August 2015 – Zonal Science Slogan Writing Competition

Aakriti Bhargava of class III-A has won 2nd position in Zonal Science Slogan Writing Competition in Sub-Junior Category conducted by the Directorate of Education.





31st August 2015 – Incredible India – Class II

India is and will always be an enchanting land. India is a unique country with diversity. It is known for its diversity in region, religion, languages, food, clothes, festivals and everything which uniquely represents the country and its people. India is incredible because of its monuments, forests and the rich cultural heritage that it carries with it.

To make the young ones know more about their country and its rich cultural heritage a quiz was organized for the children of class II on Incredible India. Providing every child with the opportunity to be a part of this quiz, the preliminary round of the quiz was completed in the classrooms and 3 students were then selected from each class based on their individual performances.

The final round of the quiz was held on 31st August 2015. It was an intra class quiz comprising of 6 teams. The five rounds comprised of slides based on visual input. Identify the picture, state whether the given statement is true or false, fill in the blanks, correct the statements etc to identify the winner. All the teams gave a tough competition to each other and even a tie breaker round was organized as all the teams performed extremely well in the quiz.

28th August 2015 – Rhyme Recitation Competition “Mera Bharat Mahaan”

India got independence in the month of August after a long struggle against Britishers. To memorize and pay gratitude to the great leaders, an Inter Class Hindi Rhyme Recitation Competition was organized in the school premises for the students of Blooms on the topic – “Mera Bharat Mahaan” on 28th August 2015.

The performance of tiny tots was extremely astonishing on the stage. The rhymes recited by the children ignited the feeling of patriotism among the audience. This competition gave opportunity to children to showcase their talent on the stage. The children participated in the competition with full zeal and enthusiasm. The event was a great success with maximum participation of the children from all the section of Blooms.

27th August 2015 – Fancy Dress Competition – National Leaders

Fancy Dress Competition on the theme “National Leaders” was conducted for class Buds on 27th August 2015. It was the most awaited event, as it always gives a pleasure to watch the toddlers dressed up in different characters, stuttering with their speechs.

The children came forward posing themselves to be the leaders of our country as Chacha Nehru, Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Rani Laxmi Bai, Indira Gandhi, Sarojini Naidu and many more. The competition brought an amiable ambience and the judges retorted with their applause. It was indeed a mesmerizing event which would be etched in our memory for a long time.

26th August 2015 – Ist North India Skating Championship 2015

Skating is a great way to participate in a fitness activity which benefits both the mind and body.

Sachdeva Global School students participated in 1st North India Skating Championship 2015-16 held at Talkatora Stadium, Mother Teresa Crescent, New Delhi 110001. Almost 850 skaters participated. The students of Sachdeva Global School performed extremely well and won 6 Gold, 1 Silver and 4 Bronze medals, total 11 medals.

25th August 2015 – Incredible India Quiz Competition

Unity in Diversity-is one word that explains the whole of India. It’s a land of different cultures, heritages, languages, places and people. The young generation of our country is instilled with immense knowledge about India. In order to bring out this knowledge from within them, our school organized a quiz competition on ‘Incredible India’ to further nurture the young talents. The notifications in the printed format were sent to the parents and a study PPT on incredible India was also uploaded on the school website to provide a glimpse about the questions that would be asked in the quiz. The Quiz had two rounds- 1st round- Prelims and the 2nd round- Final Quiz.

The prelims were conducted in the respective classes itself wherein the students were given a small paper with ten questions, each having two options. The questions were read out to the students and were asked to circle the correct option. Each question carried 1 mark. The students were judged on a scale of ten. From each class, three finalists were selected and five teams A, B, C, D and E were formed, each having three students for the final round of the quiz which was to be held on 25.08.2015. On the day of the final quiz, all the finalists were seated in a room where they were shown some slides on Incredible India and asked questions. Based upon the responses from the students, Team E, Team D and Team C won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

24th August 2015 – Assembly Raksha Bandhan

Relationships are the essence of any festivity and it holds true for any Indian festival. Each occasion brings the family together which calls for a celebration. Raksha Bandhan is a celebration of one such relation – that of a brother and a sister and it is celebrated on the full moon day in the month of Shravan.

On this occasion, the students of class Blooms-B presented a lively assembly on 24th August 2015. The assembly began with a few introductory lines and children threw light on the importance of Raksha Bandhan. Children also presented a small skit to depict the bond of affection between brother and sister, where in siblings pray for each other’s well being and wish for each other’s happiness and goodwill.

At the end, the tiny tots presented a Hindi rhyme on Raksha Bandhan and made the audience to applaud.

The assembly was informative and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

18th August 2015 – Pollution- Its Hazards and measures to curb it

Saving environment from pollution is the need of today, the way we are destroying environment will lead to the destruction of life from this earth. Therefore, it is necessary that we should save environment and everyone should contribute and should do something to save environment from pollution.

To spread this message class Blooms-A presented a very informative assembly on Pollution – Its hazards and measures to curb, on 18th August 2015. The little ones with beautiful headgears and props made the audience aware of different kinds of pollution, its causes and effects and measures to control it. The assembly ended with a Hindi rhyme on save environment and all the children took the pledge that “We should not pollute the environment and our surroundings”. The assembly was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.

18th August 2015 – Tasty and Healthy Workshop by Cornitos

“There’s no love sincerer than the love for food.”

