(30 - 31) August 2014 - Delhi State Roller Skating Championship

Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka have won 1 Gold 3 Silver and 3 Bronze medals in the Delhi State Roller Skating Championship 2014, held at Dwarka Sports Complex Delhi on 30th – 30st August 2014.

Almost 650 skaters from 56 School participated in competition. The students performed with enthusiasm and zeal and displayed proficiency in the art of skating.

29th August 2014 – Tell – a - Tale

Our little wonder ‘Nitya Shukla’ of class II C participated in the ‘Tell-a-Tale’ competition held at Delhi International School on 29th August 2014. The child had prepared a panchatantra tale about a teacher and his discipline. Out of the number of schools that participated, our little wonder from SGS bagged the second position in the competition with her excellent performance.



29th August 2014 – Lets Preserve Art

To enhance the skills and creativity of child our school participated in Inter School “Lets Preserve Art” Paper Bag Competition in Delhi International School on 29th August 2014. Roopal Singh of class VIIIth B and Garima Tokas of Class VIIth A performed extremely well and stood third in the competition.







28th August 2014 - Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi is the Hindi festival celebrated in honour of the God Ganesha, the elephant – headed remover of obstacles and the God of beginning and wisdom.

On the occassion of Ganesh Chaturthi students of class Blooms A presented a lively and informative assembly. It began with a recital of shloka in Sanskrit followed by an aarti to please lord Ganesha. The assembly was organized to make children understand the importance of Lord Ganesha in our lives and to seek his blessings.

27th August 2014 – Freedom Struggle, Role Model

India has suffered grave injustice and impression under the rule of the Britishers. The 4th Mughal Emperor Jahangir allowed the Britishers to enter India, after the period of Mughals, India went into the hands of the Britishers. The Britishers ruled India for about 300 years. We struggled a lot for our freedom and our freedom fighters fought bravely for the freedom of our country. At last in 1947, India finally got free from the clutches of British rule.

The final round of the JAM competition – Freedom Struggle (My Role Model) for class II was organized on 27th August 2014. The theme of the competition was to make the students understand the importance of the freedom struggle for India’s independence and how our freedom fighters have inspired them to fight for our country’s independence. The competition also can improve the speaking skills and stage confidence of the students. The judges for the competition were Ms. Reena and Ms. Anjana, who had a tough decision to make as all the students were looking extremely good in their costumes. The students were judged upon their content, costume, confidence and their overall performance.

(26 - 27) August 2014 - Hindi Rhyme Recitation

As well all know that India got independent in the month of August after a long strife against Britishers. To memorize and pay gratitude to the great leaders, an Inter Class Hindi Rhyme Recitation competition was organized in the school premises on the topic – अतुलनीय भारत in kindergarten classes.

The performance of tiny tots was extremely astonishing on the stage. The rhymes recited by the children of Buds – Blooms ignited the feeling of Patriotism among the audience. Children presented the rhymes on the topics like मेरा भारत, प्यारा झंडा, मेरा भारत मेरी शान...

26th August 2014 - Freedom Struggle, Role Model

Taking forward the preliminary round of the inter class JAM competition, its final round was held on 26th August 2014, in the school premises.

All the students of class I were the audience to the lovely competition. The extremely talented participants showed great vigour and expression in their speech. They portrayed their “freedom struggle role models” exceptionally. There were many Bhagat Singh, Rani Lakshami bai, Gandhiji, Mangal Pandey etc. but all with their own matchless performances. The participants were judged by the head of the school Mrs. Novita Chopra and Mrs. Anjana. Their props, costumes, content and expression were worth noticing, that attracted everybody towards their enactments. It was a delight to watch such young children giving great competition to each other, with their brimming talents.

26th August 2014 - Solo Piano Competition

On 26-08-2014, a solo piano competition was held in CORONA at Mount Carmel School, Dwarka in which around 26 schools participated from which a student of our school of class XII A, Taksh Sharma secured 2nd Position. We hope to win many competitions in our field in coming future.





23rd August 2014 – Inter School Scholastic Aptitude Test

Student of SGS participated in an Inter School Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) held in Sri Venkateshwar International School, Sec-18, Dwarka on 23rd August 2014.

The competition was called “Face to Face@ Sri VIS” where students were given an aptitude test based on English, Maths & Science and were awarded for their best individual and school performance.

Geetigya Joshi of class VII performed excellently well and won the second prize. All students were awarded with participation certificates.



20th August 2014 – Yoga Championship 2014

Congratulations!!! Arpita Tomar of class V-A participated in Delhi/NCR Inter School Invitational Yoga Championship 2014 and won Gold Medal.












