Curriculum

International School in DwarkaNursery - Class II (09:00 a.m. to 0:00 p.m.)
The entry level classes follow a thematic curriculum focusing on peer learning where young students learn the basic skills of reading and recognizing. They benefit from group activities and work in tandem with their peers. Class 1 forms the foundation of a student’s academic journey and Class 2 lays the groundwork for learning the future concepts in each subject. Cultural and cognitive adaptability is facilitated by interaction among students from different milieus, which helps them understand diverse cultures better.

Primary Classes – III to V
The Primary School programme has been designed to develop within students an equal measure of content knowledge, skill application and attitude building. The curriculum encourages and challenges them to experiment, deliberate on divergent views, and integrate knowledge gained in other subject areas to real-life situations.

It develops children's competence in various skills - reading, writing, listening, speaking, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, observation, measurement and the use of information and communication technology. Besides a strong emphasis on these fundamental skills, there is also a drive towards originality, creativity and independence of thought.

VI TO VIII
The secondary school phase, spanning from Classes VI to VIII, is a crucial period in a student educational journey. During this phase, we focus on empowering students to explore and excel in their areas of interest, while nurturing their talents in a constructive manner. The primary focus lies on fostering logical skills and analytical reasoning abilities in students.

Besides the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Hindi, Integrated Science, and Social Science, students also opt for the third language in Class VI and second language (French, Hindi, Sanskrit) in class IX. Our curriculum also incorporates other important subjects such as Artificial Intelligence, Work Experience, Art Education, Performing Arts, and Physical and Health Education.

Along with academic growth we place a strong emphasis on value-based learning. Through various activities and lessons, we encourage students to develop qualities such as compassion, empathy, integrity, and respect for others. Furthermore, we are committed to developing a responsible attitude towards the environment and promoting sustainability through initiatives such as recycling programs, tree plantation drives, and awareness campaigns on environmental issues. They also engage in many community service initiatives to promote equality and foster social harmony.

Senior Secondary (Classes – XI and XII)
The Senior Secondary stage consists of Classes XI and XII which is the stepping stone to higher studies. These two years require students to focus on specific areas of specialization.

The school offers three main streams - Science (Non-Medical and Medical), Commerce and Humanities. Students have the flexibility to choose from a wide array of subjects within each stream as per their abilities, interests and aspirations. Humanities offers Geography, Political Science, Psychology, Economics along with Mathematics or Applied Mathematics which enables young minds to make informed and reasonable decisions in a democratic society. Science with medical (Biology and Psychology) and non-medical stream offers Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science. Commerce includes Business Studies, Accountancy, Economics and Mathematics or Applied Mathematics to understand the core business needs.

Additionally, as per the CBSE guidelines, HPE (Health and Physical Education) and SEWA (Social Empowerment through work Education and Action) -an integral component of HPE, have been incorporated into our mainstream curriculum with the intent to sensitise our students to the needs of their peers, their elders, the community and the environment.

Moreover, use of text books augmented with digital learning aids enables competitive and in-depth learning. Children are provided professional career counselling sessions throughout the year to advise them on higher education options and choices abroad.
