30th September 2014 – Assembly on Gandhi Jayanti

Gandhi Jayanti is the national festival celebrated every year on 2nd October. It marks the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

On this occasion children of class Buds–A presented an inspiring assembly on 30th September 2014. It began with introductory lines and motivational quotes spoken by Mahatma Gandhi and his contribution to our freedom struggle. Children also dramatized a rhyme named ‘3 wise monkeys of Bapu’. Portraying – see no evil, hear no evil and say no evil. The tiny tots also presented a lively dance performance on the song ‘Vande Mataram’. The assembly was very informative and thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.

29th September 2014 – Visit to SBI Bank

In an endeavor to provide hands on experience, students of class XIIB visited the main branch of STATE BANK OF INDIA at Parliament Street on 29th September 2014 along with their teachers. The visit provided them an opportunity to observe and understand banking activities.

Students were welcomed through the E lobby OF SBI that included the machines which are used for depositing & withdrawal of money .Students were shown the entire process of depositing and withdrawal of cash at various counters, locker availability, depositing of cheque and priority banking facility etc. Students were made familiar with various documents used in bank like Pay-in-slip, Cheque book and Pass book. SBI gave an opportunity to students to open their own savings accounts as well. .

At the end, queries of students were addressed well by the employees of SBI. The visit was well grasped by students and such an exposure will certainly enriched the students with general procedures about banking procedures.



29th September 2014 – Talent Hunt Competition - I

Talent is the gift by God that is instilled in every person, and to nurture and polish it, is our gift back to God. To help our little artists in this task, a talent hunt was organized for them in the school premises. It was an intra class competition among the students of class I. Students were encouraged to participate in different categories namely – singing, dancing and instrumental, to showcase their hidden talents with great poise and confidence. It was a beautiful sight to see such young children, moving to the beats of the songs, some surprising us with their melodious voices and few others astonishing us with the magic their little fingers could do, on the musical instruments. They were judged on various aspects of their performances like costumes, expression, rhythm, clarity etc. It was a delightful event to see such young talents compete with one another with great enthusiasm. Concluding the competition, our judges Mrs. Poonam and Mrs. Shiny, announced the following results for the talent hunt:

29th September 2014 – Adventure Camp (III – V)

All Work and No Play makes Jack a Dull Boy

We are never more fully alive, more completely ourselves or more deeply engrossed in anything than when we are playing.

Furthering the very goal of imparting education and helping the students evolve into self-reliant and confident individuals, who appreciate team work and togetherness, a one day Adventure Camp was organized for the students of classes III - V in the school premises by ‘Great Rocksport Pvt. Ltd.’ under the guidance of trained professionals on 29th September 2014.

The day brought about a remarkable charisma as the students of these classes girded up their loins and entered the world of fun and excitement. Various activities organized for the students, the teachers participating hand in hand with them, along with providing ample supervision, doubled up the enjoyment. A variety of enriching experiences were offered to the children as they performed activities like ‘Commando Crawl, Body Zorb, Hop Scotch, Rock Wall Climbing, Commando Net, Three Tyre Hurdle, Cross Fire, Tug of War’ etc. The most fascinating activity that gave chills to many students was the ‘Zip-Lining’ which left them all stunned and enthralled.

The day ended helping the students learn many sport skills and developing technical know-how and also providing ecstatic experiences filled with lots of joy and zeal.

29th September 2014 – Talent Hunt Competition - II

Talent is a special natural ability or aptitude that every individual possess. Young children have an ocean of hidden talent amongst them. To give the students a chance to showcase their talent, a talent hunt competition was organized for the students of class II. The theme of the competition was to give the students a chance to showcase their innate talents and perform with full confidence and enthusiasm. Taking forward the preliminary round of the competition, the final round was organized on 29.9.14.The students dressed in colorful dresses were full of confidence prior to their performances. The competition included three categories- Vocal Music, Dance and Instrumental Music. The competition started with students singing in tunes of Indian music. Some students also displayed their talents by dancing and playing different musical instruments. The audience which comprised of all class II students were spellbound by the performances of their friends and enjoyed thoroughly. The judges of the competition were Ms. Poonam, Ms. Bharti Kapoor and Mr. Mohit. They had a tough time in making the decision as all the students were extremely good in their performances.

