Timeless Travels

One of the most treasured memories of school life are the picnics, educational trips and adventure camps attended with friends. To ensure that our students can add more to this treasure, every year the school organizes visits for all. Smiling faces, twinkling eyes and giggling laughter – are our memories from each such trip. And yes together we learn sharing and caring, team spirit and time management and come back enriched and empowered.


 
Annual Picnic - JoyGaon 07th-December-2019 – Annual Picnic - JoyGaon

Picnic is a day that offers a welcoming, lively, safe, positive and diverse environment where children gain confidence and build self-esteem in addition to creating new standard of physical fitness. 

A fun filled picnic was organized at Joygaon, Bahadurgarh for the students of classes III-V on 7 December 2019. The students took part in various interesting activities like Zip Line, Commando Crawl, Rock Climbing, Mirror Maze, Fun Rides, Tractor Ride, Camel Ride and many more energising games. The activities exposed the students to a variety of challenging situations. They also helped to strengthen teamwork and personal accomplishments. The amount of energy and enthusiasm exhibited by students was enthralling. Sumptuous meals were enjoyed by the students. It was a joyful and enriching experience for everyone.

Picnic - Surajgarh Farms 30th-November-2019 – Picnic - Surajgarh Farms

SGS organized an Annual Picnic for Classes VI to VIII to Surajgarh Farm, Gurgaon on 30th November,2019.  It was an adventure camp situated in the lap of nature in a peaceful village .The exquisite surrounding provided an ideal place to the students to enjoy, explore and be adventurous. 

On reaching the resort, students were served with delicious breakfast to charge them up for the adventure activities. All the students enthusiastically took part in the adventure activities under the guidance of the instructors. A plethora of thrilling adventure activities like Zip Line, Commando Net, Hopscotch, Commando Net, etc. were there to give students a thrilling experience.. To inspire and encourage the students their teachers also actively participated in the activities. The students also enjoyed the fun rides on the camel , bullock cart  and horse cart .

After the adventure activities, the students were given a wholesome lunch to ensure their energy levels don’t dip. The fun didn’t end there, as fun-filled games and a dance session awaited the students. When the DJ played the music, students couldn’t resist from shaking a leg and grooved on to the beats of the foot-tapping numbers. It was a memorable day full of fun and frolic coupled with adventure and thrill, spent in the picturesque resort situated in the lap of nature. 





World of Wonders 22nd-November-2019 – World of Wonders

The students of classes IX-XII visited the World of Wonders, Noida on November 22, 2019 for their Annual School Excursion. The trip started at around 8:15 AM in the morning from school. The students thoroughly enjoyed the hour and half bus ride to the venue. 

Once at the venue, the students enjoyed the different rides at the theme park. Lunch was served at around 12:30 PM which was followed by a stint on the dance floor. Both the students and the teachers had a good time through-out the day and we finally left the theme park by 3:30 PM. 

The students and the teachers look forward to their annual excursion next year.

Gurudwara Visit - Dwarka 06th-November-2019 – Gurudwara Visit - Dwarka

Guru Nanak Birthday also known as Gurupurab,  celebrates the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji. On this auspicious occasion, the students of BUDS – II went for a visit to the Gurudwara in Sector – 11, Dwarka on 6th and 7th of November 2019.

It was a pleasant and spiritual experience for the children. Children covered their heads and took the blessings of Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji and enchanted the mool mantra. They were involved in a small prayer in which all of them diligently participated with enthusiasm.  Thereafter, they were served with Karahprashad by the Gurudwara volunteer.

It was an enriching experience for the children as they were enlightened about the Sikh Gurus and their contribution to the society at large. The children had a good learning experience at the Gurudwara.

Visit to Indian Agricultural Research Institute 25th-October-2019 – Visit to Indian Agricultural Research Institute

The students of Science and Environment club of Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka visited the premier Indian Agricultural Research Institute, PUSA, New Delhi. The IARI is supported by Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India.

The main objective behind the visit was to transcend the boundaries of the class for learning. It gave students a practical perspective on the internal working of the Department of Agriculture. It provided them an opportunity to learn practically through interaction.