20th August 2014 – Janmashtami

India being the land of many deities, their birth anniversaries is celebrated as great religious festivals. Hence celebrating the beautiful festival of Lord Krishna,s birth , students of class I presented a magnificent assembly on Janmastami.

The assembly was an amalgamation of all the important events in the life of Lord Krishna, presented as small, pleasing Krishna-lilas. The outstanding effort by the students was worth appreciating. The lilas were like musical enactments showing the stages of Krishna’s miraculous life , like lifting the ‘Govardhan Parvat’, the ‘killing of evil Kansa’ etc. The delightful music supporting the assembly made all the audience enjoy the Krishna – lilas more deeply. The students portrayed immense confidence while enacting various roles, related to Krishna’s life. It was an amazing assembly and was quite informative and enjoyable at the same time.

The assembly was concluded by the encouraging and appreciative words by the head of the school, Mrs Novita Chopra.

(16th - 17th) August 2014 - Summer Open Roller Skating Championship 2014

Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka have won 9 Gold 9 Silver and 3 Bronze medals in the Summer Open Roller Skating Championship 2014, held at Remal Public School Delhi on 16th - 17th August 2014.

Almost 560 skaters from 35 School participated in competition. The students performed with enthusiasm and zeal and displayed proficiency in the art of skating.

14th August 2014 – Independence Day

Celebrating the flavor of patriotism, with utmost zeal and expression, the students of class I, conducted a special assembly on the occasion of 68th Independence Day of India.

It was a beautiful breezy morning and the assembly began by the flag hoisting ceremony, done by the head of school, Mrs. Novita Chopra followed up by, singing of the National Anthem, which filled our hearts with great loyalty towards our nation. Then the students of class I performed a musical enactment that depicted our Mother Nation though being divided on the basis of religion, gives a message of unity and brotherhood among its people. A heart touching message that fights and divides are futile and the sanctity of our motherland should be kept was given by the students. This magnificent skit was followed by a poem on the festival, marking the conclusion of the remarkable effort by the students.

The assembly was then followed by the distribution of various certificates and awards won by our young globalities, in various inter school competitions. The events were: English Recitation Competition, Craftsman (Fun with paper) Competition, Incredible India- Theme Based Competitions, Clay Molding Competition, Cold Cooking Competition and Hindi Recitation Competition.

The assembly was concluded by the appreciative words of the head of the school, Mrs. Novita Chopra.

13th August 2014 – Independence Day Celebration

Sachdeva Global School Dwarka celebrated India’s 68th Independence with enthusiasm and zeal on the 13th of August. The school ground was fluttering with energy and the audience as well as the participants seemed equally excited to be a part of the celebration. The chief guest for the show were our Vice Chairman Mr. Anil Sachdeva, Acdemic Head of Sachdeva Group of Schools Mrs. Kiran Gambhir and eminent member of management Mr. R C. Chadha. The show began by flag hoisting and an inspiring speech by Mr. Anil Sachdeva, Vice Chairman, SGS. He motivated the students to be model citizens and uphold the values of integrity and dedication.

This was followed by a scintillating performance by the school band which left everyone mesmerized. A pageant depicting the key moments in India’s freedom struggle was next. It presented the key role played by Gandhiji and revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh and Chandra Shekhar Azad. A dance depicting the multicultural diversity of India was performed by students of classes VIII - X. Finally, the show came to an end with the visual of tricolored balloons flying in the air. The show left a deep impact on the audience and students could be seen discussing and debating the key roles of various freedom fighters even after the show got over.

12th August 2014 – An Inter School Multi-Faceted Fest

Our students Ayush Choudhary and Pushkar Sharma of class IV participated in ‘ARCADIA’ An Inter School Multi-Faceted Fest organized by Paramount International School, Dwarka on 12th August 2014.

They won 3rd prize in the programme – ‘Young Scientist Challenge’ – which was a Science based quiz competition. It consisted of 5 rounds namely.

ROUND – III Audio - Visual
ROUND – IV Science based Magic Show

The children participated with full enthusiasm and were thrilled to win 3rd prize, competing with many schools in the event!



12th August 2014 - Poetry Recitation Competition

The Little wonders of SGS participated in the English poetry recitation competition held at Maxfort School, Dwarka on 12 August 2014. The team from SGS comprised of seven students selected both from classes I and II. The students recited the poem ‘Around the school’ which was self composed by the teachers of SGS. Through the poem they conveyed to the audience about the school infrastructure and the different activities that take place in the school.

Many schools participated in the competition and our little wonders from SGS performed extremely well and bagged the second position in the competition, and brought laurels to the school.