26th September 2014 – Inter School Skating Championship Trophy

Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka have won 2 Gold 2 Silver and 1 Bronze medal in Inter-School Skating Championship Trophy 2014, held at DDA Sports Complex, Dilshad Garden, Delhi on 26th September 2014.

25th September 2014 – Adventure Camp (I – II)

The objective of an Adventure Camp is to offer an opportunity to the youth to grow, develop and practice principles of togetherness and self – reliance.

An adventure camp was organized for the students of class I – II on 25th September 2014 in the school campus. The camp gave an opportunity to the students to sharpen their minds, learn while having fun and to help them in becoming physically and psychologically more strong and confident. The students were given a thrilling and unforgettable experience of different adventure activities like Burma Bridge, Zip Line, Zorbing Ball, Tarzan Swing and different fun activities. The students had a fun filled experience and enthusiastically took part in all the activities organized for them.

25th September 2014 - Visit to Gandhi Museum

With the view to break the monotony of the regular schedule, students of class V were taken on an educational trip to the Gandhi museum on 25th September. The fun and frolic ultimately met its motive in the trip which offered a room for infotainment. They got an opportunity to be one with the life and works of an eminent believer of truth and non-violence-Mahatma Gandhi. The glimpses of the digitalization of the museum left the children flabbergasted and impressed their psyche to the utmost level. It was an enjoyable experience which created a joyous spree among them.

24th September 2014 – Pottery Workshop

Pottery workshop was organized on 24th September 2014 for classes IV – VI in collaboration with the Hindustan Times. Students were taught various techniques of making different items such as designer pots and diyas using potter’s wheel. Their skill of creativity was enhanced as they transformed the solid mass of day with the help of the potter. Students thoroughly enjoyed this creative workshop.

24th September 2014 - Assembly on Dussehra

Dussehra, also known as Vijaydashmi, is a Indian festival celebrated on the tenth day of Ashvin month according to the Hindu Calendar. The day is celebrated to commemorate the killing of Ravana by Lord Rama. Dussehra celebration spread the message of the victory of good over evil.

On this occasion students of class Blooms E presented a colourful and lively assembly. The children were made aware of the importance of this festival. The tiny tots enthralled the entire audience with enactment of the entire Ramayana from birth of Lord Rama to the killing of Ravana. The assembly was very informative and was enjoyed by one and all.

24th September 2014 - Movie Watching

A Movie Show was organized by SGS in collaboration with Hindustan Times at Liberty Cinema, Karol bagh on 24.9.14.It was a refreshing break for the students from the daily study days. The children saw the movie ‘Entertainment’. It was a very entertaining and funny movie. The humorous jokes tickled everyone’s funny bones. It was a wonderful experience for the children as well as the teachers. The movie was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.

23rd September 2014 - A Jaunt Through Our Roots

An educational trip to the National Museum of History, Janpath was organized for the students of class IV on 23 September 2014, in collaboration with TIMES NIE.

Not only did the trip provide the students a chance to explore the objects of the ancient civilization but also introduced them to a vast anthropology collection preserved there, highlighting the lifestyles of the folk and tribal people. The trip proved interactive and equally enjoyable as the young guide escorting the students, informed them about the excavated things of Mohen-jo-daro and Harappa Culture. They enthusiastically viewed the tools, earthen pots, ornaments and other important items of that era. The exhibits of the sculptures, art forms, coins and jewellery used in various periods aroused several queries in the students’ young minds and left them amazed as they gathered information about each one of them. The students were also taken for a tour through the display of the specimens of the very impressive and sophisticated arms and armours used by various kings and their warriors. The exhibit enjoyed the most by the students was that of the tribal lifestyle showcasing unique dresses, musical instruments and masks used by different tribes around the country.

The visit broadened the pupils’ knowledge as they learnt about their glorious past in a fun filled manner.