Proving how deeply true it is, the students of classes IV and V tempted their taste buds as they attended a workshop organised by ‘Cornitos’ on 18th August 2015. They were informed how they could pamper their hearts and let the flavor explosion hit them hard without gaining the unwanted calories. They were explained how the junk food, often laced with colors, gradually weakens their system and harms them in the long run .They were educated about the fact that plopping on a sofa, in front of the television, faithfully accompanied by a bowl of wafers and a can of cola may affect their physical as well as psychological growth adversely. They were told various ways of replacing the unhealthy fast food with scrumptious snacks. The workshop not only was informative but also was interactive and filled with fun activities that left the students enthralled and enlightened.



(1st - 14th) August 2015 – Van Mahotsav 2015

1. The school took part in the tree plantation drive, Van Mahotsav, organized by the department of education from 1st to 14th August’15. The aim of the drive was to encourage students to participate in the nationwide drive of planting new trees and making them aware of the advantages of such an exercise. Students from Classes 3 to 10 took part in the drive. Slogan writing, poster making, environmental debate, social awareness through street play and tree plantation were some of the activities in which the students took part in as part of the drive. Details of these activities are covered in succeeding paragraphs.

2. Slogan writing, Poster making and Debate Competitions. Slogan writing and poster making competitions were held for classes 3 to 5. The topic given to the students was ‘Save trees’. Students took part in the competition and came up with some really interesting slogans and posters. A debate on the topic ‘Is man on the right path to save Environment?’ was also held.

3. Awareness through Street Play. Classes IX - X students took part in an awareness drive through a street play (nukkad natak). The students enacted a street play in which the audience were made aware of the importance of planting trees. The students also interacted with the general public (shopkeepers and vendors) in and around the market area of Sector 12 Dwarka and motivated them towards the drive of tree plantation.

4. Tree Plantation. The main activity under the Van Mahotsav drive comprised of planting of new saplings in the school premises. A total of about 100 saplings were planted by the students in and around the school. One each child was made responsible for taking care of the planted sapling in future.

Van Mahotsav 2015 saw an active participation by the students and teachers alike. Such drives would go a long way in making the students aware of their responsibilities towards environment, in addition to making our surroundings greener.

13th August 2015 – Assembly – Independence Day (Class I-E)

The 15th of August is a very important day in the history of our country. It was on this day in 1947 that India won its freedom struggle and got independence. All the people irrespective of their caste, colour and creed celebrate this day every year amidst great rejoicing.

To bring forth the rejoice that the people of India enjoy on this day, the students of class I-E presented an informative skit wherein they spread the message of ‘One Nation, One Country’, and feeling of pride and happiness. The message of celebrating the glorious day with great love and togetherness was also passed on. The skit was accompanied by a beautiful patriotic song ‘Bharat Humko Jaan Se Bhi Pyaara Hai, Sabse Pyaara Gulistan Humara hai.’ It instilled the feeling of unity amongst all.

13th August 2015 – Workshop “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”

A workshop aiming at the proper implementation of the PM Modi’s campaign “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” was conducted by OLX on 13th August 2015. More than 100 students of classes IX-X attended the workshop.

In order to inculcate the sense of responsibility towards keeping the nation and the surroundings clean, the student community was encouraged to present their innovative ideas to combat the problem and register it on the official website of OLX.

The incentive of rewarding the best ideas was an added motivation to all students.



12th August 2015 – INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

The celebrations to mark the 69th Independence Day of Indian Independence at Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka, commenced on August 12, 2015, with the unfurling of the national flag by the Chairman Shri. S. K. Sachdeva accompanied by the playing of National Anthem played by the school orchestra. Shri Sachdeva’s speech to the students and the teachers was not only motivational, but also enthused a new enthusiasm in all for being instrumental towards a better tomorrow. The school students showcased a special programme prepared by them for this national festival.

The programme marked a tribute to the glory of India and the National flag. To enliven the glory of the nation, the students began with a group song followed by a dance drama, voicing the hard work and dedication of the national heroes.

The guests for the day were the members of the managing committee, Mrs. Kiran Gambhir, Dr. R. C. Chaddha, Dr. S.N. Maheswari. Mrs. Sudha Sadhangi, Headmistress, Shri Ram World School, Dwarka was also present.

With much fervor and spirit of patriotism, the programme ended with the release of ‘Tiranga’ balloons in the air with strings of flags trailing behind carrying the message of each Globalite’s dedication to the cause of nation’s growth and freedom.

05th August 2015 – Assembly – People and Places: Respect Them

The assembly started with a warm and a beautiful day. Partly cloudy sky with sun shining amidst the clouds, added to the day’s beauty.

True it is. Let yourself be yourself. Love the way you are and respect the work you do and also the work that people around us do. These lines are true for all individuals. To instill such feelings amongst all, the students of class I-D presented a beautiful skit wherein the students played different characters like ‘ a Postman’, ‘ a Garbage Picker’, ‘ a Sweeper’, ‘ a Traffic Policemen’. The main motive here was to make everyone aware about the importance of different people around us and their respective professions in our lives, to create a feeling of respect, love and affection for these people amongst all.

This world is created by one God, we are the children of one God, we all live on the same earth so it is our duty to respect the place we live in and keep it safe and clean. This was another message given through the skit. The skit was also accompanied by a melodious song ‘Respect Yourself, Respect others and Respect the school’. The children danced to the song and the entire message was summed up through this song.
