SMART SOLUTIONS BY GLOBALITIES

Smart Bin-Our school entry for the CBSE Annual Science Exhibition (2018-19)
Our school has always been sensitive to the need for social and environment protection. Community
outreach and social up gradation, is integral to our school’s virtues. Thus in our endeavours to align our
acts with our school’s vision, our students, Rythum Bawa and Aryan Singh designed and developed an
in-house “SMART DUSTBIN”. Though a prototype, it is a complete Automated Garbage Disposal System.

The solution consists of a simple dustbin mounted over a simple metallic base and fitted with a
programmable sensor. When the bin is full to a certain level, the sensor triggers the micro-controller
fitted to the base. The controller then triggers the motors attached to the base of the bin. Using IR
sensors, the bin moves along a predefined path. This path is labelled using a black tape. The sensors
also ensure that the bot stops in-case of an obstacle in its path. The bot on reaching the clearance
point, clears the bin automatically and returns to its original position.
With a host of upgrades already being worked on, our solution was selected for the final round of the
exhibition. We were among the 450 entries selected from over 21000 exhibits from across the nation.

LEVEL (2019-20)

In our continuous effort to sensitize the students to the
environment through hands-on and thought-provoking
activities; two students our school Ayush Choudhary and
Jazbia Junaid of class IX participated in CBSE Regional
level exhibition which was held at Birla Vidya Niketan on
29 and 30th November 2019.
ATMOSPHERIC WATER GENERATOR was based on
adopting pragmatic solution to reduce wastage. The
model has even qualified to participate at National level.
The Atmospheric Water Generator is a device capable of
converting atmospheric moisture directly into usable or
even drinking water. Thereby, championing the cause of
an ecologically balanced environment.
