The Student Council

The SGS Student Council is the apex body that represents the school’s student community. It is a formal link between faculty and students and is democratically-elected. The primary aim of this body is to promote leadership, ideation, peer-counselling and functional engagement amongst students. The members of the student council interact with the school management and staff to organise a wide range of activities and functions in school. Their feedback is well taken on matters like development of curriculum and facilities.

A new council is appointed every year to help students explore their leadership skills and talents.

The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2024-25 took place on September 2, 2024, on the school grounds, marking a significant moment of leadership transition. The event commenced with the former Head Boy officially passing the school flag to the newly selected Head Boy, symbolizing the handover of responsibilities.

Following this, the Head of School, Ms. Miti Dhingra, conferred badges and sashes upon the newly appointed council members and prefects. The ceremony continued with the student council taking an oath to perform their duties with dedication and to uphold the school's values with honor and pride.
