29th April 2013 - Best Out of Waste (Theme-Mother Earth)
As part of the theme of the month “Mother Earth”, “Best out of waste” activity was organized on 29 April 2013 for the students of classes I and II. Students were asked to bring waste material from home and make different items of utility or decoration out of these. Children enjoyed the activity and actively participated in it. They created varied items like pen stands, bangle stands, and show pieces by using their own creativity and art skills.
The event was a good learning experience for all the students and inculcated in them a learning of reusing and recycling old and used materials.
29th April 2013 - Fancy Dress Competition
Theme – Nature
“Our task must be to free Ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its Beauty”.
The students of classes ‘BUDS’ and ‘BLOOMS’ showcased their talent through enactment on various aspects of nature like water, flowers, trees, clouds etc. Through this activity children spoke about the importance of nature and how to conserve it. Summing up the essence that we need to create a world where we can live in harmony with nature. It’s true to the core that one touch of Mother Nature makes the whole world kin.
20th April 2013 - IIT open house 2013
Students of Sachdeva Global School visited premier Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, during the ninth edition of the i2Tech Open House on Saturday.
On display at the i2Tech 2013 Open House were innovative projects like sensor-chips to detect pesticide residue in milk, earthquake safety of precious and delicate household items, and drainage master plan of NCT in Geographic Information System (GIS), among others.
A live display of ground-breaking research projects, developed by students, staff and faculty and a tour of on-campus laboratories were some of the highlights of the exhibition. It was a great learning experience for the students.
20TH APRIL 2013 - WORKSHOP ON GENERAL PARENTING AND HEALTH CONCERN
An interactive parent workshop on ‘General Parenting and Health Concerns’ was conducted on 20 April 2013 at Sachdeva Global School for the classes Buds – III. A renowned child counselor Ms. Bandana from FORTIS, VasantKunj conducted the session. While there is no single definition or correct method of good parenting, she provided valuable parenting tips that could go a long way in ensuring the happiness of a child. The session included lot of queries of parents and useful suggestions from Ms. Bandana. The workshop proved to be an effective brainstorming session for good parenting.
19th April 2013 - Ram Navami (Class-IIC)
The students of class II C presented a special assembly on the theme Ram Navami on 19th April 2013. This festival commemorates the birth of Sri Rama who is remembered for his prosperous and righteous reign. The student’s emphphasized the importance of the day in this assembly. An introduction about the significance of this celebration was given by the students. Students danced on a melodious song joyfully offering a prayer to Lord Rama. Three students dressed in the attire of Rama, Sita and Laxmana performed on the stage. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the extremely thoughtful initiative of the students.
(18th – 21st) April 2013 - 40th Delhi State Skating Championship
The students of Sachdeva Global School performed extremely well.

18th April 2013 – Meet Me
A wide range of personality development activities are organized to explore the talents of the children.
In an Endeavour towards grooming of students to inculcate the quality of self confidence, the classes of buds did an activity ‘MEET ME’ where all the children poke a few lines on themselves. This activity helps the child in enhancing and developing his social skills, interpersonal skills and adjustment skills. Conducting such an event blooms the personality of our children and enable them to take on the world stage.
17th April 2013 – Inter House Throw ball Match
Sports play a vital role in the development of mental strength and physical fitness of the body. Being a student, one gets tired of daily routine, hectic work and need recreation as well, which is best attained in the form of sports.
To stress on the significance of the sports in students life, SGS has taken an initiative to organize inter house competitions that encourage students to come forward and participate actively in various games and sports events.
During the inter house competitions 2013-14, the various events organized will include throwball, skating, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, taekwondo etc.
The participation level in the Throwball Match event conducted on 17th April 2013 witnessed immense turn over. The participants were categorized into two categories. Senior and Junior, representing Peace House and Harmony House. The Head of the School, Mrs. Novita Chopra declared the match open. All the participants were equally supported, encouraged and motivated by a group of enthusiastic audience cheering for their houses.