The students experienced live crop demonstrations, protected cultivation of flowers and vegetables, exotic vegetables, fruits & cut-flowers, sale of seeds of high yielding variety, different types of farm machines and interface of the farmers with agro-industries personnel.

Dr Murtaza Hassan, Principal Scientist Working on Greenhouse, Drip Fertigation and water harvesting and Hydroponics for the last fifteen years in PUSA institute explained the meaning, process and practices of hydroponics lucidly. Such visits help the students to associate theoretical knowledge with practical application.

Dr Murtaza Hasan encouraged the students and extended his best wishes.

Annual Picnic to Kidzania 31st-August-2019 – Annual Picnic to Kidzania

“I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.” This is a famous quote by Confucius. And that is exactly Kidzania provides by blending reality with entertainment. Students of classes I and II  had this thrilling picnic to Kidzania, Noida on 31st August 2019, accompanied by their teachers.

Kidzania is an interactive indoor theme park that inspires and educates kids through real-life role-playing activities. The realism of the role-play helps children learn about different careers, work and money management. The activities like Supreme Court, Police & CSI Department, Fire Department, Energy Conservation Hub, Hospital, Fashion Boutique, Dance Academy, Culinary School and many others, helped students to get the first-hand experience and explore various professions by enacting them. Many activities helped them earn money whereas few others required some payments thus helping the kids to understand the management of money in real-life situations. Kids enjoyed a scrumptious and nutritious meal for the day and came back with a lot of fond memories.

Movie Time - The Lion King 03rd-August-2019 – Movie Time - The Lion King

Recreation is an important part of life and movies provide the avenue. From the moment we indulge in watching a movie, we are transformed into a new world where our mind is at ease and we have an exhilarating experience. In order to give a recreational break to the students from their daily routine, a movie show was organized by Sachdeva Global School for the students of classes BUDS & BLOOMS. They were accompanied by their class teachers to watch the movie- THE LION KING.

The plot follows Simba, a young lion who must embrace his role as the rightful king of his native land following the murder of his father- Mufasa, at the hands of his uncle- Scar.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the refreshments. The excitement was evident on their faces. It was indeed a wonderful and refreshing experience.

Visit to Kiran Nadar Gallery of Modern Art 05th-July-2019 – Visit to Kiran Nadar Gallery of Modern Art

As a part of our ongoing process of giving our students educative experience in the form of excursions and trip, SGS organized a visit for Class X to Kiran Nadar Gallery of Modern Art, Saket, Delhi on 05 July 2019. The visit proved to be a great way to arouse curiosity in the minds of school students and was a thrilling and motivating experience.

It’s the first private museum of art exhibiting Modern and contemporary works from India that aims to exemplify the dynamic relationship between art and culture through its exhibitions, publications, educational, and public programs.

The students were shown an informative presentation on the life and works of the artist in focus: Ms. Arpita Singh with her theme Submergence: In the midst of here and there. There after the students took a tour of the gallery, which helped them understand the significant trajectories and the core collection which highlights a magnificent generation of 20th century Indian painters from the post-Independent decades.

The motifs of feminism and war time issues were quite profound in her painting which grabbed the attention of the students instantly and they thoroughly enjoyed being part of it.

Excursion Trip To National Museum- Class VI 30th-April-2019 – Excursion Trip To National Museum- Class VI

According to Francis Bacon, travelling is a part of education. An excursion is not just pleasure trip; it enhances the knowledge of the students beyond the four walls of the classroom.

To provide such an enriching experience to students, SGS organized an excursion for Class VI, Section – B & E on 30th April, Class VI Section – C & D on 1st May and Class VI Section - A, on 2nd May to National Museum, New Delhi.

The National Museum of India takes us to extensive works of art & culture from past. The National Museum is situated in a three storied building. The first floor is connected with affairs of India, Second floor related to the International field and the third floor is devoted to the achievements of India states in different field.

The Museum gives an insight to 5000 years of India’s History and the achievements and innovations in terms of art, culture and other field of development. The departments of museum are Pre-historic Archaeology, Archaeology, Manuscripts, Numismatics, Epigraphy, Paintings, Arms & Armor, Decorative arts, Central Asian Antiquities, Education, Publication and Conservation.