12th August 2014 - Movie Mania Competition

Trying out their hands on a different experience of Movie Making. Globalites have proved yet again that creativity has no bounds. On 12th August 2014, Divyansh Malhotra and Shobhit Sadwal of class XII A brought laurels to school by winning second position in a Movie - Mania Competition held at Paramount School. Their Efforts were acknowledged and they were applauded by the school principal in the following school assembly on 22nd August 2014.

12th August 2014 - Inter School Invitational Yoga Championship 2014

Delhi / NCR Inter School Invitational Yoga Championship 2014 were held at Poorvi Delhi Khel Parisar, Dilshad Garden, Delhi on 12th August 2014.

More than 280 students participated from different school in different age categories.

11th August 2014 - French Quiz

In order to practice French in a fun way, to carry out a project as a team and learn to work in a group, Prayatna Educational Society organized an inter school French Quiz Competition in Indraprastha World School, Paschim Vihar on 11th August 2014 wherein the students of our school got a chance to showcase their talent. They performed with full enthusiasm and won 2nd prize.

8th August 2014 – Visit to International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology

In an endeavour to bring the students of Biological Sciences of classes XI – XII in a direct face – to – face interaction with the big wigs of Biotechnology, a visit to the ICGEB campus was organized on Friday 8th August 2014.

The students visited the lab of Dr. Naveen Khanna, (Group Leader – Recombinant Gene Products) who is in charge of the development of diagnostics and drugs for Dengue fever. The students were given a presentation of the history and the present status of the R & D carried out in this field.

The students were also demonstrated the use of various scientific instruments and tools like the ultracentrifugation chambers and the inverted microscopes. It was a highly inspiring experience for the students, some of whom were motivated to take up research as a professional career.



6th August 2014 – Painting Competition

Children who paint learn to think with an open mind, to look at situations creatively and they learn to express themselves more deeply their art and their words, they are able to take lessons learned through painting and apply those skills to new situation. To enhance these much required skills in the pupels, our school participating in inter school literary festival – Renaissance -14 on the spot painting competition on 6th August 2014 in New Era Public School. Many schools participated in the competition. Six students from SGS, participated in this event.

Roopal Singh of Class VIII B from SGS performed extremely well and stood first in the competition and brought laurels to the school. She was awarded a certificate & trophy



6th August 2014 - Raksha Bandhan

Cherishing the beautiful relationship shared by all the brothers and sisters in India, the festival of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated by class I in their special assembly held on 6th August 2014.

Pleasing weather added more serenity to the assembly conducted by the class. It was a treat for our eyes to watch, young children clad in Indian wear like sari, kurta pyjama, lehngas, enacting out a skit and making the meaning of the festival, come out so beautifully. The skit included various aspects of the lovely festival. Children through their amazing effort and innocence, told us how the festival is celebrated and that our ‘soldiers’ protecting us at the war fronts, are also our brothers and we should pray for their happiness and well being, as well. The assembly was concluded by a delightful poem on rakhi, sung melodiously by the class.

Their innovative presentation and confidence was well appreciated by the Head of the School, Mrs. Novita Chopra.

This was followed by distribution of the certificates, of the quiz competition, held in the classes Buds and Blooms. It was interesting to see such young minds receive, merit certificates for their efficient performance in the quiz.

1st August 2014 - Workshop on Financial Management

The school organized a workshop on ‘Financial Management’ on 1st August 2014 for the students of classes XI – XII. Mr. Manoj Arora, a great author and renowned personality in the field of finance, discussed at length about the importance of money in life. He initiated the workshop by asking from the students about their ambition of becoming rich and wealthy to which the students gave amazing response. The students got the opportunity to demystify some myths regarding financial management. They were also amazed at the idea of becoming a millionaire in few years if some rules of finance were followed. The workshop aimed to foster understanding among students regarding the aspects of financial management. It concluded with a Question-Answer session in which the students clarified their doubts related to the management of money and also gave wonderful answers to the questions asked by the author. All the students enjoyed the workshop. It was a very informative and learning experience for the students.

1st August 2014 – Inter School Event - UDAAN

Indraprastha International School organised an inter school event - Udaan 2014 on 1st August 2014. More than 40 schools participated in this event. Antariksh and Tanish Dhankhar of class V B participated in ‘Present Tech’ (Power Point Presentation) competition and brought laurels to the school by bagging second position.





August 2014 – Badminton Zonals

Students of SGS participated in the Badminton Zonals. Priyansh Gakhar, Rohan Bakshi and Rahul Kant of Class XI Participated in the Senior Category and qualified pre-quarter to finals. They all have performed par excellence in all the matches and were highly appreciated by the other schools that had participated in the same. These students have made SGS proud and we wish them the very best for the finals, which is scheduled for Ist Week of September.
