28th December 2012 - Special Assembly New Year

‘Tick – Tock Tick – Tock –Welcome 2013’

The students of classes Blooms – D and VII A conducted a special assembly on New Year. The children were told about the reason for celebrating new year and the importance of making and following the new year resolutions. The children celebrated new year by presenting a dance performance followed by a song. At the end children busted balloons to bid farewell to 2012 and to welcome 2013.

22nd December 2012 - Interactive Session with Parents

With an aim to address the concerns of the parents of the students of Primary Level by being just and transparent, an interaction was organised by the Head of the School, Mrs. Novita Chopra on 22nd December 2012.

It initiated with the General Introduction by Mam followed by a PPT demonstrating few parental tips mandatory for the upbringing of the children to face the hardships of life. A general acquaintance with the infrastructure of the school along with the advancements in it was made by Mam to highlight the plethora of opportunities available to the children studying in SGS. A reference was made to the new venture of Global Partnership which will be an international exposure for the students. Emphasis was laid on the need of instilling social skills in a child in the base years by taking corrective measures and responding to the situation rather than reacting to it. The achievements of the SGS family in the last 2 months were also brought into the notification of the parents. Later, the parents were asked to discuss their queries and give their suggestions. Parents appreciated the initiative of the school to provide such a platform, where they can interact freely. The interaction ended with a promise to enrich, excel and giving a tough competition to all the schools of Delhi by strengthening a bond between the parents & the teachers.

22nd December 2012 - Robotic Workshop

A workshop on ‘Robotics’ was organized by Sachdeva Global School on Saturday, 22nd December 2012 for the students and parents of classes VI to VIII. The Resource person Mr. Tarun Bhalla, a Robotics expert explained the usage of Robotics as a tool to teach Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. After the explanation a kit was given to the students, which contained mechanical and electronic parts. A Manual was also given to them, which contained instructions for making a motorized Robot. It was an interesting activity for the students and parents team. Each team comprised of a parent and a student. Parents helped the students in making the robot and appreciated the school for providing such an innovative activity.

21st December 2012 - Christmas Assembly

Festival time is again round the corner, when Santa Claus is going to come and fulfill our wishes. A special assembly on Christmas was presented by the students of Blooms-B and IV. The little ones spoke about the festival Christmas and the preparations which go into the same. Melody of carols was also presented by the class – IV students. One of our staff member dressed as Santa distributed candies to all the students and also asked their wishes. The assembly was a great hit with all the students as they enjoyed alongside gaining more knowledge about the festival – Christmas.




21st December 2012 - Christmas Tree Decoration

Inter House Christmas Tree Decoration was conducted on Friday, 21st December 2012 to celebrate Christmas. All the four houses decorated the trees with enthusiasm. The students enjoyed themselves thoroughly and actively participated in the event. Peace house emerged out to be the winner and Harmony House was the winner’s up of the competition. Head of the school, Mrs. Novita Chopra congratulated the winners and appreciated their efforts.

21st December 2012 – Role Play

Learning Science is an active process in which students construct their own understanding of the events of life, keeping this view in mind a role play activity was conducted on Friday, 21st December 2012 for students of class VI. The students were actively involved in the activity. They were dressed as lion, snow leopard, yak, fish, blue whale, camel, snake, cactus, pine tree, etc and acted as if they were components of biological system. The activity helped the students to develop their confidence problem solving ability, acquisition of language skills and self concept. Role play activity was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

18th December 2012 - Workshop on Health Issues

“Good health and good sense are two of the life’s greatest blessings”

Since childhood is the best time to inculcate healthy habits in the young minds, “GO FOR HEALTH” programme was organized by SGS to educate the children of primary classes III – V on healthy practices in everyday life. The basic aspects of health such as working of the human body and factors responsible for falling sick sensitize the children on various health issues. A visual stimulus through a well-planned PPT including holistic education on potentially hazardous health conditions was provided which proved to be immensely beneficial in maintaining one’s wellness. The programme aimed at equipped the children to be a health custodian for them and it ultimately served its purpose.

(17 – 20) December 2012 - State Level Science Exhibition 2012

Student of SGS have brought laurels to the school by winning the State Level Science Exhibition 2012.

About 300 exhibits have been selected under different sub-themes for display at State Level Science Exhibition 2012 from 17th – 20th December 2012. The objective of the exhibition was to foster scientific temper and deeper environmental awareness among the student.

Mode of an Eco-friendly House made by students of class – X was selected under the sub-theme Natural Resources and Their Conservation, in State Level Science Exhibition. Students were awarded certificates and trophies by Mr. Amit Singla, Director of Education.

13th – 15th December 2012 – Science Exhibition

Central Zonal Level Science Exhibition was organized by Directorate of education, Delhi from 13th – 15th December 2012 at Science Centre no-2, Vasant Vihar, Delhi, school from different zones participated in it. There were different sub themes and in each sub theme around 20 models were displayed by students of different school. Mr. N. C. Vajpeyi (Director SCERT) was the chief guest of the programme. Our School had participated in the ‘Natural Resources and Their Conversation’ sub theme. The name of our model was ‘Eco Friendly Home’. This model is made by student of our school. Divyansh Malhotra (X-A) and Prithvi Raj (X-A). Our school model was appreciated by various visitors, teachers and also by judges. They gave us some valuable suggestions. Our model was selected for the State Level Science Exhibition to be held on 18th - 20th December 2012. Our students were awarded trophies and certificates.

19th December 2012- Inter House Volleyball Match

Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka, organised an inter house volley ball match between Glory, Harmaony, Peace and Pride house. The semi finals of the match were held on 5th and 12th December respectively between Glory and Peace; Pride and Harmony. The finals of the match was between Glory house and Harmony house on 19th December.Glory house emerged as the winners.It was an interesting match played by the teams and all the students of primary and senior classes seated as spectators cheered for their favorites houses!!