Students were mesmerized by the enriching learning experience they had at the museum. Pupils were thrilled to see the kind of lives led during pre-historic & historic times, it helped them realize the pace of development India has gone through at each and every stage and at the same time got a glimpse of global advancement with time.

The Student’s pleasure was beyond measure at his extremely fulfilling excursion and they shall cherish this refreshing experience in their memories. SGS along with students express their gratitude to the Staff at National Museum for their hospitality, support and their pivotal role in conserving the rich history.

Educational Trip to Crafts Museum - Class VII 24th-April-2019 – Educational Trip to Crafts Museum - Class VII

SGS organized an educational trip to Crafts Museum in association with Times of India for class VII on 23rd and 24th April, 2019. Crafts Museum showcased the rare finest specimens of traditional Indian handicrafts & handlooms which are preserved with the objective to use them for revival, reproduction & development of Indian crafts. The students were impressed to see the beautiful specimens in various crafts, acquired over a period of 60 years from every state of India. A video was shown to help students understand the process of using natural colors in various art sculptures. The students were impressed by the traditional artifacts like metal lamps, sculptures, tribal paintings, clay and terracotta figures, impressive fabrics like Kalamkaris, Pashmina, Chikankari, Ikkat etc. All over the trip not only educated students about the special crafts of various states but also evoked a feeling of pride to be part of such a rich, vivid culture, producing some of world’s rare craft forms.




Excursion - Air Force Museum 11th-April-2019 – Excursion - Air Force Museum

The students of class 3 of our school got the golden opportunity to explore the Air Force museum which gave them the chance to understand the great history of our nation. A small trip was organised for them on 11th April 2019 which started off with great enthusiasm and merriment, also it was a new and exciting experience for the young kids.

The Museum Entrance features an indoor display gallery that contains historic photographs, uniforms and personal weapons of the Indian Air Force from its inception in 1932. There is an outdoor gallery too that exhibits aircrafts, several war trophies, equipments and captured enemy vehicles. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day and returned to the school with wonderful memories and refreshing spirit.



Excursion: Aravalli Biodiversity Park 09th-April-2019 – Excursion: Aravalli Biodiversity Park

SGS organized an interesting and informative trip for students of class IX, on 9, 10,11th April, 2019 to Aravali Biodiversity Park. The Aravali Biodiversity Park located on the South Central Ridge, spreads over an area of 692 acres and is currently hosting 20 distinct forest communities. Today the park has become home for over 1,000 different species of plants, 190 species of birds, 90 species of butterflies and over a lakh species of insects. The Park features two major zones - the visitor zone and the nature reserve zone.

The children explored the ‘Butterfly Garden’, the ‘Fernery’ and the ‘Medicinal Plants Conservatory’. They were guided by the team members of the bio diversity park who explained the significance and functions of various plant and animal species found there. Students were informed about medicinal plants and their uses in modern day Ayurveda. This was followed by a zone of artificially created rainforest which included different flora species. Students had the chance to come across the Bat and butterfly conservatory where they were showed many butterfly species at different life stages. They also visited the orchid observatory and learned many facts about forest life.

Towards the end, children were shown a short movie which showcased the beautiful flora and fauna found in the mystic landscape of Aravali. The trip concluded with a discussion where students were given time to ask their doubts from the resource person. In a nutshell, it was an enriching experience for the students.

An educational trip to Eternal Gandhi Multimedia Museum was organized on 8 February 2019, for the students of Class IV. The trip began with a lot of enthusiasm and feeling of nationalism. It offered an opportunity to view rich collection of paintings and personal belongings of Mahatma Gandhi. The instructors guided the students and shared with them several facts about his life and the struggle for attaining freedom. The students learnt about Gandhiji’s principles and beliefs. The multimedia presentation of ‘Believe in Satyagrah’, ‘Unity in strength’ added more awareness amongst the students. They were, then, shown a documentary based on the life of Mahatma Gandhi.

The excursion not only inspired the students but also aroused their curiosity to know more about Gandhiji’s life. It was a thrilling and worthwhile educational experience.