Both the teams displayed sportsmanship. The result of the games were as follows:-

16th April 2013 – Assembly on Baisakhi
Class II B presented an assembly on Tuesday, 16th April 2013 on the topic “Baisakhi”. Twelve students spoke about the importance of the festival and the celebrations held. One dance performance was presented by the students. The students performed enthusiastically. The entire class participated in the assembly. The vivacious attempt of the students was commendable.
16th April 2013 - Blow Painting
Art activities are an expression of the ‘Self’ even in small children – drawing and painting serves this purpose.
To promote observation, visual and sensory perception and better eye - hand co-ordination, the classes of buds did a group activity of blow- painting. Children blew air through the straw on a sheet, which had various colours on it. The children were happily engaged and thrilled to see the colours and patterns made. This activity gave them, the joy of creating things with their own hands and evokes a sense of pride and achievement in them.
16th April 2013 – Career Counseling Workshop
Career Counseling plays a vital role in helping students to make the right choice. A career counseling workshop was held in Sachdeva Global School on 16th April 2013 for student of class IX – XII. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Aditya Bhardwaj, a renowned career counseller. He created awareness among students about various professions by telling them about different institutions and career options. The basic aim of the workshop was to make students understand the importance of one’s academic potential, attributes, personality, strength and weaknesses. The workshop was very interactive, which helped the students in clarifying their doubts.
12th April 2013 - Mother Earth
An activity was conducted by the children of Blooms based on the theme “Mother Nature”, where they made a collage.
A cutout of a tree was given to the children and they pasted crushed newspaper balls to form the leaves of the tree. After this activity the importance of why we need to plant more trees was discussed with the children, thereby telling the children how we as individuals, can contribute towards the environment.
12th April 2013 – Trip to National Museum
The vivid hues of Indian Heritage were implored by the students of SGS on Friday, 12th April 2013 under the combined initiative of the school & HT Pace. It was an educational tour organised for classes V to VIII. The museum comprised of different galleries which gave them a real life experience of dwelling upon the various aspects of Indian Culture & feel the ecstasy of the historical treasure. Indian Miniature Paintings, Coin Gallery, Textile & Conservation Museum left everlasting impressions on their mind. The serenity of the inscriptions of Gupta Dynasty & Harappa Civilization captivated their fancies. The tour was an amalgamation of knowledge & entertainment. To the delicacies of Indian Art & Craft, they just had one word “WOW!”
11th April 2013 - Visit to National Museum of Natural History
School in collaboration with NIE organized an educational trip to National Museum of Natural History for classes III – V. The trip very informative as well as sensitized students to the cause of conservation of natural surroundings. Students were taken on a tour of the natural beauty and its environment represented picturesquely in the form of preserved specimens of flora and fauna. An informative film was shown to them which focused on environmental issues.
10th April 2013 - Best out of Waste (Inter House)
Going with the theme of the month, (Mother Earth). SGS conducted an Inter House Competition for the students of classes VI-VIII on Wednesday, 10th April, 2013 wherein students showed their wonderful skills of giving shape to their innovative ideas by using waste material. It aimed at the practicing concept of 3R’s (reduce, reuse & recycle) to preserve the environment. Students made varied items like Robots, pen holder, dresses, models and many more. Their earnest efforts were acknowledged in the following assembly on Friday, 12th April 2013where the winners were applauded and given away the certificates.

10th April 2013 - Workshop on Life Skills
A workshop on ‘life skills’ was conducted by the Promise Group in the school on 10-4-13
The workshop was divided into two halves. In the first half, the theme was ‘Leadership’.
To begin with, a story was enacted to showcase the importance of leadership in one’s life. Afterwards ‘Leadership Tree Activity‘ was done wherein each child wrote qualities of his/her friend, so as to motivate his/her peers.
The second half of the workshop was based on ‘Anger management’.
It began with a small play to make children understand, “what is anger”?
