to highlight the significance of our national language Hindi. The student showed innovative props and some of them were dressed beautifully in Indian attires.
This competition served as a platform to enhance the confidence and communication skills of the students.

26th September 2013 – Hindi Rhyme Recitation Competition: FESTIVALS
Festivals are celebrated to propagate the cultural heritage of Nations. It highlights various aspects of a society. To welcome the upcoming festival season, a ‘Hindi Rhyme Recitation’ Competition was held on 26th September 2013 for the children of Blooms. Children recited rhymes on various festivals such as Diwali, Dussehra, Holi, Rakhi and Christmas, etc. displaying beautiful props. The audience enjoyed watching the participants performing in different attires. This competition helped the children develop, better fluency in Hindi language. This competition was thoroughly enjoyed by the judges and audience and kept them captivated till the end.

25th September 2013 – Save Water Save Life
Don’t let the future blow, Save H2O
The earth is our home. It’s time for us to do the little things for the earth, save water, save energy and secure the future.
In order to sensitize, understand, appreciated and value the importance of water in our lives, the students of BUDS C presented as assembly on “Save Water, Save Life” on 25th September 2013.
The students emphasized the importance of water in the assembly. An introduction about the significance of water was given by the students in the form of English and Hindi poems followed by various quotations on water. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the extremely thoughtful initiative of the students.
18th September 2013 – Visit to Parle Factory
Continuing with the trend of providing informative and practical experiences, the students of classes III – V were taken to the factory site of Parle G, situated at Bahadurgarh, Haryana.
The visit included a movie show for students explaining the process of manufacturing of the entire range of Parle G products the biscuits, wafers, toffees and chocolates. This was followed by an actual visit of the manufacturing and packaging plants to get a glimpse of the process.
This informative, interactive and joyful experience ended with the students getting wafer packets as souvenirs.
18th September 2013 – Adventure Camp
The school organized an Adventure Camp in the school premises for the students of classes Buds to III on (18-19) September 2013. Camp was conducted by ‘Rocksport Pvt. Ltd; run by Mr. Shashi Tharoor, India’s premiere Adventure training company, under the guidance of trained professionals and supervision of school teachers. The children had an enriching and joyful experience in all the adventure activities such as ‘Zip Line’, ‘Commando Crawl’, ‘Hop Scotch’, Hamster Wheels’, ‘Tug of War’,’ Tent Pitching, ‘Vertical Ladder’, ‘Laser Beam, ‘Double Rope Bridge, ‘ Tarzan Swing’, ‘Swinging Bridge, ‘Cammondo Net’. All day long activities resulted into developing various skills like team spirit, discipline and physical fitness. Many teachers actively participated along with the students which further motivated the students. This camp was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.
16th September 2013 – Just A Minute: Hamari Rashtra Bhasaha Hindi
Just a minute (JAM) competition was organized for the children of class II on the occasion of ‘Hindi Diwas’. The theme of the competition was, ‘Humari Rashtra Bhasha Hindi.’ All the children participated enthusiastically to honour their national language. They spoke beautiful lines and poems highlighting the beauty and importance of our national language Hindi. The competition was also a good learning experience for everybody, as the children presented various facts about the national language and its contribution to the other languages of the world.
The children also highlighted important messages, as the auditorium echoed with the sounds of messages like,’ Hindi Bachao’ and ‘Apni Rashtra Bhasha ka Samman Karo’. The use of beautiful props added beauty to the valuable words of the children. The winners of the competition are as follows:

