30th November 2012 - Annual School Picnic (VI – XI)

Sachdeva Global School, organized the annual picnic for student of classes VI – XI to Adventure Island on 30th November 2012. It was quite refreshing for the students as it gave them a little break from the regular studies. The students were excited and happy. They enjoyed the rides of various swings like twister, splash, striking cars and so on.

There was a magic show at 12:30 p.m. which was quite entertaining. Hot and delicious lunch was also served for students and teachers. Students had a lot of fun and were back to school in the evening.

30th November 2012 - Different Type of Plants

‘Plants are the backbone of life on Earth and an essential resource for human beings’. The importance of the same was depicted by the students of class I-B. The students spoke on different categories of plants like tress, scrubs, herbs, climbers etc. They also provided information on how plants are important in our daily life. In support to their content they recited a poem. In the end an oath was taken by the student to grow more trees so that we can keep our environment ‘clean and green’.

30th November 2012 - One Nation Reading Together

On Friday, 30th November 2012, “One Nation Reading Together” activity was held at 12:00 noon in the school premises. An Initiative of Scholastic India Pvt. Ltd, its purpose is to enrich the habit of reading among children. The students of classes III – V assembled in the ground and they took a pledge to read everyday and all of them read the books of their choices.

27th November 2012 – Guru Nanak Jayanti

Guru Nanak Gurpurab also known as Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Utsav, marks the birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru Guru Nanak. This is one of the most scred festivals in Sikhism. Apart from Sikhs, the Nanakpanthi Hindus and other followers of Guru Nanak’s philosophy also celebrate this festival.

Students of class III-B of Sachdeva Global School celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanti in the morning assembly they presented the prayer – Ik Onkar and also enlightened the audience about the importance of the festival. It was very informative and well executed assembly.




24th November 2012 – CCE workshop for Parents

In an effort to encourage parents to play active role in the education of their children. SGS organized awareness workshop and open session for parents on 24th November 2012. Parents of classes VI – VIII and classes IX – X were addressed by the Head of the school, Mrs Novita Chopra in two different sessions. They were made aware of the methodology followed by the school for assessing students, under scholastic and co-scholastic areas formally/informally as per CBSE’s Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation System (CCE). Various strategies used and extracurricular activities taken up by the teachers were explained in detail using a ppt. Later during the open session, parents appreciated the efforts of the teachers and management in providing excellent infrastructure and environment for teaching – learning process and gave a number of suggestions, which were taken note of.

23rd November 2012 – ‘People Who Help Us’

‘Each profession deserves its own respect’

Without a mason we cannot think of building our dream house, without a teacher we cannot think about Literacy, without a farmer we cannot grow vegetables on our own. This clearly shows importance of each and every profession. The same was depicted by the students of I-A. The portrayal of different professions by the students in colourful attires helped the audiences to understand the importance and respect different professions.

(22 – 24) November 2012 – Scholastic Book Fair

Books are the quietest and most constant of friends, they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors and the most patient of teachers. A three day Scholastic Book Fair was organized in Sachdeva Global School from (22 – 24) November to provide an enriching experience to the students and what could be better than having hundreds of attractive books right inside the school premises. The children were thrilled and overjoyed. The books ranged from simple colourful books for nursery classes to some of the famous books and best sellers for the senior students. It was an effort on the part of the school to motivate the students to develop reading habit.

(22-23) November 2012 – Visit to Gurudwara

“Guru Nanak Jayanti” – being a sacred festival of the Sikh community, is falling on Wednesday, 28th November 2012. The importance of this event was instilled in the little ones of classes Buds - Blooms. A visit to a nearby Gurudwara was organized on 22nd and 23rd November 2012. Students were excited and happy to see the ongoing preparations for the approaching festival. The sikh guru as they call him ‘Bhai Ji’ elaborated on the sacred ‘Guru Granth Sahib’ and the teachings of the Guru. Kids were told about the importance of always wearing ‘bandana’ inside the Gurudwara and they were also given the ‘Prasad’.

21st November 2012 – Career Counselling Workshop

If talent is harnessed properly, it will not be lost in oblivion

A career counselling workshop was held in Sachdeva Global School on 21st November 2012 for students of classes IX – XI. The base line of the workshop was to help the perspective generation to understand their hidden talent through an interactive counseling by the expert – Mr. Jatin Chawla – eminent educationist and famous counsellor. Choosing the field according to one’s interest and capability and then pursuing the same with conviction leads to success that is what Mr. Chawla conveyed to the gathering. By illustrating live cases and thought provoking deliberations, he made the atmosphere extremely electrifying and involved each and every participant to understand and realize their inherent strengths to opt their best suited career options. The interactive session at the end helped students in clarifying their doubts.

20th November 2012 – Inter School Quiz Competition

Shri Balwant Institute of Technology (SBIT), Sonepat organized Ist round of 3rd Inter School Quiz Competition at SGS. All students from classes IX - XI were given the opportunity to participate in the written round of the quiz. Three of our students –Arpit (XI), Palak (XI) and Saurav (X) qualified the initial round and were selected for the Grand Finale which was held on 23rd November 2012 at Hansraj Model School. It was an opportunity for the students to interact with one another and add to their own skills in the journey towards becoming acknowledged leaders of tomorrow.






(19 - 20) November 2012 – CBSE National Skating Championship

Most of us start out playing a sport as means of fun and recreation. But somewhere along the way, in the midst of all the fun we realize that sports can often be a metaphor for achieving success in life and Sangharsh Khandelwal, student of class XI of Sachdeva Global School has proved it right by winning the second position (Silver medal) in CBSE National Skating Championship held at DAV, Amritsar. He has brought laurels to his school and his family.

