ALUMNI SPEAKS

“Wherever you go and whatever ends you pursue, you must always fulfill the trust
reposed in you by your nation, your parents and your alma mater.”

          Ms. Kirandeep Kaur

Kirandeep is one of those students who never fade from your memory. Besides academia,
she has beautiful writing and other creative skills like painting. Undecided like most students
after class X, she took humanities as her subject choice.
She felt that the school staff helped her make the right decision with her choice of subjects as
this helped her pursue her creative skills along with academics. She cherishes all her wonderful
years at SGS that have helped her become a more responsible and a wiser being. Currently,
pursuing BA (HONS) PSYCHOLOGY, from the coveted Mata Sundri College for Women, Delhi
University, she wishes to pursue a career in “Clinical Psychology”, an upcoming and challenging field in our country.
Kiran feels that SGS gave wings to her thoughts. She has imbibed the school motto- “Excellence has no limits” into
her attitude and that is helping her achieve what most people would not even dream of.

          Anshul Thakur
An introvert, boy from the hills, Anshul joined SGS in class XI and became an integral part
of the SGS family in no time. Unlike most of his classmates he was quite certain of what he
wanted to do and worked hard to achieve his goals.
With a twinkle in his eye and a strong mid set, this young man became the member of the
school counsel- “Discipline Captain”, a post that was apt for his persona.
Determined as he was, he worked towards his goal and today he is enrolled with Graphic Era
(deemed to be University), Dehradun. Anshul is pursuing B. Tech (CSE) with specialization in
Data science and Artificial intelligence, an upcoming field World-wide.
Anshul feels that the school helped him prepare for his life after school and his transition from school to college
life was virtually seamless. He cherishes his memories at SGS and will always be thankful for the limitless
opportunities that the school presented him with.

          Aakanksha Dutta
The quite, inquisitive look on Aakanksha’s face will be hard to forget for anyone who has taught
her. The school’s vice-head girl, was a sweet and a disciplined student.
With the support and counselling from her teachers, Aakanksha decided to take up humanities
with Maths as her choice of subjects. This unconventional combination reflects her abilities
          to tread the uncommon path.
An avid writer, a dancer and an economist in the making, she feels that she owes her confidence
to the school and the staff with a special mention to her economics teacher. With over 90%
marks, Aakanksha is enrolled for Economics (Hons) at Shyama Prasad Mukerjee College, Delhi University. She
feels that it was the motivation and the affection of the staff that helped bring out the best in her.

          Arushi Singh
A quiet face in the crowd, Arushi exemplifies hard-work and perseverance.
When she joined the school in class XI, little did she know that the school would help her develop
her scholastic and co-scholastic strengths. According to her, learning at SGS transcends the
walls of classrooms and students are exposed to learning through project work, competitions
and many such activities. Her stint at SGS helped her groom her personality and character.
Arushi, is currently enrolled for Geography (Hons) at Dyal Singh College, Delhi University.
Arushi wishes to pursue a career in civil services after her college and she certainly has all the ingredients for it.