A story was narrated to the children about controlling anger. Some real life situations were also discussed on how anger could effect one’s life and personality.
Children were also taught ways to control anger and a ‘Power Point Presentation‘ was shown, which focused on right and wrong ways to deal with anger. All in all, it was a truly enlightening and beneficial workshop for the children.
9th April 2013 – Visit to Robotics Lab, IIT Delhi
An educational trip to IIT, Delhi was organized by SGS on 9th April 2013 for classes XI – XII. Information about design, construction, operation and application of Robots as well as computer system programming (using C++ language) for control, sensory feedback and information processing was given to students. It was a highly informative trip which motivated students to look at Engineering as a lucrative profession and be a part of premiere institutes like IITs.
8th April 2013 - Assembly ‘My School’
Class IIA presented an assembly on 8th April 13 on the topic ‘My School”. The students spoke about the infrastructure and various facilities provided by the school. They spoke about our Principal and hard working teachers. They also recited a poem related to the topic. The entire class participated in the assembly. This activity not only enhanced the confidence of children but also made them more aware of their surroundings.
08TH APRIL 2013 –MOCK DRILL ON FIRE
“MOCK DRILL’ for fire and life safety was conducted in the school on 8th April 2013 at 1:30 p.m. Emergency hooter was sounded and students were guided to evacuate the building as fast as possible with clearly designated assembly points and exit routes for all classes. Teachers head counted their respective class students and ensured that students stand in proper lines without any noise or panic.
As a part of the drill small fire was also lighted and the school security officer demonstrated various types of fire extinguishers for solid, electric and chemical fire.
Students were given live ‘demo’ of using the fire extinguishers and were also educated about the chemicals used in the extinguishers.
It was very knowledgeable and well planned and executed drill.
6th April 2013 - Physical Fitness Workshop (Class II)
Physical fitness is a perquisite to mental activity’. Believing in this mantra, Sachdeva Global School had planned a demo workshop in collaboration with ‘Jump Bunch’ – a premiere physical education and sports specialization company on 6th April 2013. Parents of students of classes II A, B and C were invited along with their wards to attend this unique interactive workshop. Professional trainers exhibited and explained the benefits of warm up, exercises, breathing exercises and designed activities for hand-body coordination. Parents and students took part in the various exercises and games displayed by the trainers. Everyone enjoyed a lot and at the same time learnt about the benefits of physical fitness the workshop was a grand success.
5th April 2013 - Hand Printing Table Mats (Theme-Mother Nature)
Starting the session with the prints of their hands, the kindergarteners of Blooms made their own table mats on the theme ‘Mother Nature’. With the help of this activity they were made to understand how to conserve and preserve Nature. Along with it they were also taken for the Nature walk, exploring different types of flowers and trees.
4th April 2013 – Workshop on Educational Tour to USA
Keeping pace with the World and preparing students for life, sets the school distinctively apart as an educational establishment beyond compare.
A workshop on educational tour to USA was organized by INIZIO EOUTECH PVT. LTD, for the students of classes VI-X. The workshop was aimed at visualizing the opportunity for students to gain knowledge under eminent experts of NASA, MIT, Harvard and Broadway. This 12-day experience is an educational, inspiring and exciting opportunity for student to build management skills, enhance leadership qualities and learn about various space activities. International exposure of this magnitude will be a stepping stone in the student’s career.
02ND APRIL 2013 –FIRST DAY IN SCHOOL
‘Well begun is half done’
True to its saying the blossoms of Buds and Blooms stepped in to the learning world with lots of excitement & enthusiasm. The day started with the familiarization exercise where the children along with the parents and teachers went around the school. Teachers conducted an Assembly to welcome the children to the new class by presenting a welcome song followed by a puppet show highlighting the moral value of ‘strength in unity’ : To help them in adjusting with the new environment they were shown a movie, taken to the swing park and had fun with colouring on drawing sheets.