20th November 2012 – Visit to Axis Bank

In an endeavour to provide hands on experience as a part of their CBSE Business Studies Curriculum students of class XIB visited the Axis Bank, Dwarka along with the teacher. The visit provided them an opportunity to observe and understand banking activities.

Students were shown the entire process of depositing and withdrawal of cash at various counters, lockers availability, depositing of cheque and priority banking facility etc. Students were made familiar with various documents used in bank like Pay-in-slip, Cheque book and Pass book.

At the end, queries of students were addressed well by the employees of Axis bank. The visit was well grasped by students and such an exposures will certainly enrich awareness of our students.








9th November 2012 – Diwali Celebration

Festival reinforces the presence of God in the life of an individual, a family and a community as a whole. Diwali is the festival of light, which is long awaited by everyone every year. The school celebrated Diwali on 9th November 2012 by presenting a special assembly wherein the students of class X performed a skit on the epic Ramayana followed by a theme based street play – ‘Say No To Crackers’ by class XI students. The talented lot of class II came forward with a splendid dance performance on this special occasion of Diwali to put forward the celebration of life.

7th November 2012 - Special Assembly Children’s Day

A special assembly was conducted on Wednesday, 7th November 2012 by the students of class III-A to celebrate Children’s Day. In India, Children’s Day is celebrated on 14th November, on the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. Because of his extreme love for children, he became popular as ‘Chacha Nehru’ among the children. Students celebrated his birthday with full vigour and enthusiasm. The stage was decorated with balloons. Students presented a special song followed by a speech to grace the occasion. The role of ‘Chacha Nehru’ was played by Tanish whose strong message was applauded by one and all. The students also presented a special poem in his honour, which was enjoyed by everyone.

7th November 2012 - Trees Our Green Friends

The relationship between plants and people is a long and continuous one. The same message was strengthened by an assembly presented by students of class II-A on the theme – ‘Trees Our Green Friends’. Students through songs and acts presented different facts on the significance of trees and ways to protect them. Plants are the source of many indispensable products that shape our lives. They act as backbone of all life on earth and an essential source of human being.

In true sense of the word ‘Trees are Our Green Friends’.

6th November 2012 - Visit to Bal Bhawan

Visit to Bal Bhawan was planned to develop creative thinking among children through non formal educational activities which will inculcate in them confidence, self reliance, patriotism and love for values that in turn will make our nation stronger. On 6th November 2012 students of classes III – V visited Bal Bhawan in collaboration with HT Pace. The visit gave the students a wonderful opportunity to observe the nature closely. Special attractions were mirror house, science gallery, swings and a museum named ‘Hamara Bharat’. Children explored the astronomical facts related to the SUN and its family. Historical facts were reviewed through various carvings on the walls of the museum. It was a sort of infotainment for them and to the delicacies of nature, they just had one word to describe it all – WOW!

5th November 2012 – Making Compost Pit

Compositing is an effective and environment friendly solution for turning yard waste and kitchen scraps into a beneficial soil amendment. In this effect the students of classes VIIA – VIIB made a compost pit; they dug a pit and put layers of different organic materials into it and then they watered each layer of top soil. It was an altogether new experience for the students and it enabled them to understand the importance of having a healthy environment.




5th November 2012 - Craft Workshop

The craft work includes activities like cutting, tearing, pasting, colouring, finger printing, origami etc. These activities are used as talking points with children, besides giving them the joy that lies in creating things with their own hands.

A craft workshop was organized on Monday, 5th November 2012 for classes III – VII by Mr. Narendra Rai belonging to Mahatma Gandhi Handicraft Training Centre. He demonstrated making of various decorative items such as wall hangings, lanterns etc. All the students enjoyed a lot learning the things. The main attraction was the use of paper and scissors. The workshop was appreciated by all the students and they enjoyed learning making those items.

5th November 2012 - Tata Power Energy Workshop

It is well said that “Energy saved is energy generated”. To give a shape to this thought a workshop on Power Conservation was organized by Tata Energy Power Club for the students of classes VI – VIII on 5th November 2012. The aim of this workshop was to create awareness among school students who would in turn sensitize their families and neighborhoods to curtail energy wastage through dynamic and innovative measures. School children were trained to understand the basics such as interpretation of electricity bills, steps that will help curb wastage of power at home, school and society with the help of Energy Audits and Energy Calculators, Optimizing the use of electrical gadgets / devices at home with the participation of family members, recording and sharing the effective practices adopted and results within their immediate circle. Students were encouraged to became member of Tata Power Energy Club and also participate in a city quiz which will be organized on 29th November 2012.

3rd November 2012 - Skating Championship

Skating is a great way to participate in a fitness activity that benefits both the mind and the body.

Modern Convent School, Dwarka organized 3rd Tek Chand Mann Memorial Inter School Skating Championship on Saturday, 3rd November 2012. It was a wonderful experience for the students. The students of Sachdeva Global School performed extremely well and won 5 gold, 6 silver and 9 bronze medals. The school was also awarded the first runner’s up trophy.

2nd November 2012 - Visit to Gurudwara

In an endeavour to foster secularism and make the students understand and appreciate each religion, 145 students of classes I – II visited a Gurudwara located at sec-11, Dwarka, on Monday, 2nd November 2012. Students were briefed about the significance of sikh religion and the ‘Guru Grantha Sahib, the holy book of the Sikhs. After the prayer, the Prasad was distributed to the students. The visit truly gave them an essence of Guru Nanak Jayanti (28 Nov).