23rd September 2014 - Jagdeep Memorial Skating Competition

Students of SGS, Dwarka have won 8 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medals in Jagdeep Memorial Skating Competition, held at Remal Public School, Sec-3, Rohini, New Delhi on 23rd September 2014.

Many Schools participated in competition. The students performed with enthusiasm and zeal and displayed proficiency in the art of skating.

20th September 2014 – Astronomy and Joey’s Club Activity – Pressure (Classes III – V)

Pressure session of Joey’s club was successfully conducted on 20th September 2014. Students had an interactive session accompanied with demonstration of ‘egg in bottle and blower activity’. They had wonderful experience with hands on activity ‘scuba diver’.












15th September 2014 - Hindi Diwas

14th September is celebrated as Hindi Day or Hinid Diwas. It is celebrated all through India to show the importance of Hindi language in our country.

Students of class Blooms D presented a very informative assembly on Hindi Diwas on 15th September 2014. The little ones with beautiful head gears made the audience aware of this special day and the importance of our mother tongue in today’s scenario. The children also recited a rhyme on Hindi language and there was a dance performance on the song ‘Akshar Geet’. The assembly was enjoyed by all.

11th September 2014 - Inter School Zonal Qawwali

God send his singers upon earth with songs of happiness and of mirth, that they might touch the hearts of people and bring them back to heaven again.

With the gift of melody our SGS students of classes IV – VIII went for an Inter School Zonal Qawwali competition in Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Sec-3, Dwarka on 11th September 2014 organized by DoE. Our students prepared a Sufi Qawwali devoted to the all mighty with their excellent performance and efforts. Our SGS students secured first position and brought laurels to the school. We wish them the very best for the state level.

11th September 2014 – Workshop for Drivers and Helpers by IGL

Indraprastha Gas Ltd. R K Puram New Delhi have conducted ‘onsite’ “Safety Clinic” in our school premises on 11th September 2014 at 10:00 a.m. to educate school vehicle drivers & helpers regarding the safety measures one has to adhere to in respect of using the CNG Vehicles.

The objective of the safety clinic was to impart practical training to the drivers and helpers of the school regarding safety measures for using CNG & emergency control techniques.

In total 22 drivers and helpers attended the workshop. The session was very educative, informative and useful. The training given to them cleared many doubts regarding safety measures for using CNG & how to combat in case of any eventuality & contingency.

9th September 2014 - Plants are Our Green Friends

Plants are our Green Friends: Plants are the backbone of all life on Earth and an essential resource for human being.

On 9th September 2014 student of class Blooms - C transported us to the ‘Plant Kingdom’ by presenting a very lively and informative assembly. Children threw light on various types of plants i.e. Herbs, trees climbers, shrubs etc and their uses. Children also talked about various products we get from plants. The assembly ended with a small but very informative skit on ‘SAVE TREES’. The assembly was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.

5th September 2014 - Teacher’s Day

Teachers Day is celebrated on 5th September 2014 every year to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The day is dedicated to teachers’ who play a prominent role in the life of the students.

On this occasion the student of class Blooms B presented a colourful and lively assembly on 4th September 2014. The assembly began with a recital of Sanskrit Shaloka. The children also recited few rhymes throwing light on the importance of teachers in student’s life as a guide for life who show their students the path towards success and prosperity.

3rd September 2014 – Inter House Solo Talent Competition

“Everyone has talent. What's rare is the courage to follow it to the dark places where it leads.”

In which school’s like SGS (Sachdeva Global School) gives a platform to students to represent their talents in any field. It not only helps the participating students to show their abilities but also motivates other students, to come up front and show their hidden potential.

On 3rd September 2014 Wednesday, Inter house solo talent competition from classes VI – VIII was held in which Pride House was the winner by taking the 1st and 2nd positions.

September 2014 - Badminton Zonals

Students of SGS participated in the Badminton Zonals. Priyansh Gakhar, Rohan Bakshi and Rahul Kant of Class XI Participated in the Senior Category they scored Second Position and performed well.