14th September 2013 – Hindi Diwas
September 14 is celebrated as Hindi Diwas throughout our country as the official language of the constituent assembly in 1949.
A special assembly was conducted by BUDS – B to mark the day on 17th September 2013. The assembly started with a prayer in Hindi. The students emphasized the importance of the day followed by an introduction about the significance of this celebration. Students danced on a melodious song joyfully followed by Hasya Kavita without missing the beats and the punch lines that turned everyone in splits of laughter.
In all it was a great performance put together by the students.
13th September 2013 - Germination of Seeds
Learning the concept of ‘Germination of seeds’ created a new arena for the children of Blooms to explore on 13th September 2013. Each student was given the responsibility for growing his/her own plant. Disposable glasses were first filled with soil. Each student was given a few kidney beans. The soil was dug and the seeds were sown. All students watered the newly sowed seeds. The students were then taken out along with their glasses for getting sunlight needed for the seeds to grow. These glasses are displayed on the windows of each class so that the students can check the daily growth. The activity was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.
13 सितम्बर 2013 - प्रार्थना सभा प्रस्तुतीकरण
12th September 2013 – Ganesh Chaturthi
The students of class Buds-A presented assembly on Ganesh Chaturthi on 12th September 2013. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesh. Lord Ganesh is the symbol of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. The students emphasized the importance of the day in this assembly. An introduction about the significance of this celebration was given by the students. Students danced on a melodious song joyfully followed by a Ganesh Bhajan. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the extremely thoughtful initiative of the students.
11th September 2013 - Investiture Ceremony
A good leader inspires his followers with confidence in him; a great leader inspires them with confidence in themselves.
On the 11 day of September, Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka, bestowed upon its young leaders, great responsibility of leading their school, partaking in its management and progress. The members of Student Council for the session 2013-14 were sworn in and entrusted with duties in a grand Investiture ceremony.
School’s ceremonial band kick started the programme with a march past spearheaded by the new office bearers of student body, followed by new house captains of each house dressed in house colours of Yellow, Red, Blue and Green, each representing the virtue of Glory, Pride, Peace and Harmony, which the school strives to inculcate in its students. Under the command of House Captains the prefects of each house marched across the assembly ground with their head held high and pride in their eyes.
The march past was followed by an exchange of school flag, where the out-going Head-boy and Head-girl, Arpit Dhankar and Simran Bhaitia of Class XII, handed over the school flag to the newly elected head of student body, Abhishek Maan and Jigyasa Rawat and welcomed the new members of council.
The head of the school, Ms. Novita Chopra and Academic coordinator, Ms. Sumana Dutta pinned up the sashes and badges to Head of student council and each member of the Prefectorial board. This year three new positions; Academic Captain, Cultural Captain and Environment Captain, were added in the Student Council. Thereafter, the oath taking ceremony began, led by the Head- boy, Abhishek Maan, after which the head boy and head girl addressed the students and conveyed their first message to the school as the head of the student body.
The ceremony came to a close with Ms. Novita Chopra addressing the new Student Council where she elaborated on the importance of engaging the young people, and establishing a stronger mechanism for youth participation in school’s management, and especially in maintaining the overall discipline. She emphasised on the four main kinds of leadership techniques; by direction, seduction, association and delegation. She also spoke about the importance of good leadership and mentioned that a good leader should have self control, a sense of justice, ability to make the right decisions at the right time, a willingness to work hard and be a part of the team.
11th September 2013 - Workshop on Nutrition
With the aim of inculcating healthy habits and importance of health and hygiene in each and every Globalite, SGS organized a workshop on Nutrition on 11 September 2013 for classes IV and V. The workshop was conducted by an NGO of repute, School Health Annual Report Programme (SHARP). With a vision of promoting healthcare of children, the resource person Ms. Rameet emphasized on the importance of fruits in maintaining a proper balance of nutrients in the body. Kiwi, a fruit that is not commonly consumed by children, but has immense nutritional value, was talked about in great detail. The session was informative and interactive and ended on a healthy note with the distribution of a fruit of kiwi to each student.
7th September 2013 - Life Skill Workshop
A Life skill workshop was held at Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka on 7th September, 2013 as part of the series of Orientation workshop for teachers by ‘PROMISE’. The purpose of the workshop was to help the teachers in discouraging the students from using foul language.
The workshop guided the teachers in making the students understand that foul language doesn’t make them mature and cool. Infact mature people refrain from using such language. And if they would not like others to abuse them, similarly others would not like them to use abusive language. We need to encourage the students to think before they talk.
6th September 2013 – Eco Initiative
Students of Classes IV – V of Sachdeva Global School, conducted an activity which aimed at spreading awareness for Environment Conservation.
Their main agenda was – INCREASE HANDPRINTS AND REDUCE FOOTPRINTS!
‘They took a pledge to save nature till last breath’ – and to support this cause each one of them put up a ‘HANDPRINT’ on the soft board.
Children thoroughly participated and enjoyed this eco initiative activity to save environment and imbibed the thought that environment conservation is everyone’s equal responsibility.
5th September 2013 – Teacher’s Day Assembly
Teacher’s Day is celebrated on the birthday of Dr. Sarvpali Radhakrishnan on 5th September every year. On this special occasion students of classes Blooms-C presented Special Assembly. The tiny tots spoke few lines on the importance of teachers in the student’s life. The children also recited the rhymes and melodious songs on this auspicious occasion.
A group dance was also presented by the students on a peppy English number. The assembly came to an end by presenting a bouquet of flowers as a token of our love to the Principal Ma’am by the students.
