Social Initiatives Home

Social Iniatives Nothing strengthens the judgment and quickens the conscience like individual responsibility. A society is a collection of all individuals. Just as many tiny drops become a great ocean, so the collective contribution of all individuals can make our society a place we will all want to belong to! Each individual must come forward to contribute either physically or monetarily towards society.

Charity begins at home. As it is very aptly said "BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD"

Our community service program proposes to expose our students to a reality outside their own experience so that they may learn to cope with unexpected difficulties and mature in the process.

SGS encourages its students to play a constructive role in the community by being actively involved in initiatives like:

  • Adopting a monument
  • Adopting a village / park
  • Neighbourhood Traffic Committee
  • Local Cleanliness
  • Environment Awareness Campaigns

Each Day, Earth Day- School Assembly (Classes VI-XII) 14th July 2022 - Each Day, Earth Day- School Assembly (Classes VI-XII)

“Keep the earth clean, it's the only home we have.” - a quote we often read but unfortunately forget.

Earth and the resources of earth make life possible on it. If we were to imagine our lives without these resources, that would not be possible as life cannot function without sunshine, air, vegetation, and water. However, this is soon going to be our reality if we do not save the earth now. To raise our concern on the compelling need to save earth- students of class X-C presented a morning assembly on the theme – “Each Day, Earth Day”

The session started with a brief introduction of the theme which was followed by the International and National headlines, important school achievements and happenings, the weather report and a motivational quote.

A short dramatic presentation to showcase the need to conserve earth and a poem on ‘Save mother Earth’ were the highlights of the assembly. The students also pledged to arouse consciousness in the society for the cause and to inspire all to join their campaign to save earth and its resources.

The assembly ended with the thought – “Keep the Earth Clean and Green, Nurture the Nature, Go Green and Save Green, Reuse today to save for tomorrow”. This highlights that its not only essential to conserve earth resources for our survival and we should conserve mother nature, but we should strive harder in the journey of life to protect and save for the future.