The morning was filled with enthusiasm and energy. Head of the school, Mrs. Novita Chopra congratulated the participants of both the teams and wished them good luck for the future.

15th December 2012 - PARENTING Workshop

‘Creating no limit children’

Every child is born with all the power in the world. By providing a nurturing and stimulating environment we can support raising their intelligence and their unlimited potential. In view of the above a seminar by Mr. Sushant Kalra, Director, Parwarish Institute of Parenting was held on 15th December 2012. Head of the school, Mrs. Novita Chopra addressed the parent fraternity and gave them very essential 5 tips for parenting. This workshop gave an insight into how to become a role model for our children and spend quality time with them. It opened a window towards healthy childhood & parenthood.

14th December 2012 – Visit to Rashtrapati Bhawan

Students of classes VI and VII, got the golden opportunity to visit Rashtrapati Bhawan, considered to be one of the best known monuments of India on Friday, 14th December 2012. The Rashtrapati Bhawan is the house of parliament of India also known as the Viceroy’s House is a real masterpiece that was built in the British period. It is the focal point of New Delhi and situated in the Raisina Hills.

A guide showed the students around the vast mansion and enriched their knowledge about the place. The splendor of the Rashtrapati Bhawan is multi-dimensional. It is a vast mansion and its architecture is breathtaking. Rashtrapati Bhawan is a beautiful amalgamation of Eastern and Western architectural style.

They visited the Lutyen Gallery, Marble house, kitchen Gallery, Gift GALLERY, Dining Hall, Ashoka Hall, Durbar Hall (the major venue of all official ceremonies of the Indian Government such as the oath taking ceremony by the Prime Minister, the Cabinet and the Members of the parliament) and the Mughal Garden. They found the Rashtrapati Bhawan grand in every sense, whether it was ceiling with its amazing design or the beautifully carved furniture or the exquisite presents of the President collected from all over the world or the history related to it.

Students enjoyed exploring the visual treat that the Rashtrapati Bhawan is and were amazed to see the beauty and magnificence of this historical building.

14th December 2012 – Assembly Food

Healthy mind rest in healthy body and for healthy body we must eat healthy food. In this view the students of classes BLOOMS presented an Assembly on Food on 14th December 2012. Students came dressed in attractive costumes of Healthy food items and spoke few lines on themselves. Junk food was also introduced. Students debated on Healthy v/s Junk Food. They also gave a dance performance – Food Train. Special attraction of the assembly was a body double dance by one of our talented teacher. Children had lot of fun and enjoyed every moment of it.

12th December 2012 – Eco Adventure Camp

In order to give a break from daily routine work, the students of classes Buds – II were taken to Eco Adventure Camp, Najafgarh. At the venue the students were escorted by the team members of the camp. To start with a magic show was organized which was enjoyed by everyone. Children also enjoyed the rides on camel cart, bullock cart and tractor. Other Adventure activities included ‘Flying Fox’, ‘Tyre Climbing’, ‘Burma Bridge’. In-house DJ played rocking music to which the students as well as teachers danced to the fullest. The food provided to the students was mouth watering and children relished it.

07 December 2012 – Animal World

Students of class I-C took everyone on a virtual tour of vast kingdom of animals on 7th December 2012. Students presented a song in which they talked about various characters of ‘Animal World’. The song was followed by some useful information about different kinds of animals. This assembly also instilled the values of taking care of our Animal Friends.










06 December 2012 – HT PACE Painting Competition

On the spot Painting Competition was organized on 6th December 2012 for classes III – V in collaboration with Hindustan Times. Students were give topics according to their age groups like ‘School Chale Hum’ for classes III – IV, ‘When I grow up, I want to become a…….’ for classes V – VII and ‘Right to Education’ for class VIII. Students made beautiful paintings portraying their ambitious careers like teacher, doctor, artist, pilot etc. Few students even showed their keen interest to eradicate child labour and expressed their support for ‘Right to Education’, for every child.

Certificates of participation were awarded to all the students and top three winning entries were selected for the Mega Exhibition organized by Hindustan Times that pledge to proceed towards the cause of educating underprivileged children.

4th December 2012 - Talent Hunt Competition

Talent is an ability that someone is born with people may have talent for music, dancing, acting, sport and other skills. Each one of us is talented. GOD has bestowed everyone with some or the other talent.

Sachdeva Global School organized a Talent Hunt Competition on 4th December 2012 for students of classes III - X. The students got a chance to put their best foot forward by showcasing their talents. They also enjoyed it and participated with full vigor. The categories involved were solo and group dance, solo song, instrumental and mime show.

1st December 2012 – Workshop AVENUES

Senior Secondary students of SGS attended a Career Seminar organized by Maxfort School, Dwarka AVENUES – 2012, on 1st December 2012. The objective of the program was to provide a platform for the students who are at the verge of making career decisions, to interact with expert from various fields, to prepare them to face the challenges of the ever expanding & competitive world of work.

Many schools participated in this seminar. It was chaired by Mr. Ravindran, a renowned educationist as well as a psychologist.

He gave a deep insight towards a better career through the following 3 steps –
  • To know about yourself – which includes parameters like one’s interest, aptitude, personality & values.
  • To know about the world of work
  • To postpone your gratification for sometimes, to become great learners & leaders of your profession.

After the combined session of students & teachers, a separate session was conducted for the students in different seminar halls, orienting them about different fields that included – Defence, Law, Company Secretary, Designing and Hotel Management.

Mr. Ravindran took counseling session for teachers also, where individual teaching problems faced in the classroom were discussed. They conduced the seminar with a vote of thanks.
